Thanks and hope it fixes your problem..this watery ethenol gas will most likely trip the check engine light in the future..but, don't worry..it usually goes out when fuel cleans up..just keep MAF sensor clean, air filter clean and use good gas.

      My engine light come off🤔.
I been having a hard start due to battery problems for a week. But when I checked it, the code was P0101 issue. Surprisingly after changing my battery yesterday, I wake up today and the light was gone. Do you thinking I may still have to clean it or not? Let me know.
      Thanks again.

@@user-kl3ir4ty1e It could be from low battery or bad gas...

I think that was the issue for low battery. Anytime I checked in a morning was 10V instead of 12v. All terminals are cleaned. If it comes back definitely I will have to check the sensor.

4'll Hi there Keith, you are terrific as a teacher and more....Anyway, I really enjoyed the way you took us through the whole engine and step x step easy to follow along instructions...no hurry no worries right? I think my 2012 rouge with its 139,000 miles has the same issue cause the air filter box lid isn't staying on .....and like you said "if the air filter is clean"....so I may or may not try to do this job myself, a woman age 59 yikes??? Maybe I will let the boys at Midas do it....I'll ask them to watch your video...lol.. you are super hansom too......

Thanks, for the great comment. If the air box lid is not tight, sealed correct or missing the air filter, it will trip the MAF code in the cars computer, causing the check engine light to come on. You can check it yourself, easily or have someone check the locking system on air filter box...screws or clips cold be loose. I fixed a VW Jetta sunday. It had the same error check engine code and the car had no air filter installed. Installed the airfilter and code went away. PS. Your not too old. Thanks, for the great comment.

The screws or lock might not be tight from someone may not have tightened them after they serviced that air filter box.

I have a 2011 Nissan Rogue... as I turn the screw the bottom (torque bit) portion moves too... its a tight space so how could I possibly get this unscrewed?

    • @2guyshow2thefishkingz89
      @2guyshow2thefishkingz89  Рік тому +1

You can take out the whole air filter box..and free up some room to get in there easier.
You can also try to put a small flat head screw driver next to the nut that is turning..that might make it stay in place without spinning..just be sure to not drop the nut, once you get the bolt loosened.
Aftrrvyou get it apart...You can clean the nut area with rubbing alcohol on the housing where nut is spinning epoxy the nut back in place on the housing,...be sure not to glue inside the nut threads..the epoxy will hold the nut.. so it won't spin again, if you work on the MAF sensor.
A small pair of vise grips might hold the nut at an angle to loosen the screw as well. Just be patient and you will get it.

    • @2guyshow2thefishkingz89

It most likely is the ethanol in the gas..turns to water and trips the sensor..
Dirty air filter can cause the same code. Replace air filter..clean sensor and reset code.
If it persists..get an OEM MAF sensor from nissan.
Use some gas cleaner and run super gas..in your tank, to see if that helps keep the code light from returning.

Replaced intake filter about a couple months ago, just cleaned the MAF Sensor thoroughly with some cleaner hoping that does the trick. If not I will take those steps swapping it out with an OEM. When you say reset code is that done with the OBD2 Reader or with the car it’s self messing with the dash display settings ?

I'm having the same issue now and I just got a oil change two days ago. They took out the cabin filter and showed me that it was still good ( which I knew because I got a new one last oil change) and now I'm getting the same codes. I went and checked the filter area and they didn't even put the cover back on right so it wasn't even clasped down by the filter. I'm kind of hoping that silly little accident is what's causing a code. I put it back together right. If that was the problem with the check engine light shut off after a little while? Or do I still need to get the sensor looked at by someone?

It could be the sensor in the passenger side seat or other airbag sensor malfunction. Pop the hood and disconnect the battery terminal for about 10 mins..reconnect the battery and see if it resets itself..there are also resets for certain functions you can access from the dash board menu options...knobs or buttons located on dash board gages area...Try those easy fixes first..lastly, I would check to see if you have a loose connection on wires under passenger side seat...under the seat..something could have been pushed under the seat and moved the wires.
      Hope this helps!

It will hit sometimes...just wiggle it a little and it should come out...or what I have done is loosen up the air tube and get it out that way.
Just be careful and easy with it..clean the sensor and clean or replace the air filter..a dirty air filter will make that sensor not be accurate as well.. reinstall it..clear codes and see it that fixes it.
