@@MarqueshaMartin That was a major setback for me. I got into programming having the thought that I just need to learn Python and everything would be great. Most online tutorials only focus on learning the basics of any programming language. Once most people have completed the tutorials they find themselves in a position of not knowing how to create anything. The language is a tool used to create. At this point in my path books have had the greatest impact on learning the language and being able to apply what you have learned to create.

Hey everyone, I’m sorry that my comment is slightly off topic. I’ve come to realize that web developers often struggle with healthy eating. Which is why I’m currently trying to find out how one could make the lives of web developers who struggle with this a lot easier.
So, I was hoping if some of you would be willing to answer these two simple questions for me:

    1. As a web developer, what are the 2 biggest issues you’re dealing with when it comes to sticking to healthy eating?
    2. Regarding nutrition, what would you wish for more than anything else?

Or I have to somehow attach my website to a CMS or re-create my website through a CMS , I'm really not sure what is generally done in this case? Thank you.

To be honest outside of class not sure where else you're gonna learn it from other than a book, Google or UA-cam unless you manage to find a mentor who will personally help you. This field requires a decent degree of self motivation. I can agree that sometimes teaching myself outside of class may be a chore sometimes but when you get a job you still won't know everything and there's not going to always be someone holding your hand so you'll have to learn from stack overflow or youtube to solve a problem. Thats the job maybe yoirr better off in another field or branch of IT

Instead of focusing on learning all the languages in the world, stick to the fundamentals. How data flows in objects within Object Oriented Programming (OOP) for example. I would focus more on OOP than any other types of programming languages such as Procedural, as OOP dominates, especially in web development.
To start of, learn syntax, variables, data types, operators, strings, if else statements, switch, while loops, for loops and arrays. These are the building blocks of languages, OOP or procedural.
Then, focusing more on OOP, learn classes, class members, constructors, properties, inheritance, classes/objects, polymorphism and abstraction.
It may seem like a lot, but if you spend half an hour a day on the basics, you will grasp the fundamentals on OOP. You should NOT learn everything, as you will burn out, but these concepts are crucial for programming. Knowing two different programming languages helps.
DO NOT spend all your time on tutorials. This will only stifle you. Once you have gone through a good learning platform like W3 Schools, go and download a project from GitHub and start deconstructing the project with what you have learnt from W3 Schools.
Remember, if you know the fundamentals first, then you can pick up a programming language later on, EASILY. Learning every language before understanding the fundamentals will make you quit early

Sir, i am thinking of joining a bootcamp focused on web development (MERN).
My question to you is: is web development a good long term career considering there are a lot of website builders already?
My fear is that maybe in 10 years time, web development will be so small because of drag&drop sites and only the top 10% will be left with jobs.
    What are your thoughts/opinions sir?

    • @DKYtut
      @DKYtut 3 роки тому +2

Yes web development is good for long term, mainly because programming is a valuable skill.
Drag and drop builders can only make websites that look the same/have the same template style.
And this is only the visual aspect.
It does not support anything 'more complex' stuff like working with data, custom animations/visual effect etc , and performance ,speed of the website itself. Which are hard to automate.
And if you have programming experience on your resume you can eventually shift into other programming jobs
      like programming software.

@*Cypher_Willow Realistically if you've never coded before, its not happening. If you have coded then its highly unlikely, could get lucky though. Really though it would look like:
      Months 1-3: Learning language(s)
      Month 4:frameworks/API/Development life cycle
Months 5-9(could be less depending on size of projects): completing projects to put on your portfolio to showcase skills

@@AleksanderVitkin what I mean is it worth getting into web dev?
I wanted to start learning but I kept hearing that the marketplace it's oversaturated+in these days it is easyer to make a website with Wordpress by yourself than hire a freelancer

@@lemontaingaming4095 You can work as a WordPress developer. Wordpress does not contain everything, so it needs developers and programmers to modify it.

@@lemontaingaming4095 If it's what you really want to do then don't listen to what other people say and go do it... saturation doesn't always mean that there's no place for you... it means that there's a big market out there... focus on your goal and on the positive aspects of it. Good luck.
