This DLC is such a love letter to the fans, with all the companion interaction, humour, and call backs.

I think Thane's son Kolyat said it best: "Thank you for holding this event. In time, it will be a good memory." That's pretty much Mass Effect 3 in a nutshell.
Your emotional response to the party was perfect. Such a good game series.
Believe it or not, there are a lot more interactions you didn't discover in the DLC, for instance you can interact with drunk Grunt a number of times before his dialogue repeats. My favorite line of his is: "I'm sad Hanar can't wear sweaters."
If you ever play this again, do the Citadel story missions early, then come back to the Citadel every mission and you'll get another meet-up or two, like Thane's memorial service or helping (or not) Joker scam his way towards free drinks.

The reason the emails came in like that is they appear in waves. You receive some emails from some crew members and once you've done all of them, the next wave of emails come in and then the next until you've done all the conversations and receive no more emails, then the party should happen.
And, you also get to have 2 meet-ups with some of your squad mates
Funny that Glyph transferred us 15 thousand credits for party supplies which only cost a hundred
You missed a part that would have made you cry more. Beside your bed is a tablet with recordings from Mordin.
Next time just say look for a datapad next to your bed. Keep the Mordin part a surprise.
Awww, you didn't see Mordin's datapad right next your bed, when you wake up and investigate the Aftermath. It's very easy to miss, but you absolutely HAVE to hear it.
The game truly does a bad job at explaining how the meetings with your squaddies work and many players miss quite a couple of them on their first playthrough. You've missed two, one with Joker and the other with Wrex, both at the bar on the upper floor. You didn't invite Samara to your apartment either.
All your squaddies have more than one line at the party, and you have to repeatedly click on the conversation button. Grunt's ones under the shower would've got you rolling the on floor.
This DLC came out when the overwhelming majority of the players had long finished the main game, so it was in a sense a goodbye. A love letter to the players, and a farewell to the franchise and its characters.
I got it, I'm keeping a playlist of missed/additional scenes for her to react to so I'll definitely make sure she sees those👍

There was also a datapad from Mordin you missed in the aftermath of the party. It is easy to miss, since it's on the floor by your bedside table when you get up.

The Citadel DLC was release well after the game. Many already had several completed playthroughs by the time it was added. This was their post-game tribute. Best of all, they did it outside of the need for company deadlines, so they were able to do it right. You will probably be unable to deny, this is what makes the ME series unforgettable.

Getting the party supplies isn’t the reason why those messages about the squadmate hangouts came out after the party.
You selected “Invite all” when you invited all the party guests, which automatically starts the party. You didn’t check your messages before you started the party, which is why you didn’t see the messages until after the party.
Also: for the Kaidan and Traynor rain check hangout you missed at the end, you have to go to your apartment and invite them up to initiate the respective hangouts.

There are two more interactions in the casino bar. You can leave the place and then go back to see them. People have already mentioned the datapad in your bedroom. You can make an entirely new video about Calm party, you can go from one group of people to another multiple times to exhaust their dialogue.

I've been completing the entire trilogy once a year since 2012. Previously, I'd completed ME1&2 once a year. I'm still having a lot of fun, I often discover new dialogues and items (it's important to change the composition of the team - e.g. for the mission in the casino in the Citadel DLC, the best dialogues will be provided by the Liara-Yavik duo.)
The citadel dlc is hands down one of the best dlc ever sold for any game. And supposed to be played at the very end, it takes you out of the "real" story plot and gives you as much of a break as it is one for the charakters. Just great.

I have finally caught up to the new videos. I love the story of Mass Effect but I'm not good at shooters, so I have been trying to find a complete play through. The last one I watched stopped at the end of 2, which is no good. When I saw that you had completed 1 and 2, and were currently playing 3, I had to watch. I love your videos, and your commentary is great. Can't wait to see you finish the game.

I love the fact that in the Javik scene, they were going to use the stunt double to play FEM Shep, hence his "demotion." It's the same way with Bro Shep, but I figure they kept it in for Fem Shep because it's funnier.
Glad you managed to catch some of the meet-ups you missed. Just for info, in case you replay, there are two more meet-ups in the Casino's upstairs bar. Like Kasumi's, you don't get an email about those, you just have to be lucky enough to spot them. You can also invite Jack, Kaidan, Traynor, Cortez and James, and Samara up to the apartment. The email notifications for these only appear two or three at a time, so you need to keep leaving the apartment, so it can refresh when you return.

I remember when I finished my first playthrough of the series. I felt so lost afterwards like a part of me was now gone, and it took me a while before I found new things to do to outgrow that void. I played other games but none have gotten me emotionally invested like this. I'm trying to play it now but it doesn't feel the same as that first playthrough.
if you miss these characters later, there's a different set of dialogue for each choice you make about party atmosphere. more replayability than almost any other mission in the game!

You have to invite him to your apartment
Same with Thane, EDI, and Tali. I suspect that after the reload back to the save, those invites are still at the apartment, along (now) with Kaiden.
Just for next time, the meetings for squadmates while on shore leave come in groups. You get a few messages, do them, and then you'll get more. And you didn't have to reload to meet with EDI, you just needed to go to the apartment and call her up. The callups (Tali and Koyalt also) don't appear on the map.

great video, great reactions, hopefully you take the time to watch what you missed or replay the missed parts. also, no matter how many times i play through the series, i ALWAYS beat Vega's pull-up record. I can not let it go.....Sherpard is the first Human Specter, defeats Saren, defeats the Collector's, saves the galaxy.....but yet can't do pull-ups? yeah, no......gotta do it to save the Galaxy! also, the Citadel DLC is the best.
Making money in the arena to fund upgrades, and spacing out the little meet ups to get an emotional break, are the last reasons I start this DLC as early as possible. Then hold the party last just before the Cerberus Base. You can google Tail's tattoo if you want to see it, people have had it done, she describes it if you take other party direction options.

This whole party the characters and talks, the emotions we all feel are the many reasons that made Mass Effect to one of the best Series ever. I have played through this series over 20 times, it never left my drive since release.
You need to go back Lite! Save your Citadel DLC save and go back after the game if you have to! Like everybody says... Lot more to do there!

Once you clear all prizes from bronze, silver, and gold in the arena, you'll be winning 10,000 credits per match. With that, you can quickly buy up every gun and mod in the stores.
Plus, unlocking all the prizes lets you play the arena with any living squadmate, past or present. Wrex and Samara, Wrex and Jack, Wrex and Grunt...
The remaining meetups happened after the party because you jumped the gun and sent the invitations first. The meetups were really designed to occur between the missions and the party.
The hidden Joker meetup in the casino becomes available after a certain number of meetups, and the hidden Wrex meetup becomes available (at the same spot) when most of the meetups have occurred.
And you did miss a few conversations at each phase of the party. Each group has two or three convos to overhear during each phase.

Citadel DLC is BY FAR my favourite content on all Mass Effect Series, and the reason why ME3 is the best game for me.
You know, I've played this series 15 or 20 times now, far more than any other game, and every time I still ask myself why I would do that to myself, and then I start my next run. It hits hard, but in all the right ways.
If you romance Traynor the dialogue is different for the chess game also true when you recapture the ship in the last video
I love this DLC. It's massive and should be replayed multiple times. This will make your next playthroughs just as interesting (alternatively you can watch videos of other playthroughs).
Also; everytime you leave your apartment then return you can get more meet ups (don't have to actually leave the strip).

The problem with starting Citadel so late is that there's no time for all the social meetups (two for most characters), and many of them are great. I think it works better to use them as a breather from fighting missions.

No, you have plenty of time for all of the meetups. You just have to know they exist.
The piano piece is "Vigil", which plays in the open of ME1, during your meeting with Vigil, and has played a few other times such as when you cured the genophage.

If I am to be honest, I will probably never find a game like this that will make me express my emotions to a level of high intensity. The Mass Effect Trilogy is truly something different from all the other games😢 And the music bro.... the music. ME 2 suicide mission is my favourite forever ✊

38:34 - I agree, however, I'm also a completionist, so I went out of my way to do it all, and I'm so glad I did. There is a pretty enjoyable subplot to the entire thing and the e-mails get pretty good, too. The prizes aren't anything to balk at, either. You only looked at one tier of them. Go far enough and you can even get an armour set. ;)
45:56 - There's a mod that, after it released, I refuse to play ME3 without: Ultimate Party. It lets you experience the full party (both relaxed and both rowdy phases)! I'm not saying it's wrong otherwise, but it feels right to have it all. Without it, I highly recommend going back through the party with different combinations (need to use a save file). The conversations change and you can get some really entertaining conversations.

You didn't have to go back to your ship. You should have been able to go back the apartments and check your messages again. But, yeah, I guess don't get the party supplies until you're absolutely ready.
They were at your apartment terminal, There was an announcement about receiving new messages as you returned to the apartment, But you didn't notice it and invited all to the party, Which begins the final act of the dlc.. The messages come in batches, Once you've finished one set another will come in when returning to the apartment, Not sure but there's about 4 or 5 batches of interactions..

Hey Liteweight you need to play more Bully Scholarship Edition because it's so fun and funny at the same time, I remember playing it and all I did was have either marbles or a banana peel on the floor where students trip on them and start a food fight in the cafeteria, I always aim at the dinner lady's head with a apple and I couldn't stop laughing to my very soul, Bully is the best game that ever existed. LOL
LOL.... Yep. The pull-ups. I've fallen asleep doing em. Takes about 15 minutes to get through. 🙃

Don't get fooled - the counter on xbox is malfunctioning if you don't shut the game down properly.
Yeah, that pullup thing is a bit tedious, but worth every second, just to take James down a notch. I don't think I have seen anyone skip it before, I know I never do. And there are a lot of funny and wholesome squad interactions, I think you missed a few, if you don't do them in the next video. I think my favorite is when you romance Garrus. Shepard is a great wingwoman though. However, I am a bit confused, why does he suddenly get a lot more confident and a lot less awkward, just because Shepard gives him a beer she stole from a random drunk turian zig-zagging past them. And yes, I think a lot of people feel like the party should have been the true ending.

@@LiteWeightGaming I am so sorry I forgot to look at the time stamp... I watched about 4 hours of you streams today skipping around. It was so good to see someone with same reactions I had when I played the game... I played the game many times and even being straight dude (Tali is the best romance for Shepard imo Liara the most practical romance) I cried (silently of course) when Thane died and watch his messages from the grave. Mass Effect for some reason is an emotional game.. Talk to the bartender on the Citadel (sp) if you haven't already.
