As a person who extracts a ton of information and research from videos. I must say this is a very well put together video. To the point and informative. I can tell you put a lot of effort and time into this and to edit it down to just 8 minutes is a great accomplishment. Great job 👍
The ocean taste is culinary used for cooking. Ceremonial is for tea but can be used for lattes and is more earthy flavor. Organic matcha is always gonna be bitter versus non organic.
Good video! One thing a lot of people don’t know is that there’s organic matcha from Japan that is not rated organic. Like the company itself couldn’t bother themselves to go through the whole process of getting the organic certification.
good test. It may be that online and also in shops that are not specialized tea shops, store Matcha too warm, and it then goes bad very before the MHD and the Matcha tastes fishy. That's not good when people are put off by the first pack of Matcha and think that this is normal when Matcha tastes fishy.
Love to see good matcha reviews and this one is very informative. The only what bothers me is that you took 14 brands, form them 10 ceremonial grade matcha (first on the list) and compared to 4 culinary grade matcha (next on the list). Do you think ceremonial grade matcha should be compared to culinary grade?
I agree that they are in a different class, but I wanted to include some really highly rated culinary ones, and one culinary grade matcha (Mizuba) was recommended by a blogger as being wonderful. And it actually scored higher than some of the ceremonial grade matcha powders in the blind taste test! I was basically giving some highly rated culinary grade matcha powders a chance to stand against the more expensive ceremonial grade matcha powders. And also those were what popped up when I was searching for highly rated matcha, so I gave them a chance.
Thanks so much for breaking down so many different brands! If you could be so kind, do you have any opinions on Sencha Naturals, "Emperors Matcha?" Thanks!
I just started drinking matcha today. Did some light research and got the Akira from Matcha Konami. Little back reference I’ve been drinking green tea after switching from coffee due to high bp. All I can say is that I absolutely loved the taste of Akira compared to the green teas I’ve been drinking. I see that you enjoyed it as well. Guess I’ll keep using this brand. I’m a little curious about more expensive luxury matchas. Anyone know of a good high end brand?
@@ButteredSideUp I have never felt jittered or such but once drank 2-3 tee spoons matcha in water on empty stomach after a hard training session, then I felt ill like having the flu for 20min. Then I vomitted and felt refreshed like never before. Came to find out that its a cleansing method.
Mine too. Even Aprika culinary grade is better for me than jade leaf ceremonial grade matcha, but I use to drink both brands. There are my two favorite when we talk about reasonable price.
@@paneth01 Unfortunately their quality is not as good as a few years ago, it tastes bitter and not much umami flavour, I doubt that they have given enough shading time to the tea trees.
Ah, must have included the same video clip for both matcha powders! You can check out the blog post for photos of all the products: www.butteredsideupblog.com/best-organic-matcha-powder-review/
@@ButteredSideUp well I hope so. My first was awesome but the last one was very bitter. Thanks for the time you took for this I sure hope that you are being compensated decently
Now, this is how you do a product comparison video!!! 🙌
Thank you! I tried to put a lot of effort and value into it. :)
no kidding
This is exactly what I need I’ve been searching for a good quality Matcha
Glad it was helpful! 💚✨
My favorite brand hits the number 2 spot!!! YES!!! Jade Leaf Matcha is the brand that I sewar by! 💚💚💚
yes Jade Leaf is pretty good! I love it! Also Pique Tea matcha was not mentioned... It is great as well
Now this is quality comparasion video out there of matcha
Aw, thank you! I tried to put a lot of effort into making it helpful!

Hats off to you. You put a great effort to research the whole thing. Thank you so much!
Thank you! I tried to do it properly! ✨

Yes, I'm sure there are companies out there like that! It's finding and discerning that's trickier. :)
Organic is always bitter anyway. Bugs don't bother it versus the sweeter matcha.
good test.

I agree! I would be so sad if someone decides they hate matcha because they got a low quality one as their first one!
Fishy matcha is when and how it's harvested and used more for culinary. Ceremonial is tea and can be used for Lattes. Organic matcha is always bitter.
Caffine mite be hittn me🤣ur soo cute lol and thankYou for letn us kno😊
Nice to see that you reviewed jade leaf. I just ordered some for the first time, but it appears they now come in resealable bags rather than tins.
It looks like on their website they still offer tins as well as bags!
Are bags better than tins for some reason?
I wish Ippodo is on the list
The Reserve is my favorite and an awesome Matcha flavor.

I think it helps to compare them especially for a taste test
Culinary is more ocean taste. Organic is bitter, and ceremonial is tea but can be used for lattes. It's usually more earthy flavor

Well done! Scientifical and from the heart. AND so funny with the indication of caffeine level 😆
Thank you! That was one of the few times I’ve felt jittery after drinking matcha. 😅

Your skin tomm is going be glossy and Bbeautiful😅😁
Haha! Hopefully something good came from that over-consumption of caffeine. 😜
Thank you, very nicely done and super helpful.
So happy it was helpful!
2:30 This one is my favourite, did you try their ceremonial grade?
I tried their culinary grade, which was not great. I haven't tried their ceremonial grade.
Oh sorry, the Aprika Life was decent for culinary grade. I was thinking of the Splendmood which was not great.

Very well done. I’m curious how much that costed. Atleast a few hundred lol. Thanks for the sacrifice
I think it was around $300. 😅

Yuuuuup. 😅😅😅
Thanks, appreciate it…. Helpful vireo
You did an excellent job but I just watched another where they put pantgere on the bottom. Number 6 and 9 look like the same product.

Almost two years later. Are you back on Earth yet? 😂
