It really feels like they had multiple different animation teams working with varying skills. The Gewehr 43 animation is very fluid and smooth, but then you have the robotic and 3rd person-esque animations of the Sten and multiple other Portal weapons. It’s crazy how BF3 has cleaner and better animations compared to over half of the weapons in a game that came out a decade later.

They should give a new update to improve and make all the animation of weapons more consistent it looks like a modder took assets from different games and animated some weapons by himself with his style and clumped it together with lot of inconsistencies
DICE really should keep to their own style of reload animations. It shouldn't try to become like CoD with all these fancy elite tactical reloads. Previous battlefield games all had really nice weapon animations and yet 2042's weapon animations are just a downgrade, with some trying to be a copy but failing.

animations are fine there not the worst i seen but i seen better sounds are ok not good just ok clarification i just wanna say just so you dont shit on me in the replies the reloads in portal yeah there bad but i think the all out warfare guns ya know the main guns of 2042 there animations are just alright
If you're wondering why some of the portal animations look scuffed and janky, it's because in 3/4/Early 1 The animations were stiff and robotic, and what apparently has happened is the portal aniamtors tried to recreate those styles of animation.
The base 2042 ones are more consistent and solid compared to the others since they where made by people with more animation experience, the portal weapons with 1942, bc2 and bf3 are all nearly Made by probably Ripple effect (previously DICE LA) onboarding new animators with not that much talent yet after their rebranding
I don’t really mind the animations, even though they are kind of stiff I don’t like the World War animations like 1:08 they could’ve taken the same animations from Battlefield V for this animation, but I guess they didn’t want to re-use animations like COD did

the reloads are not bad looking, they're decent i still find threm satisfying but the game isn't good .

Definitely not the reason, some weapons have reused 2042 animations or slightly modified ones.
