I've been in Raleigh for 25 years and I have never felt or heard that we have excessive rain. It feels incredibly normal amount. If anything, I wish we had more since my grass dies almost every summer due to heat.
I have live in NC 6 years, 3 years in Raleigh. Allergies can be a problem. See a doctor for good allergy relief. Yes it rains a lot. That's what makes such good flowers to grow!. I never had a problem with Politics, it being a big city, the growth of the city, and certainly a lack of snow. I'm not into night life, but no there's not a lot of it. The humidity is something you need to look out for. I had to give up driving a car due to problems with driving due to old age. I'm 85. Taxi fares here are reasonable. Raleigh is a nice place to live. Don't worry about some draw-backs. Everyplace has drawback, mostly worse than Raleigh.
Driving around here is a nightmare. Just the other day on my way to work I was cut off by a guy driving a chevy Aveo when his tiny little car could barely fit in the space in between the car in front of me and my car... A chevy aveo is like a fiat 500 sized car. Then he pulls into the little median turn lane thing and makes a left across 3 other lanes to pull into a storage facility. The kicker here is I was going 10 over the speed limit and THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND ME! So if that is how you are going to drive when you come here just stay where ever you are and save me the hassle of dealing with you.
I used to want to live in Raleigh but as I got older, it appealed to me less and less. The primary reason was the traffic. I settled in Wilson, which is 40 miles east of Raleigh. It is a city of about 50k people. Big enough for most everything I want or need but not too big to make getting around difficult. It’s home now.
Restaurants here close around 9pm and after that almost all stores do too. Combine the high cost of housing and traffic and this place is borderline unrecognizable from just 10 years ago. My family was born and raised by downtown Raleigh and it’s sad to see the locals being pushed out. I would never recommend moving here.
Thank you for this video. I'm from DC and have accepted a new job in Raleigh. The problem is I can't drive! 🤦🏾♂️ So, I guess I'll have to face my fears and anxiety and learn how to drive ASAP! 😳
Depending on where your job is there are a couple areas where you could get by such as DT Raleigh, West Raleigh near NCSU, North Hills, or Downtown Durham area. But yes, probably a good idea for to learn
Yes, not much is really changing in NC because we’ve already had buyer agency agreements in place. However, buyers may not be allowed to view homes with an agent without a signed agreement should the settlement go through. Sellers will decide what they want to offer to the buyer agent and they are not required to do so. This has never been a requirement in NC, and has always been driven by the market conditions, so not much is changing there, other than it won’t be displayed in the MLS. You will likely see agents who don’t want to work hard for their clients and do the bare minimum leave the industry, which would be a good thing.
Yes, but it would be challenging. It would be beneficial to move to an area that has all the amenities nearby such as North Hills, Downtown Raleigh, Village District, etc.
I’m a florida native wanting to move near the Raleigh area and this video could have very well been about florida 😅 I’m planning to visit at the end of the year to get a feel for the smaller towns outside of Raleigh because I want to get away from traffic and overcrowded scene of Orlando. The fact that Raleigh is growing scares me, I’m tired of growth and I’m sick of tourists.
We do have growth but we don’t have many tourists so it may not be as bad as you think. Definitely nothing like Miami, Orlando, Tampa. Feel free to reach out when you’re ready, we’d love to help you with your trip
I’m a native North Carolinian and can attest to how parts of Raleigh are no longer recognizable. Even the smaller towns are not so small anymore with the tremendous outgrowth we’ve seen here in the past couple of decades.
Hi! That’s great to hear. Call or email us and we can help. We typically just help with sales, but we do have several great resources for renters as well.
After watching so many positive videos, I had an interview and was so excited to travel and see the area. YUCK! The homeless issues are wide ranging, from the crime, to the drugs to just seeing them everywhere and not feeling safe. I talked with several locals and they universally agreed the area is on the decline, the area gives more and more benefits to homeless people, so it is attracting them like bears to honey. The junk homes are everywhere, I knew about the $450k average home price, but many in this area don't have nice homes, double wide trailers and old junky houses were everywhere, so once you leave your nice neighborhood, be prepared to see CRAP! The job interview went great, but I just couldn't pull the trigger on wanting to move here.

The late-night food situation got worse due to COVID. It never bounced back. And this is not just Raleigh but I miss the 24-hour Walmarts!!!!!
Raleigh is close enough to Asheville. I'd say people who love snow can move to Raleigh and visit Asheville for skiing/snowboarding.
Very true!
Very accurate on all mentioned topics. I love Raleigh!!

Raleigh was great in the 90s but not anymore. The infrastructure is struggling to keep up with the growth and it's becoming way too corporate for me.
Pre north hills? Pre opening up Fayetteville street? Pre Hillsborough Street getting better sidewalks, etc? Come on.
Your videos are very informative. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Great information ! Thank you.
Thanks for watching!

Can you discuss the NAR settlement please? Pros and cons for buyer, seller and agent. Thank you!

In case I cannot drive, can I rely 100% on Uber or Lyft?
I would not recommend.
Yes, but it would be challenging. It would be beneficial to move to an area that has all the amenities nearby such as North Hills, Downtown Raleigh, Village District, etc.
I wouldn't recommend it unless you have too, and public transportation is not good. You would have to live near shopping and restaurants.

@@LivinginRaleighTV Thank you. Your videos have been very helpful btw. It stinks that everyone else is considering moving to the Raleigh area

Raleigh is also crowded and over priced
Hello! Because of you I am planning on moving to Raleigh this year. By any chance do you offer help with Rentals?
Hi! That’s great to hear. Call or email us and we can help. We typically just help with sales, but we do have several great resources for renters as well.
Raleigh is not bad but I plan to move to Asheville, cooler weather is what I love.
Ashville is a weird town.
When people stole from you and you know the people and nothing happened 😮
Holly Springs is a better value

Probably a good idea. They are overbuilding and it's likely the bubble will soon burst. Real estate is too high.
Knightdale is the best
Too many Californians and North Easterners moving to the Raleigh area. Too many people on the roads. They're ruining the politics here.
Not go to Raleigh no safe city
