My theme for this year is Quality over Quantity, I want to enjoy what I read, and not just read to hit my reading challenge, I'm falling in love with books all over again, and I've already finished 3 books and on to more.. I have loved everything I've read thus far
The Crown's Fate is also on my TBR for January, I'm currently reading Uprooted by Naomi Novik. Something that might help you with a balance between writing and reading is set a certain amount of time aside for both, for example: write for an hour or two then call it a day regardless where you stop, and then spend the rest of your day doing other things and set aside time for reading. I think one of the major things that will help be consistent keeping a balance between both is don't make excuses for why it doesn't get done.
I agree so much with the "focusing on your writing" part. It's definitely important. I always used to think that books won't ever really run away, and besides the authors whose books we are reading already have the luxury of being published authors, so it's definitely your turn to do the same if that is, in fact, a dream of yours :) Good luck with the writing. I currently have a book in the making as well, and I'm hoping to finish it this year, although I'm currently suffering from a mild form of 'writer's block'.
The quality of your videos has improved incredibly over the years, I don’t why but it’s particularly striking in this one. The sound, the image, everything is perfect. Also, you look absolutely beautiful here !
The nightingale. Loved every minute of that 584 page journey. For those who have seen titanic. I could picture the older rose, talking and showing us younger Rose.
Good luck with your writin goals!! I am sure you can do it and you are a reading machine so you will definitively get a lot of reading done this year, I am always amazed at how much you read in a month :)
I read The Bear and the Nightingale. It's sooo beautiful and lyrical, I'm sure you'll love it. It's a great pick for winter. I'm reading Crown's Game this winter--I've been wanting to read it so badly!
I have Even The Darkest Stars in my TBR pile for this year too. I got it in a FairyLoot crate. I’m really looking forward to hearing what you think of it! I have to keep pausing your videos to add books to my never ending Amazon wish list but it’s really good to get book recommendations from someone who’s reading likes mirror my own.
I’m also a writer, and between that, reading, starting my own channel, and stay-at-home-momming a toddler, I had to make a schedule to fit everything in. I’ve only just started it but so far I’m liking the structure, knowing today is a writing day so I have to do that, tomorrow is a filming day, etc. Might be worth a try for you! Have you read The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult? HIGHLY recommended if you enjoy historical WW2 fiction. She’s one of my favorite authors and that’s probably my second favorite book of hers.
I also love everything WWII! Something about that part of history is so intriguing and I love learning about it. I love when historical fiction novels are set in that time. Thanks to your video, I've go a lot of them to read now. :D
I have just found your channel because I am ill and I love it so much. I think you seem so genuine and sweet and can't wait to read anything that you write.
I loved The Bear and the Nightingale, I would suggest listening to it on audiobook though because Kathleen Gati's performance was amazing and it really brought the story to life for me.
The Nightingale is my favorite historical fiction book ever! It is such an amazing story! I recommend it to everyone interested in that genre. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it!
I'm currently reading "Wintersong", but I hope to also get into either "An Enchantment Of Ravens" or "The Bear And The Nightingale" this month as well.
You’re gorgeous as always and also I loved your hair!! Hopefully you’ll be able to write a lot but don’t stress yourself too much, take care of yourself a lot!!💘
I read The Nightingale last summer and it is truly amazing book.I also found it interesting to read about WW2 from the french perspective. I think you should explore more books besides YA,especially historical fiction. ☺ BTW I highly recommend Winter garden by Kristin Hannah. 👌
The Nightingale is one of the most beautiful books I've read! You're gonna love it!! Thanks to this video I will add The Librarian of Auschwitz to my TBR! Excellent video and quality! Happy New Year!!!
I love Girl in the Blue Coat & The Nightingale!! Hope you love them too!! Especially The Nightingale ❤ Also now you made me want to read The Librarian of Auschwitz 😁
I’ve commented about this before but the books The Sea of Ink and Gold by Traci Chee are sUPER GOOD but sUPER UNDERRATED!! I haven’t really met anyone who’s read at least the first book and I really think it deserves more attentions and I think they are books you’d really enjoy. It follows a girl named Sefia who lives in a world where books aren’t exactly a thing. Nobody knows how to read or write. But the Guard does, who are the higher ups and they keep these books away from everyone. Sefia has been orphaned and travels through Oxcini with her aunt, running away from the Guard. She is eventually found and taken away but has left her bag for Sefia, in which holds the Book, in which turns out to be a very powerful weapon. It’s a fantasy I think you’d really enjoy!
My plan was to read Godsgrave this month, but I heard about the Biannual Bibliothon and now I think I have to push it off a bit. However, I'm having a great reading month so far and that's a great way to start the year. I'm thinking about picking up Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda tonight, so I hope it'll be great!
I read the Cruel Prince and it was amazing! I just couldn't put it down, I finished it in like two days. I've made a video review about it. I have no idea how I'm gonna wait until next year for the second book!!!
If you love historical fiction and Midsummer Night's Dream, you should also read Fools and Mortals by Bernard Cornwell. It's one of my Staff Picks. I also work at a Chapters.
I’m eager to see what you think of The Cruel Prince so I know if I want to add it to my list . LolSo far in my January tbr I’ve read 6 books. I’m currently reading Six of Crows. I have 6 more waiting for me and 1 reread. Depending on how that goes, I may add more. I have 3 kids sooooo I get busy. Lol
I feel so lonely for not loving Scythe haha! I adored this video and am really looking into reading The Bear and the Nightingale, so I’m very curious to know what you thought of it!

if you are interested in dark fairy tail retelling then read the Wendy Darling Trilogy by Colleen Oakes. The first one is kind of slow at times but picks up! I also picked up Almost Autumn Marianne Kaurin translated by Rosie Hedger. It's another WWII historical fiction and I heard great things about it (I focused on WWII in college so I understand your love for it)
I know you have a ton of books but Night by Ellie Wisel (I spelt that wrong) is a true story about his World War 2 survival I loved it and you might too
