Great reaction, as always! I appreciated your insight during the scene with Bubbles and his sister. I’m sure she’s been disappointed and burned before, but I love that she gives him a place to stay in the end.
On Walon feeling 'legit' - the actor is singer-songwriter Steve Earle, who is - besides having had a remarkable career and contributing to the music of the show - a recovering heroin addict, now sober for many years. He lost a son to an overdose. So yeah, he is for real. The Wire is actually full of real people.
Avon is the west side boss, Prop Joe is on the east side, the the basketball game was east vs west but Avon’s team is west side, the city is split east and west by Charles street
Going to start a sweepstake for when you finally stop calling it a procedural. It's really so much more. That's not a criticism btw.. just a jokey comment. You, along with another guy are the best The Wire reactors currently doing it.
@@jagwolf8079 no, he's terrible. He has absolutely no clue. Misses small points and even general themes etc. Binge Buffoon is incredible with his understanding and with the way he analyses it. Nothing escapes him and he's even mentioned discussion points I've missed and I've seen this show 20 plus times. Nobody comes close to his reactions.

Yes, they mentioned that they knew that in the very video that you're watching.
The Eastside boss is "Proposition Joe", Prop Joe for short.
One of my favourite characters. Was a great guy in real life too. Took a lot of the kids under his wing
@@ChrisITW04 yes indeed, the actor who plays prop Joe was like a mentor and acting coach for much of the children on set,

Yea Avons an angel compared to whats in store in later seasons lol
If you guys like Clarke Peters, watch 'Tremé' and marvel further at his range as Big Chief Albert Lambreaux.

James vs Cinema?
@jagwolf8079 yeah I watch him too, he's good. Just finished a patreon run of Jan
I think you can argue that this is a procedural but it redefined the genre that no other show replicated.

@@ChrisITW04 I love binge buffoon, i dont even mind that he doesnt upload regularly, his analyses is just so good.
Those Game of Thrones mentions/comparisons are not going to age well.
Nothing happens to invalidate praise of the opening credits.
