[PSO2:NGS] Remnants of Ambition Party 4/8 - Fear Eraser Ranger & Gunner Expansion - Ra/Sl POV

This isn't about the speed, or the time.
I've included the DPS meter at the top right for reference to why we're demonstrating this.
For Gear Reference, I'm using the new armors and a Tisah Wix 4, with BIS augments.
I don't have the new weapon yet!
There's a few things happening here that allow this:
Gunner's new skill recovers 150pp for their entire party (apart from themself), when they chain finish at 150. This redelegates the one gunner's role into becoming a PP battery for the rangers holding down Fear Eraser.
The issue with Fear Eraser before the expansion changes, was that your Purple Blight would have to be refreshed every so often, which was a DPS loss due to the long startup time of Fear Eraser itself. With the new changes, not only was Fear Eraser's numbers increased, but Ranger now has the ability to refresh their blight as long as they use the specific abilities (Launcher WA, Fear Eraser [Each tick refreshes it!], and charged Divine Impact [both stages].
As long as the gunner upkeeps their 150 chain throughout the quest, the rangers would be able to hold down Fear Eraser indefinitely, save for a few moments. This is overall, not a good thing because 150-chain-only Gunner is not the optimal way to play gunner at their own top DPS.
Depending on the boss, the rangers would have to tank through hits while taking advantage of Fear Eraser's super armor. Throw in a Techter who is redelegated to healing, while spamming Talis convergence shot, and then you have a team of 3 in the back while your gunner-battery works on their chains.
Is this optimal ranger gameplay for party? It's boss dependent.
For example, Bujin in Aelio Purple is the prime boss to hold down Fear Eraser. Otherwise, Ranger can still play as it did before, and use Fear Eraser for downs 7 seconds or more. Assuming a party of a gunner, techter, and ranger can play normally without all the setup, then the overall damage output will be better than the funny meme beam. 😊

and yet, we live in one
for the record in this run i ended with 10431 DPS with bis einea armors and 14/20 abandac 5 flugel, sweating as hard as i can to keep everyone topped up, and in other runs i fell behind even more relative to how much weak point uptime the rangers had, which was mostly down to my tanking ability

Do you need Hu's Warcry in order to simulate this or is just Gunner DPS good enough to hold aggro above other classes in this situation?

@@mongrelshadow14 the rangers have 80% reduced aggro through stealth strike, i don't take that skill, so i only have to outdps the techter, which is trivial

Best thing about fear eraser is that you no longer need to worry about blight round expiration.

Yep for fights where theres only one ranger especially so, makes huge difference. Very good change to the gameplay for it. First we got no more blight wars for multi rangers, and now fear eraser refreshing blight, covered all round. Although worth note the follow-up attack when end now also does 4x damage instead of just 2x damage so if need stop/start every 10 secs or so even its still 'ok'

Btw with slayer sub if you grab a Fatale weapon you can trigger the 2pp restore every second :) Even longer beam powers.

I know it's a bit of a meme build but I love that this works 😂 I'm guessing you could do the same with Partisan Thrusting Javelin too? Would be slower because of no Blight Rounds but would be funny to see. Great video!

That's such a funny idea! If you could have a hunter grab an avenger with Thrusting Javelin, and hope the boss doesn't move, we can have a whole afk team! 😆
