I've owned this light for a couple years now. It's a fantastic piece of kit, with tremendous ergonomics, small size, high build quality and super performance. I use it as a personal defense tool for when I'm out and about, since we can't carry any other tool for protection where we live. The only thing that I would have to note is the fact that the included holster is too slow to undo when it is used in the role I use it in, but does the job nicely if milliseconds aren't of the essence, the clip on attachment is an adequate substitute. The whole package inspires immense confidence, Fenix really hit it out of the park!
Hey STW, it's very quickly become apparent why these lights and Fenix are held in such a high regard. I've never thoughts about the speed to deployment from the holster. I'll try and keep that in mind in the future if it's something people think about when making the purchase. Thanks for watching buddy. Have a cracking weekend
Hi Sum, I'm like you, i use my Fenix lights for self defense. My 3 last Fenix lights are the TK 16 V2.0, TK20R V2.0 and the latest TK 22 Tac ( favorite ). Now to carry my flashlight, i use the Fenix Quick Release Belt clip ALC-01. I don't use the little rubber band that comes with it because in case of emergency I want to quickly deploy the light and ready to use in about 1 second. I use holsters with all my lights before and I had the same concern about how quickly you can deploy that light and ready to use. Well the Fenix Belt clip ALC-01 does that for you. I don't leave home without it. The reason I have chosen the TK 22 Tac is because of the strong candela for blinding. But they are all excellent lights. I'm at my number 9 Fenix lights.
@@sumtingwong2138 Yes it does hold it securely. Now the 16 is a little shorter than the 20 and 22 so the bezel won't touch the end of the clip but if you force it a bit, it will clip the light in with the bezel touching the bottom of the clip. Now my 20 or the 22 is a perfect fit because the length of the light. I use to carry my lights in a leather holster or the holster that comes with the lights but just like you, it was slow to remove the light in case of emergency. Now beside the quick release clip, your other best bet is to use the clip that comes with the light. That works fine too. But so far , I love my quick release clip and my second choice would be using the clip that's already on the flashlight. Are you in Canada? The reason I ask that is in Canada that's all you are allow to have is a flashlight for protection lol
Hi Jon. You're more than welcome... For a split second I was going to tell everybody to watch your content and then randomly comment what your favourite toy was a kid. If you every get lots of weird 'Love the content Jon, Stretch Armstrong' or 'Amazing content as usual Jon, Playdoh Hair Shop' comments... it's nothing to do with me 😅
I have been eyeing this flashlight for about a month now! After watching 5 other reviews, including the one by Jon Gadget, I think I am finally convinced! Fenix does make really great lights, and this one seems to have really great features and good quality. I think I will definitely be getting this now! Thanks as always for another great review!
You're more than welcome Ashton. I've had so many people recommend Fenix to me and it's daft it's took me this long to check them out. Make sure you come back when you get yours. I'd love to hear your thoughts. All the best fella
@@JonGadget the 20 gets hot super fast, I love the charging port. Think I still might go with the 16. Do you have any other recommendations that are same size, and can hold at least 1000 lm for a good while, and do not get hot fast?
Can confirm, Fenix make really high quality lights. Does this one have a lock-out tailcap? If so this would probably be the perfect EDC and tactical light. Edited to add: this one doesn't but the very similar TK22-Tac does have a lock-out mode-switching tailcap.
Ooooooh... Put it this way, the PD35 is my tactical light of 2022. I know some people didn't like the UI however I was a fan. Size, lumen, function and that super high candela really sealed the deal for me... They're both great lights, however the PD35 is my choice when I go to my torch draw 😊 hope that helps
Hi there. I think that may have been added by the camera. It does have a warmer yellow tone on the lower modes, which burn away quickly on the higher modes. I hope that helps buddy

@@rejeanpoirier6047 Thanks for your input Rejean! In your experience, would you say that the holster holds the light securely without the rubber band?

Thank you Rejean. I really appreciate the sub
Lovely Review Sir.
Thank you my friend
Interesting tactical flashlight. I have more Nitecore ones and some EDC from Fenix but yup very good brand and very good one these :)
Hi Raphael. I've not had a new Nitecore light in a while... That reminds me to see what they have brought out this year. Thanks for watching buddy

I'm a few days behind in getting back to people :D I think Fenix advise the quarter turn technique to stop accidental turn ons
Hi do you recommend the TK16 over PD35 ?

The tint look greenish at least at low mode.

Nah then, ey up me duck. Fenix in my opinion are one of the better brands for good quality torches for sure. 👍
Eu up fella :D yeah, kinda kicking myself for taking so long to get my hands on a Fenix light. Really glad they reaches out. All the best fella
