    I had to buy a car FAST due to an emergency situation. I found a 2019 Yaris L which--as he says in the video--"provides basic transportation from point A to point B with very little fuss " and "amazing fuel efficiency". For this road warrior who has a 100-mile daily round-trip commute, I was glad to find it and hope it lasts a long time.

      @Pansy-guitar So far, so good! I'm racking up the miles; bought it at just under 15.3k miles and it has 33.8k now. Bought the car just over 9 months ago.

      @MariedSavedByGraceForever WithClutch says the Yaris is Toyotas most reliable car. In fact its the most reliable car on the entire site. JD power and Consumer Reports lists it as top 3 most reliable.
      If you want reliable this is as good as it gets. Just get the manual or you will be bored to tears. If that matters to you.

    this car is what inspired me to fall in love with mazda. i’ve sold cars for toyota and mazda and it saddens me to see that mazda is severely underrated. when. people come up to me and ask for recommendations for a new car, 9 times out of 10 i will say mazda’s.

    • @asdfghjqwertyu1858
      @asdfghjqwertyu1858 4 роки тому +9

      The Mirage is honestly not a bad car. Just very basic and feels too “90s-ish” in comparison to other cars, and used cars offer a better value. In countries like Russia, there are cars that have not been redesigned as old as 1965, yet people are happy. But Americans expect more from their cars and prefer a more modern feeling car.

      American's don't buy yaris 's and subcompact cars (the sales have been bad and trending down) so toyota decided to replace the old yaris with this much better Mazda 2. It's a smart move I think. If Mazda themselves don't see a business case with their 2 for the US no wonder toyota don't bother with the yaris for the US market. Incidentally, they just released a new toyota built yaris for japan and europe.

  • @Packerm87

    The trunk ordeal is by design. So if you leave your key in the car, people can't walk up to your car and open the trunk. Keyfobs are to be with you, they are not expecting you to leave the fob in your cup holder. My car does the same thing, i have an infiniti. Great video, i love the honestly.

    • @electron7659
      @electron7659 4 роки тому

      No one would ever leave their key fob in the vehicle as they would not be able to lock the vehicle while the key fob is inside. Most new vehicles have this system as a safety feature already.
      The vehicle can detect the key fob's precise location and if it's inside, then the car will never lock.
      Therefore, no one will ever walk away from their vehicle before taking the key fob with them and locking the car.
      With that being said, the whole trunk issue is now pointless. It would make sense to still be able to access the trunk even if the key fob was inside your vehicle.
      .........and I speak from first hand experience because I drive a Honda Fit and I've been able to access my trunk while my keys are inside my vehicle. Cased closed 🔐

    Not having driven too many BIG POWER cars lately, I find my 2019 Yaris quite peppy, and kidding aside 0-60 in 9.8 or so isn't really bad, especially around town - Instant lurches from stop signs, very quiet, marvelous steering, a nice smooth revving sound & feel, a delight to look at, inside and out. A Corolla with comparable options would have added $4000 or more to my $19,000 out-the-door (tax, destination, plates) and I found the Yaris higher up on the fun-to-drive meter. After 12,000 miles averaging 40+ mpg, I feel very pleased with it. I have the LE trim, automatic and it has keyless entry/push button convenience. I don't see why folks need more car and for 19 grand You get a lovely Mazda2 with Toyota service.

    I have the Scion “ version”, (the last year), and had to buy it after owning a Lexus IS 250. I felt like I had to settle, so I pretty much ignored it for 3 years. I then started making it “my own” as there were a lot out there. Got some major changes coming up. I read about this trim package but have never seen one on the road. I’m trying to source the head lights and grill inserts along with the trunk lid spoiler. Now that it doesn’t look like everyone else’s, I enjoy it more.

    Rented one of these in New England in the fall. I think this review is spot on. It was fun to drive, as long as you stayed well w/i its limits. The poor acceleration made sure I stayed w/i those limits. The tire's cry for help on anything more than a rt. hand turn at a stop sign, in a residential area. Yes, the chassis appeared rigid and strong despite the light curb weight. --- Being the 1st "modern-day'' Mazda I had driven, I was disappointed in the steering. Oddly, IMO Mazda's biggest Kudo's (steering) was a let-down. Perhaps it is just my preference, but in sweeping turns or canyon twisties, although quick and direct, I thought, the steering resistance was too linear. The feel was the same through-out, lock to lock. Maybe, it could be described as artificial. --- My car at home is a Suzuki SX4, feels weighted and much better, but it doesn't have electronic steering. All in all, the car had no personality, no quirks & definitely no attitude. Did I like it, yeah. Would I buy one, perhaps only for my teenage children!

    "Fair Warning" (from personal experience), for SOME REASON the rear deck lid/trunk does tend to "pop" itself open while driving.
    When I questioned my local Toyota Dealership, it was "non-adjustable", or a Safety concern (for the Dealership/Toyota)!
    And was not considered a "Recallable Situation" since they did not "VALIDATE" the complaint/concern...
    I LOVE my 2020 Yaris LE Sedan (ICECYCLE [Unicorn] WHITE), although it has absolutely no power, I drive like an "Old Fart" (minus the 3-mile blinker).
    After daily use for the past 31 months, I still have under 13,000 miles, I average 37-51 MPG!
    Lastly, when I used my last Maintenance Warranty (only 2 years), I was offered $19,500 to be used for a Trade-In.

      The Mazda Skyactiv engines and transmissions have been out since 2013 and they have been bulletproof reliable powertrains. Whereas the Corolla has already had re-calls on the CVT and the previous gen is already having CVT failures.
      Also if you did a bit of research you would see that Mazda just beat Toyota and took the #2 spot for Consumer Reports Most Reliable Automakers. Toyota is #3 now and Lexus is still #1.

    In 2019 I test drove a brand new 2019 Toyota Yaris at the dealership. I was very unimpressed. I would stomp the gas down at a red light after it turned green and the engine would just roar, but when you watched the speedometer it was barely moving and I could smell something burning. A brand new car is not supposed to have a burning smell coming from it. I think they are junk. I would get a Corolla instead.
