    I've been using cubase for more than 10 years and only ever really scratched the surface for the way I make music (guitar based songs). The manual is daunting and other people present it as some kind of dark art ;) I recently got myself a midi keyboard and you have really helped me learn a lot of very practical features. Thank you for your clear and still interesting teaching style, you've really made a difference for me!!

    Cheers for this. I'm a guitarist (and wannabe singer) recording my own music. I have a nektar lx88+ which I mainly use for piano and I don't use the controls enough. I started with a Yamaha 4 track years ago and find eq easier with knobs rather than a mouse. Definitely going to set this up so thanks

    I am right now finishing a comparision: 10 mixes with Lindell API and 10 mixes with Waves Scheps Omnichannel. Two very different plugins, but Lindell 50 is AMAZING. One of the best on the market. Next step: I will do 10 mixes with the UAD version of API channel strip and see what happens :)) great video as always, thank you very much!

    Your tutorials are brilliant! Is there any way you could spend some time doing an in-depth tutorial on controller setup, in regards to setting up a generic controller (I have the MPK2* keyboard), in addition to the Track and VST QCs?? How does the controller QC and Track/VST QCs work or override or work together when using them... Thanks again!

    I wish this worked in Cubase 13 in 2023 but I am not making the hardware talk to the software, except the one I set up using the traditional setup. In FL Studio if I browse to the parameter I want to control, I can link it up no problem. With the Quick Controls do I need a GUI with a knob or slider? What about if there's a button or just a menu item? In FL Studio I can assign hardware to control these elements as well. in Studio 1 I have a macro to do it also.

    You do a really great job, thanks I learned so much !!
    Do you know how to make great beat from scratch without using external materials like keyboard and pad but just Cubase and a mouse for beginners?

    Great ideas about QC improvements! Hope Steinberg will see you)) I have another, but I dont know if it is possible: to use quick controls for 2 (or more) tracks at the same moment. Example: for 2 mixer channels if I assign volume faders on different CC/knobs on my external hardware, can I move the volume faders on those 2 channels with 2 different knobs in the same moment? :) I mean, can we use QC on 2 channels in the same moment? I dont think actually

    • @Tutorial_ism
      @Tutorial_ism  3 роки тому

      I hope so too. Yeah, there is a world of possibilities that could open up with some more flexibility from the QC

    Hi, this is a neat little trick. I was wondering if it's possible to assign custom key commands in Cubase to VST functions, for example assigning a certain key on the computer keyboard to switch a guitar effect on and off etc? If so, how? Thanks.

    • @Tutorial_ism
      @Tutorial_ism  2 роки тому

      Cubase has 1000s of key commands that you can customise. I have not personally searched to see if you can turn a specific plug in on and off, but I’m sure there will be one in there somewhere. Just go Edit>Key Commands

    May I ask -- do you ever use Generic Remote? While, usable I find this very confusing at times to set a midi controller, lol. Apart, for what remains to be seen in the forthcoming edition of Cubase 12, I truly hope a more streamlined way to incorporate controllers in there system would be it -- people have been requesting such a feature for years to no avail. lol
    Thank you for your teachings!

    • @Tutorial_ism
      @Tutorial_ism  2 роки тому

      In my current setup I have the P1 and Aura from Nektar and they both run pretty seamlessly with Cubase straight out the box without having to dive in to the Generic Remote stuff (other than for triggering the arranger track which I made a video about a few weeks ago), so rather selfishly I’m kinda hoping things don’t change in Cubase 12 too much on that front as I love the workflow 😅

  • @proteus1
    @proteus1 3 роки тому

    Would I need the p1 starting out? With Cubase.

    • @Tutorial_ism
      @Tutorial_ism  3 роки тому +1

      For just starting out I wouldn’t say it is a need. I would recommend getting fully comfortable with the software before looking at different controller options. But I would say the P1 integration with Cubase is a lot deeper than other controllers I have used, so it is a great investment for sure

    Can we connect Komplete Kontrol keyboard to Nuendo/Cubase without the Native instruments menu so that we can use the keyboard to control the Steinberg menus?

    • @Tutorial_ism
      @Tutorial_ism  3 роки тому +1

      I haven’t used a Komplete Kontrol keyboard in years so I’m not 100% sure... but I would assume that you should be able to map them to the Quick Controls the same way I did with my controllers here

      Sounds like a question for their tech support as I’m not sure what you mean, so unable to help I’m afraid. I was using the Quick Controls all through the couple of years I was on Cubase 10 without any problems though, so there is light at the end of the tunnel if that helps at all
