    Theme: Corruption and destruction of beauty and innocence.
    Symbols and Suggestions--
    Rose: symbol for love, beauty and innocence.
    Thou art sick: Personification.
    Worm: symbol for corruption;the evil that destroys natural beauty and love.
    Night: symbol for something hidden; secret and dark.
    howling storm: symbol for something evil wild and destructive also suggests times of upsetting turmoil and destructive passion.
    has found out: this refers to the exposure of 'secret sins'.
    crimson joy: life, passion ,refers to both passionate pleasure and shame.
    substance of the poem: the speaker addresses a rose, and claims that it is sick. An invisible worm has stolen into its bed under the cover of night and in a howling storm.The Rose's bed is of 'crimson joy'.The dark secret love of the worm destroys the Rose's life ,suggesting something sinful. The worm is invisible and the rose is the innocent victim of it.It suggests that people of vicious mind spreads corruption and destroys health in human society.
