@@daemonzap1481 What you put in you get out. Ours is totally devoted to me so was hard to go anywhere when it’s a chick because he was always looking for me or screaming for me 😂 I didn’t want him to be stressed so I was always around . He would come in at night and sleep on my chest till I could sneak him into his bed. You need a large clean area and if you have other fowl it will help later but in the wild their father is always there . Until one day he just walks off and leaves them to fend for themselves.

Oh yeh, I actually experienced a horse eating meat/human food. I was camping at Assateague Island in MD a few yrs back where these wild horses live, they are part of the attraction. They are a little bit smaller than typical horses you’d ride. Well, I woke up to find three horses had knocked my cooler down from the picnic table causing the lid to come open. They ate leftover steak n leftover broccoli n chz that was wrapped in foil. I think they consumed some of that foil. The nxt day when I was packing up, my trunk was open. The darn horses came from out of nowhere and were rooting through my trunk n grabbed the bag of tostitos. I yelled for my boyfriend to help get those pesky horses away. He wrestled the bag of chips out of its mouth. They were all crunched up n worthless. 😑 Those horses were gangsta. Lol.

I don’t know if this was ideal but
I was at a zoo and he emus weren’t caged just with a fence. There was a really friendly one that let me and my dad pet it on one condition. We had to approach it slowly and make sure it saw our hand, then just stroked its neck and pet it. Very cute emu. I will remember that. My dad did a “demonstration” (pretty sure he did it being a bit silly.) and he went in fast and the emu nipped him! I love that emu.

That's just because your brain hasn't learned how to read them. Once you spend time working with an animal your brain will adapt and allow you to read their emotional and mental state and also to be able to communicate with them. This is why there are many animals that many people will point out are very dog-like but two people who have never worked with those animals that concept seems entirely foreign. It's simply a matter of your brain not having learned how to see them yet😊

I have not raised emus but 1.5 m is probably not wide enough to stop them if they're freaked out. The electric fence will not work to keep them in, but otherwise shouldn't be a problem unless you have some sort of ridiculously strong one for some reason.
