@@Nirrrina Oh yeh, I actually experienced a horse eating meat/human food. I was camping at Assateague Island in MD a few yrs back where these wild horses live, they are part of the attraction. They are a little bit smaller than typical horses you’d ride. Well, I woke up to find three horses had knocked my cooler down from the picnic table causing the lid to come open. They ate leftover steak n leftover broccoli n chz that was wrapped in foil. I think they consumed some of that foil. The nxt day when I was packing up, my trunk was open. This guy is ignorant. I'm in Australia, I know our wildlife very well and I know for a fact feeding native Australian birds processed pet food is stupid and irresponsible.
That's just because your brain hasn't learned how to read them. Once you spend time working with an animal your brain will adapt and allow you to read their emotional and mental state and also to be able to communicate with them. This is why there are many animals that many people will point out are very dog-like but two people who have never worked with those animals that concept seems entirely foreign. It's simply a matter of your brain not having learned how to see them yet😊
We thinking about getting emu's for our 10 acres ... Any advice? We have 8 foot fences all around the property ...it has a creek too. Really like to know if there's any profit in raising them too? Not for food of course.... We wanna keep them as pets.
Could have people come to pay and feed them possible as sort of a petting zoo, and to make sure they come over to the feeding spot get them used to a regular schedule so they kno what will happen
8ft around 10 acres. Must of cost alot. I have 27 im trying to fence. You can sell fertilized eggs for a bit. Im going to harvest mine. Meat/eggs/skin/oil/feathers.

Fence? ha ha har. Fence? oh thats funny I'm outback oz, A big daddy emu with eight big babies like Echo & Blue just moved into the golf club. we love them and water them.
May I ask you a question please? I have horses and my field is surrounded by water. About 1.5 meter in with. Do they jump over this? And what about electric fence for my horses. Is that a problem for them. I really like to buy 2 of them but I want to be sure if it is possible. Sorry of my questions or not clear to understand. I am from the Netherlands and English is not the main language.
I have not raised emus but 1.5 m is probably not wide enough to stop them if they're freaked out. The electric fence will not work to keep them in, but otherwise shouldn't be a problem unless you have some sort of ridiculously strong one for some reason.
Question? If you have an aggressive female emu in all the recommended enclosure specs? What to do? My females emo wants me dead and I don't understand what to do.
