you have no control over hips or the leg from pulling back so he'll turn to the right (thats why you need proper hip control nobody good is getting heelhooked without control) defending the heelhook + with your foot and snap your ankle belly down,,, lots of good people play butterfly ashi

All I see is a heal hook.
That's why Gi and no Gi rules should be the same. You wouldn't have them doing a straight leglock and giving a leglock to teir opponent.. it's funny how many videos I see of guys doing leg locks while handing their opponent better leglock. While neither grappler realizes it.
Henry C yeah the bottom hook that he has is right in the armpit. All the guy on top has to do it rip it and get the tap. You are right though if this were no good it would be treated differently. I try to approach both the same when I train.
I do the same. I always treat my Gi and Nogi game the same, so I don't accidentally make a mistake like that. If you ever train at Gokor Chivichyan hayastan mma academy, you won't get away with a mistake like he is doing in the video.
You must know your legs well?
There's no heel hook here. He has no control over Mikey's hips or knee line. All Mikey has to do is literally move his leg out of the way and he cannot be heel hooked here.
