Someone told me that he holds Nicki at a higher standard than he does most females rappers. As unfair that is I understand his reasoning. She is highly intelligent and actually well educated. She is hard working, independent and extremely talented. I think they are tired. I am not going to lie, they are treating Nicki how they treated Lil Kim, although Lil Kim had already fall off by the time Nicki came on. People are not used to a female mogul, who is a rapper, so they are trying so hard to push her out.
I think every bit of what you said in this video and some more. Not only is it the hypocrisy... but its the audacity. I'd like to see you do a video about how the award shows are awarding gimmicks and not talent as much. Also would love to hear you talk about awards not equating to packed stadiums and sales. I personally think the industry wants Nicky out because Nicki is too smart of a woman to be an industry puppet. I also feel the industry is afraid that Nicky will become the industry. Greatness is always challenged and torn down. Nicki, Beyoncé, lebron James, Serena Williams they all have received a lot of hate during their careers. Simply because they obviously dominate their field and people don’t root for greatness as much as they do underdogs. Build them up to tear them down. I’m a huge Nicki fan but I think that two things can be true. Yes it’s true that she’s endured a lot of toxicity and still does, from the industry. But she also feeds into it and keeps the toxicity going with all the queen radio and Twitter drama. I’ve always admired how at the start of her career she was purely focused on her artistry, and even with Kim that wasn’t handled badly and it was always quite professional - keep it to the booth and then keep it moving. IMO Shether era (2017) flipped that because now everything is a personal attack and quiet disrespectful. Nicki reminds me of me when I used to get bullied a lot at school and people would say “they just want to see a reaction out of you don’t respond” and I would find that ridiculous! I think it's crazy that people felt that Nicki used 'lesser' artists because she was afraid of being outdone. I believe that obsessed guy Armon Wiggins mentioned this as well. How disrespectful to the ladies on the track who have worked their asses off. I think everyone held their own. Instead of being happy about this amazing moment, they found a way to make this a negative thing.
First it was Nicki doesn't collaborate with female rappers and is not about female unity and then when she does, people want to dictate who she should work with. People will always find an issue with everything Nicki does. This has been proven time and time again. I'm glad she's choosing to handle things the way she wants.
