I had the Google Pixel 5 for about a month, so after the 4a 5g came out I went and picked it up, the battery life is the same for my usage 8-9 SOT, on both phones, and lasted all day and the 90hz wasn't a big deal for me because it still runs smooth, I don't need the IP rating, never have for me, just a bonus, and the 2gb ram I hardly noticed a day to day difference, they both ran about the same, ultimately I ended up selling my p5 because I just didn't see the reason to stay with it over the 4a 5g, and as far as the speakers I think it maybe your unit as mine sounds a lot better than my pixel 5, hope this helps anyone reading the comments. Also the bigger screen, since I like to watch videos and play games the bigger screen and headphone jack was plus too. Seems like the P5 should've been 6.2 and the 4a 5g should've been 6. Cheers

My wife has a Pixel 4a 5g and the speakers sound great. It was actually the first thing I noticed about the phone. They sound better than those on my Samsung S21 FE. Maybe there was a problem with your particular phone.
Nice review. I don't agree with you regarding the sound from the speakers. I think the sound is pretty good. Obviously, it's better than the Pixel 5. Can't comment about the Pixel 4. But I've only had this phone for less than a week and loving it. Has to be.one of the best mid-range phones out there.
from points of user 4a 5g is better. from data 5 only higher RAM, Water resistance & wireless charging are better. 4a 5g get longer battery performace than 5. camera, screen resolution are same. So Better go for 4a 5g.

Are you serious?! That 4a 5G speakers are very good but not great... "pretty bad" is certainly not what I would call them. I have no idea how they compare to the 4a but they kill the Pixel 5 hands down! Love your video editing.
Somewhat agreed on the speaker part. Yeah it is disappointing, but it's not a bad speaker, it's just average. My Pixel 3a XL, was way better in the sound department and coming from 4 yes it's pretty disappointing. Plus the haptics not as strong as Pixel 4 or the 3.
Seems like you got a faulty unit. I've seen dozens of reviews on this phone and most of those reviews agree that the speakers are louder than the first Pixel 4 and 5. Also the rainbow effect you say you get in certain angles seem to be only on your u it since other reviews would have mentioned that right away. Idk it seems that instead of a review youre trying to keep people away from the 4a 5g. Idk if this is a review unit that you got from Google or bought it.
What ruins it is the processor and that vibrating speaker at a $700 price point. When they come out with the 6, the price will drop and some people will buy that. I don't understand how that pixel 5 can be £599 in the UK and $699 USD. So for another £100, they get the more premium model. But if you're coming from the 3A which cost $400, the 4A 5G is a good deal because from for the extra $100,you get bigger screen. Better speakers , more RAM, more storage and a slightly better processor with 5G.
I'm really on the fence between the Pixel 4a 5g and the OnePlus 8T. Tmobile will give me 375.00 for my Pixel 3a XL if I buy the OnePlus 8 T and nothing for the 4a 5g.
Yeah if you didn't pick yet the 8t is the better phone. I have the 7 pro and I've had it only for a few months but it's speedy and the 90hrz is very smooth. The 8t can go to 120 so even more smooth. The battery bigger too as well as a in display fingerprint scanner.
The main reason I want a Pixel 5 is because: 1. It has a larger display/screen size than the Nokia 6.1 I have. 2. It has wireless charging. (Even if it will take 4 years to charge on it (even with the HUAWEI Supercharger.) But I'd rather have that than fast charging.) 3. It has a slightly faster processor than the Nokia 6.1 4. It has more RAM than my Nokia 6.1 5. It has stock Android and has 3 years of updates. 6. It's still small, but not too small. 7. Good Enough Camera. All of these the 4a 5G has as well, except Wireless Charging. My Nokia 6.1 has battery bulge because the phone overheated (enough to nearly burn flesh) due to fast charging. (Which is something no one reports happens with fast charging. Instead people report battery degradation with fast charging.) I only use speakers for phone calls currently, as I have no friends IRL, and you know... Covid causing people to not be able to be together. If you can tell me how to turn off fast charging either through the phone itself or via adapters, please do. Then I'll buy the 4a 5G.
Just buy a cheap power brick to plug it into that doesn't support fast charging, ie a 1amp plug. My pixel 5 doesn't charge fast at all and doesn't feel anything close to warm. That's using a 2amp plug

I tried ordering skins for this phone from Dbrands but I cant order skins until 12/12 It gives me a message to come back 12/12 when I try to order my Skin.
Bad speakers? You must've gotten a bad unit bc they sound great on mine. if you watch just about any of the many other vids bout this phone you'll find that the speakers get a big thumbs up. I think too many people are getting hung up on the non flagship processor. The software optimization on this device will keep it buttery smooth for several years - definitely long enough before you need to upgrade your phone. Gone are the days of having the highest megapixels, best build quality, fastest processor...........people just want a great experience and with the Google Pixel 5, that's exactly what you'll experience.

I added the EQ for more bass and I can tweak it better to my ear for voices. No one phone is ever going to hit the mark on what we all want. Trust me... If I could have a phone like I like my PC... I'd have a 6k phone... So for me, and only me, the speakers are great coming from the P2XL
I have the 4a 5g a d I've gone a day and a half with no charges in-between. Pretty good. If anything I'll just charge it while I shower. The 5 isn't really worth it for me 90hrtz screen would be cool but I don't need it also wireless charging you have to go buy a fast one for it to be useful. I haven't used the extreme battery saver mode either not sure if he me mentioned it in the video. Lol that's me though and it went on sale $40 bucks off so I got 40 bucks back from best buy. That's a spy call expiring Friday 12/18. That might make me more money. I trade options random there. Lol.

I haven't used the extreme battery saver mode either not sure if he me mentioned it in the video. Lol that's me though and it went on sale $40 bucks off so I got 40 bucks back from best buy. That's a spy call expiring Friday 12/18. That might make me more money. I trade options random there. Lol.
