Wonderful Job. I have a 1980, 1982T, 1983, 1989, 1991 (240) and two 780's 1989 & 1990. I am so proud of what you have done and that you saved that 240. Good Job Brother.
Nice Stable!! Over here in USA got a 1983 245 Turbo, 1991 480 turbo, 1998 c70 5 speed, two 2004 s60r, 2008 c30. Used to have two 780 88 V6 and 89 4 turbo, 84 240 DL, 2006 s40, 95 940
@@ecirlos4902 Are you getting both fuel and spark? What does it do when you turn the key? Have you tried to pump the fuel pedal like crazy when you're starting it?
amazing. even if the Redblock looks that rusty inside, it works again. Have an similar project with a B230F '92 Wagon. A friend rescued it from the junkyard after 11 years not driven. Made an Oilchange and it runs since then. Now I own it and do the other repairstuff.
Thanks! Colorcode is 406-3 (406 is Dark Blue. 3 is paint producer code). You can look it up here: www.volvotips.com/index.php/general/volvo-color-codes/
Dunno, maybe the little sauce gremlins decided to have a bbq party in the cylinder into which they could get by means of an open valve? Possibly, an exhaust valve, since having the throttle closed wouldn't allow for such a pronounced effect?
@@zloychechen5150 Those damn sauce gremlins! They've been trying to reach me to ask if they could have one of their sauce gremlin meetups in one of my cylinders but I've persistently been turning them away and told them to do it in my neighbor's car.
It doesn't surprise me at all. What a great car. Never stops working. Best car ever!

@@ecirlos4902 I also got exactly the same car as you! A 82' 244 GL, cream white
Interior is deeeescent, manual, little know how and elbow grease she's purring. Outstanding find.
Well this was definitely the fastest revival video I've ever seen on UA-cam!
Fantastisk at genoplive sådan en dejlig vogn. Har selv en 240 b230K fra 88, som jeg går og nusser lidt om :-)

I saw the road, the village and the scenery very similar with the scenery in Forza Horizon
The only thing fast on a 240 is how fast you can fix it

Why was there barbeque sauce in one of the cylinders?

The intake manifold is liquid cooled and a defect gasket caused coolant to be sucked into the cylinders. Engine stalled and was just left for 6 years!
haha sa javla nice fix ;DDD
What did you use on the plastic? Was that a heat gun?
Yup :-)
Is it still running?
Certainly! Having it out again this weekend 🙂
