I dont play smash bros. I've never watched a tournament. I've never seen any of your matches, Zero. I didn't even know until recently you were considered such a great player. But somehow I guess since I play MK and Tekken you showed up in related some time ago for me (if since it is all fighting game related) and I'm happy about that. I enjoy your videos a lot, even tho sometimes I'm not fully aware of the mechanics that are being used in gameplay videos. Your personality would have me watching your videos even if you were a scrub at the game :P I may pick up a switch and give smash a try sometime. I'm pretty good at tekken and mk. I wonder if any of it will translate over.
I'm not an expert by any means, but there is some general fighting game knowledge that will help you out when it comes to Smash. It's just applied a little differently. Also, don't be afraid to play Smash casually as well. It's not just a basic fighting game like some of the communtiy makes it out to be. Free for alls can be a hell of a lot of fun.
It won't all translate over mechanic wise, but there are some terms that are consistent and other factors like frame data and hitlag, etc. That doesn't need explaining tho as there will always be something different between games.

Playing against a Bayo was terrible in Smash 4, like a nightmare. Bayo's broken moveset would kill any opponent's mood when she killed at 0%. The Toon Link wasn't mad at the game, he wholeheartedly accepted his defeat. What made that Toon Link justified at 11:55 was that the Bayo pulled a Salem-Armada where he completely ignored the fist bump from his defeated opponent and walked away without any form of acknowledgement. Mysteamerica knew what he was doing, he should be the one that's reprimanded for unsportsmanship.
There's definitely a fine line between getting frustrated at a loss and going overboard. I've been to a couple locals in my area and caused some frustration with my Luigi. At one of them, my opponent implied I win using busted BS. The second time I beat him, he yelled rather loud and nearly tossed his controller clear across the room. I understand frustration at a loss especially in competition. That said, you should still respect your opponent. Win or loss, take it and move on.
