Nice Observation! Yes, I went in on a Bluewave with a friend in PortA so that I wouldn't have to tow back and forth. So now, I can use my Austin boat for freshwater, and have the PortA boat for saltwater. We've configured it with the same important features as the original Bluewave: A solid body, GPS trolling motor, Tee-top, good motor, and of course, Livescope! We won't fish on a boat that has those 5 essential elements. Thanks for noticing. Tim
Noticed the 200 Evinrude first. any reason you stay with the older blue waves ? I have 2008 blue wave vbay 220 which I would like to take to rockport but haven’t done much fishing in the salt. I think I would like to do what you are doing stay in the deeper areas first until I get a better understanding of the currents and tides.
@@slange455 Hi I subscribe to simple must haves on the boat: Floats. And older BW's are reasonably priced and they float well. That's all. I run 24V. If you can afford 36V, go for it. I haven't had enough time with mine + Tee Top to know if battery drain will be an issue or not. So far, it's fine. But runtime could be an issue if yours is heavier. When I bought my first boat, a friend got on the boat and showed me around. It's actually easy, with some simple rules. If you're ever down there when I'm there, I'll hop on your boat and do the same! Tim
The livescope transducer on the trolling motor chassis is awesome! Can’t wait to make one!
Thanks Eric. I can get you one that is in Odessa. I'll call you. Tim
Great video!
Thanks Dennis.
Need more videos on Live scope in saltwater. Thx!
Yeah, they’re amazing in the salt too
I've been debating if livescope is worth it for bay fishing? Do you find it works well in shallow water areas also?
I spent about 2 weeks experimenting with shallow water livescope including perspective, and I found no real advantage.
@@SoccerReels good to know. So primarily only helpful in deeper water which makes it hard to justify the price tag
Bull reds are fun! Nice job Tim 👍
Thanks Todd. They're fun fun fun, but not really that good to eat. Tim
I know the spot we have caught some big reds in the area . Good video thanks
Rick, I figured many would know of this "Secret" location.... Thanks for your comment. Tim
Okay, I'm officially going to upgrade my electronics, that's pretty amazing tech, and I know exactly where you were fishing too!
Yes it’s amazing. Now you know the “secret” spot..

Last question are you running 24 or 36v. Trolling motor? Weight wise I can use 24 but with t-top think 36 would be better?
