Dedication and a creative mind! No really there is no requirement but passion is a must. We have a lot of communication with other companies and always listen to their feedback to constantly improve.
@alyx9999 Hello it means that your finished shots will have random markings on them. It prevents people from using the PLE version on commercial projects as it is just meant for learning.
Awesome. Thanks. That prog is a blast! I read the creative cow tutorial for After Effects guys, just like me. And I gotta say, once you've understood the principles of nodes, it's easy to work with.
Nuke is indeed compositing software. Check out The Foundry's website to find out more. You can also download a PLE (personal learning edition) or email us to get a 30 day fully functioning demo license.
@WalkingXLegend Along the right tracks. Check out the basic tutorials on our website. Go to the home page and then Nuke and the Training Resources option on the right hand menu to get stuck into Nuke. For entry level try the Compositiors' Guide To Nuke further down the page. You can also download our PLE version and learn away. Good luck!
Hello @Kaprah91. All the compositing was done in NUKE. If you think this is good check out the showreels on The Foundry's website. This is a bit out of date now. thefoundrydotcodotuk forward slash showreels : )
Nuke does a huge amount out of the box. To see how much check our out Nuke Tutorials playlist with more than 40 videos showing how to get the best from it. You can however, extend it with bespoke code if you want to. It's entirely up to you. For interesting gizmo sharing etc. take a look at nukepedia.
@coleman265 Hello. Frank Rueter did some tutorials on this for us. You can find them on The Foundry website then click on Training resources on the right hand side / training videos. Then select PRODUCTION WORKFLOWS and you'll find some in there. Hope this helps.
@Genixel Hello. The NUKE PLE is NUKE not NUKEX so you don't get the extra features that it affords such as camera tracker, particles, FurnaceCore etc. There are lots of tutorials on our site to get you started. Look at NUKE then training resources on the right hand side. For importing use the READ NODE. Hope this helps and that your Christmas CameraTracker for AE wish comes true. Hieronymus
@mrftothek Yes, Nuke has a full true 3D workspace for 3d compositing. You'll find lots of training videos on our website the foundry dot co dot uk. Go to NUKE / TRAINING RESOURCES The user guide also has a good tutorial for 3d compositing and you can download either a 15 day fully functioning free trial or a PLE (watermarked personal learning edition) of Nuke to run through the tutorials from the NUKE page. Enjoy.
@Alyx9999 it's themost difficult to remove watermark I've seen. Itsbasically a bunch of constantly moving randomly colored dots. There's a lot and they change constantly.
You could search for tutorials or digital training sites to buy programs that will teach you. Example digitaltutors or cgcircuit. The foundry website also has training on there you could learn for their specific software.
Hello A good place to start is The Compositor's guide to Nuke on The Foundry website in Nuke / Training & Tutorials. The tutorials on the UA-cam channel are also great. Enjoy! The Foundry
Hello Hacker2090 The PLE can be found on the Nuke page of The Foundry website. On the right hand side you'll see the options try, buy, rent. Two options below is the link to Personal Learning Edition. Enjoy!
Heya buddy great tutorial. I have a question. Im trying to import my .mov from my 7D and im getting an error plugin FFmpegReader not found"? Is it becuase i need to import image sequence and not .Mov? How would i convert my video to image sequence?
Hi there! Im thinking about starting to use nuke for 3d compositing. However, I would like to know with what 3d modelling software were this examples done... do u recommend any of the available 3d software to match up with nuke 3d compositing tool?
ISR48L - yes there are a number of college's that teach NUKE, if you provide me which country you're in I can have a look to see if there are any near you. There are a number of online tutorials you can learn from such as fxphd (Watch their Compositor's Guide to NUKE - a series of 8 tutorials, covering the core elements of NUKE), The Gnomon Workshops, CGSociety’s CGWorkshops, Lynda.com, Animation Mentor and Digital Tutors.
I would reply but Foundry took care of it lol! I will add though The Gnomon Workshop has an awesome introduction to Maya, if you're looking to try that software.
How can I get to show the camera to appear as in 1:42? Trying to do a breakdown of a camera projection, but the camera moving itself is not showing, but the object being projected does as well as it's wireframes. If any one can help me that would be great.
i\'ve got a question for all my fellow Nuke users. why is it when i open the project file i get an \"read error permission denied\" or \"no such file or directory\" it happends with all project files. Fxphd, Digital tutors, Lynda Etc...
What are the 3D objects in this video done with? I mean, i thought you cannot actually animate 3d objects in nuke, is it done with maya or something..?
maybe an encoding issue. it's 2012 and nuke still has problems of 90's. my user name contains cyrillic letters and nuke, despite Windows having support for Unicode for a decade, fails to recognize them. so i can't open my documents from within nuke, also it can't remember recent files since it tries to save data to my documents
+B Dennis It does have a 3d environment yes, I'm not well versed on all of it's capabilities but it does support the placement of 3d objects as well as 2d image/film cards. Take a look at 0:56 for example, those soldiers could have been placed in the 3d environment in nuke, using a point cloud generated from the camera track as a reference.
Yes, the music was done in Nuke. A few musical instruments were scanned into the computer and manipulated to create the guitar riffs. An unlimited number of guitars could be created with particle animation, with subtle variations for more realism. The drums also were motion-tracked and enhanced with colour correction techniques to create the most intense percussion.
Why are amazing things so hard to create?! lol I mean, you would think you could create each object and drop it in the map, but no, there's still scripts. Someone need to invent a software where all the srcipts are in files that are in words that describe what the script in the folder will do. So you practically drag and drop.

Hello. The PLE is a learning version of Nuke, fully functioning, but watermarked. You don't need a key to make it work. Have fun!
that Audi one at the end was cool...

Hi renstimpee. The PLE has no other restrictions other than the watermarking. Have fun!
I always wondered what magic is behind this little "snow grade" :D

Nice. Thanks for the PLE. I'm playing around with it now. Are there any good tutorials to get into it?
Can anyone tell me how to add snow on the ground (snow grade in video) by using NUKE?
That kind of grading looks like bleach bypass. Not sure though.
what the music?
it is nuke compositing software
it's amazing. :D
How can I create Avi in Nuke?
Nuke is soo awesome..
Hi everyone .Quick question. Does Nuke have a 3d enviroment like max or maya? This is from someone who coming from aftereffects and Maya.

frame 1:43 just dont make no sense, why they went through all that trouble of composting a park , instead of just going to a real park :/
And the brains behind it.. xD
when a soundtrack makes your million dollar software seems amateur in a few seconds.
Hello, can you tell me what song is it?
+Senego Id"upp in smoke""

was the audio done in NUKE also? if not, which software packages were used to Make this presentation?

i wish I can learn this easily. this is very different from linear compositing :(
digital tutors.com....its good but to unlock everything u have to pay a bit
Or even layer-based
Word.
A sentence.
not all scenes are really a breakdown. I can't even tell for what Nuke was used
It was used to comp everything together lol....
this music ...
