same lol, i remember the stupid questions at the beginning n not getting far, it just wasn't that great of a game =p one time i got "laid in it" and "got more than i bargained for" which my grandparents explained meant venereal disease =p
Oh, god, the nostalgia. I remember getting laid by the "working girl" when I was like, 8. My parents used to help me complete the "how old are you" parts, which makes me laugh, thinking about it now.
Oh my god! After 30 years, I finally got the joke. I thought "lubbers" was a nickname for them! I went through childhood and my teenage years smirkingly calling them "lubbers". Only now, in 2020, did I finally *finally* realise that they're not called Lubbers, it's just his accent!!!
This brings me back to when I was 13 or 14... My dad had this game and when he was away for work, I used to sneak into his computer room and played this game. Even though I'm Dutch, I gradually learned how to work myself through the game. Hahaha😂
My god, when I first got into IT in 1989 as a mainframe op, a colleague had this on his computer and I used to sneak down and play it whilst on night shifts!
My dad used to play this game when he was student. I love seeing this as I only play modern games and it's fun to see what type of games my dad used to play when he was younger!
I loved this game when I was a kid. I was maybe 9 or so? I had no idea what a "lubber" was but it was so much fun lmao. The music took me back. Good times
Wishing for new content as I watch this again. Love all your videos especially the LSL playthroughs. Gets me through these rough times we're all facing. Hope all is well sir.
That soundtrack when the game starts. Classic it got banned from retailers. Ah times they have changed. I became an expert in the opening questions aged 8. Dodgy.
Ok I’ve been looking for this game since the late 80’s. I was about 8-10 when my neighbor had this game and I couldn’t remember the name of the game. Fun game for us back then!!
My cousin and I, at about age 7, got past all those security questions back in the 90s. Our play through consisted of figuring out how to make Larry use the toilet, then giggling like little mad men once it worked. I wasn't sure what game we had played until today. I had thought we played as a detective or something haha, not quite.
I’m glad to see you’re still around hearting comments and stuff. I always come back now and then to rewatch this series you did on the game. I’ll most likely never play it, and I will honestly never remember how I first found your video, but I love the videos you made and I’m glad they’re a stain in my teenage memories. Probably saw this in.. 2014 first time maybe. Maybe younger. But I come back every year or so. God bless your series. Thank you man! ❤️
I know you wont see this, but man i first watched this aaaages ago when i was like 13 and im 23 now, same age you were here. I always come back to watch you play the first three games. hope youre doing well my man
@@Alex_Ander946 that's awesome! Married with two little kids now. They are just on the verge of understanding video games and I can't wait to truly be able to introduce them to the classics. Probably not this one though lol.
"Well" whiskey refers to the cheap whiskey they give at bars (stored in a "well" under the bar for easy access), as opposed to shelf whiskey on display over the bar, which is more expensive. Larry ordered well whiskey because he's a cheap bastard :)
My parents told me I could play the game if I could answer the questions. A couple of them I could figure out/knew on my own. The others I figured out the answers through trial and error.
I remember playing this when i was a kid and I couldn't finish it then i asked an older friend, she was a girl and told me you have to go to the pharamacy and buy a condom to finish the game So i told her " whats a condom " God i was an idiot 😂
Sierra fans, if you could choose ANY 3 VGA remakes of classic Sierra games, what would they be? Please vote in AGDI's poll! (Maybe Larry 2 or 3 perhaps?) Link wouldn't go through so check out himalayastudios on twitter the link is listed several times.

Actually, I think you're hilarious. I just thought you'd like to know the reference to well whiskey. I think the jokes in this game went over a lot of kids' heads.
I remember I couldn't pass the age test when I chose the minimum ages but when I chose something like 80 I managed to get enough answers correct to play (and some sort of warning about my heart not being able to take this game (?))
I played this game when i was a kid. It took many years to finish it, cause of the questions, and the fact i didn't know how to save the game at the beginning. I learned a lot of english word, i had to use a dictionnary.
i remember i was too young to understand the questions and barley knew any english at all and i almost never passed the questions, but sometimes i passed thanks to pure luck LOL!
The thing about "you've hit his area of expertise" is because if you try to talk to him about ANYTHING else, he doesn't understand you and replies with gibberish that's supposedly his native language.
@Luffymon88 If I recall, the remake came out in the early 90's, under the same title. Its pretty much the same game, but with up graded graphics for the newer series like Loved for Sailing ete. More cartoony than the first 3 games.
This was SO F'n TAME.(well, when I was in sixth grade, it was almost out of bounds... (Like 'The Simpsons' and '98210', which were both thought of as.... Edgy?) What a world!... Like DOOM, I can't believe that anyone thought this was inappropriate for kids. This is basically PG-13, if that. Though kids probably wouldn't have gotten the humor/references. (I liked the trivia intro though- unfortunately the best part of this game, except for the shock value and marginally funny jokes, which doesn't shock, and weren't funny, except for the 'campy" value. Still... It IS fun (even if not in the way it was intended to be), and that's what makes a good game, imo.
This was done on a modern computer using a DOS emulation program called DOSbox. Plenty of information and tutorials online about it and I would also recommend looking up "abandonware" if you are interested in free software to use with it.
wc10k alright, thanks man. I have never played, or even heard of this game before your channel. But it feels so nostalgic to me in some way, that I come back to this series and watch it every other year. And your commentary is so pleasing

I thought it was a joke name.
As Benny Hill used to say, "the chicken tasted rubbery".
loved this game back in those days... i´m portuguese but learned my first english struggling in this game :D
I remember playing this with my work friends back in the 90s. We laughed so much. I am just about to buy the bundle (on sale) from Steam.
I recently played this game for the first time and it actually took me three tries to proof that I am over 18. ^^
RetroDevDroid lmao
Used to play this on a green monochrome display and swapping the two floppy’s during the game.
It was Ford who wasn't elected to office. LBJ did get elected after he finished Kennedy's term. Ford finished Nixon's term but then lost to Carter.

I remember watching my ex husband and his friend play this. Good times, good times.

"well whiskey" means well-level quality, or below average.
Which I guess would make "finest well whisky" something of an oxymoron!
The well is the house liquor, it's what's put into drinks if a specific brand isn't requested.
This game was so great.. Ty for making this!
i pass that adult test when i was 11 years old when it came out 1986 or 85 remeber it was so cool

Somehow I passed the age test, age 8. I always got stuck though when it came to flushing the toilet. Killed me every time!
