    An improvement I made on mine was to add a second prusik knot onto the rope that you can use like a truckers hitch.

    I like that the tender is sewn in. I got in a tree the other day only to find my beast tender was missing, it's really hard to set that hitch up a tree without it. Having a sewn in one would have prevented that. I switched from using the cam buckle last year and I will never go back. I have heard stories of cam buckles failing, plus you have to silence the buckle and they are heavier. The rope mods also seem to store better with a bungee on the end.

      The tender is a lifesaver! I’ll never go back either. This thing is sweet and if my One sticks didn’t have amsteel included with them, I’d be using the 1/8” ones on my sticks. They’re awesome and totally worth switching. Can’t beat it! Thanks for watching!

    I use the 3/16" Amsteel rope mod with a 1/8" continuous loop as a prusik. Can get my Rzr super tight using the loop as a "trucker's hitch" works great!!!

    I just got one myself, and am having a time to get it to tighten correctly.
    In both of your examples, you were in front of the platform. Try it from the side, like you are standing on sticks.

      After using this so far this season, the biggest thing I’ve found is making sure to work the knot back loose after every hunt. That hitch tightens up solid and if you don’t have it worked loose beforehand, it can be a pain to do up in a tree, especially in the dark. I have attached to trees in multiple positions, directly above my top stick and to either side. I find that I’m tightening it up at first by pulling on the tag end of the main line to get most of the slack out, then if I can I’ll tighten the schwabish hitch with one hand while pulling on the tag end with the other, which seems to get it a bit tighter than just pulling the tag end against the tender. This is all being done with the platform up, by the way. The last thing I do is step up onto the standoff to really seat the standoff, then cam the platform down to finally seat the entire platform. This usually results in a rock solid platform. I hope this makes sense, if it doesn’t I can try to describe it better or do another video to explain it in better detail. Thanks for reaching out!

      I’m right there with you. I can’t get mine to tighten like I would expect.

    Is the material on the hitch amsteel? Is the hitch material a smaller diameter than the rope material?

    • @whitetailaffinity
      @whitetailaffinity  8 місяців тому

      Yes it’s all amsteel. The main line is 3/16” amsteel and the hitch is 1/8”. Thanks for your question!

      @@whitetailaffinity Do the hitches sem to hold with pressure on them? I've never tried making a hitch with amsteel.

    Pretty sure that’s a Schwabisch hitch, which means you don’t have to massage it, it won’t tighten up like the Prusik hitch.

    • @whitetailaffinity
      @whitetailaffinity  10 місяців тому

      You are right, it is a schwabisch hitch, I stand corrected! I didn’t look much into what knot it came with and the way the knot tightens up (we had to work it loose) I just thought it was a prussic. That’s what I get for assuming. Thank you for bringing that to my attention and thanks for watching!

    I have this attachment system and no matter how hard I try I can not get the top of the rzr 1.0 to hold tight to the tree, it does not work and is not worth the money

    • @whitetailaffinity
      @whitetailaffinity  2 місяці тому

      Hey Michael, I’m sorry to hear that. Are you leaving the platform up, tightening the Hang Free, and stepping on the post of the platform before you cam the platform down? This is a common issue with any platform and all attachment methods.

    Where is the prusik knot on those? I watched the video 2 times - didn’t see it?????

    • @whitetailaffinity
      @whitetailaffinity  10 місяців тому

      The prussic is the large knot that slides along the main line. It’s the part that we had to work loose after being tightened onto the tree. I hope this answers your question!

    • @whitetailaffinity
      @whitetailaffinity  10 місяців тому

      I was wrong about that knot being a prussic. It’s a schwabisch hitch. I stand corrected!

    • @whitetailaffinity
      @whitetailaffinity  9 місяців тому

      That’s a bummer! Are you keeping the rope level as you tighten it up? I find it’s close to a true one hand operation, but I still work the schwabisch hitch with both hands to get as tight as I can. I’ll then push down on the top stand-off before camming the platform down and then step up on it and that usually gives me a rock solid platform. Try those things if you haven’t and I hope this helps!

      I can’t get mine to tighten well either. I think you will need to be in front of the platform, which would never happen in a hunting situation.

      It's a quality product, but I just can't get mine tight either. Also the prussic or schwabish or whatever it is, gets tight! If you don't massage the knot loose prior to climbing, you got a fight. Removal is a pain as well cuz now the knot is tight again and needs to be massaged to loosen to get you platform off.
      Again excellent quality product, but I'm to dumb to use it. Used it all season and never hot comfortable with it.

      @jeffjackson4963 I agree, it is a good product and great quality but I just couldn't get it to work properly. It got frustrating. I went ahead and bought the USA from the amsteel guy and that one works better in my opinion.

      Ditto! It doesn’t tighten like a cam buckle or smaller diameter rope.
