- It was sad news this weekend on the recruiting front for fans of North Carolina basketball: Coleman Hawkins announced his transfer to Kansas State (although there wasn’t any UNC expectation, still disappointing when it’s finalized), Ulrich Chomche decided to stay in the 2024 NBA Draft, and Isiah Harwell (class of 2025 SG) cut his list to four and didn’t include the Tar Heels.
Turning to baseball, North Carolina went 1-1 this weekend at the College World Series. They picked up another walk-off win on Friday, beating Virginia, before falling to No. 1 national seed Tennessee on Sunday evening. Carolina missed opportunities and has been struggling to put runs on the board. They’ll look to rectify that on Tuesday afternoon in an elimination game vs. FSU.

We're missing key pieces though. We don't have anyone good to protect the rim.The NCAA and ACC in particular is loaded with key big men. We have no one to stop them. Kind of hard to feel good about the rest of the team when our team is missing a true big. I'm still holding out hope though.
It seems priorities of players, particularly those late in the portal, is money and playing time. Winning is moving down the list. Not sure i blame them 100 percent but thats not UNCs way.
I trust the staff in regard to chemistry, etc.
not sure how we missed on the biggest need, a 5, during this transfer portal. we will be playing a lot of small ball.

@@jimrobinson1140 i know nothing about basketball because i stated we will be playing a lot of small ball, our biggest need was a 5 and we missed on all the 5s in the transfer portal? just about all the UNC bball talking heads have been saying this, including locked on heels where I posted my comment. i guess they no nothing about basketball as well. smh.
So they know more than the coaching staff. You and I could do a podcast and say anything about Carolina basketball. Trust me there are plenty of knuckleheads that do.

I'm really disappointed we don't have a rim protector shot blocker or a true to your back five North Carolina make it lucky playing small ball but all the elite teams have a show Nerf center and power forward I hope this recipe works but as a college ball fan we in trouble when we play teams like that if he doesn't get a true threat in the middle .😔😔😔 Concerned

Issac the Duck is a Jeep owner thing. When you drive in a parking lot and see another Jeep you can duck that Jeep by placing one of those rubber duckies on their door. Just a way to bring a smile to their face!
How about we wait until season starts and see how we do. Our team is hardly ever predictable so nobody has a clue of good we can be except our coaches. Have faith and go heels

Hubert seems to have an old school approach. I'm not saying that's good or bad, but this generation wants to be catered to...#NIL... don't think that's happening at UNC.

@MrBmick79 my guess is it's the way they've changed the rules. NIL, Transfer portal, One and done era. Hofers aren't doing alot for college basketball these days.

I enjoy listening to the pod but it's time to be realistic this is going to be a down year coach doesn't recruit well he thinks All his players are going to grow Old at UNC and UNC gets turned down a lot cause the system doesn't prepare you for the NBA UNC needs to get with the modern times like Duke has done
