Mr. Denny Laine, such a straight up and classy gentleman. Had the privilege of meeting him and speaking music with him at several Beatlefests. I had taken a couple of album covers for him to autograph, at the time he was charging about 20 bucks for his signing, but when I was about to pay he waved it off and said that he couldn't charge me because he considered me a true fan of his music. I had mentioned to him about possibly talking to his first group the Moody Blues in playing at the San Diego State University outdoor theater in the upcoming summer. He didn't know the venue existed and told him I had seen several groups like Santana play there. The next summer the Moodies played a concert there. Seeing him the next time around at another Beatlefest I mentioned that I had seen the Moodies in concert at SDSU. He said he remembered me telling him that and thanked me for the referral. What A great guy! R.I.P Denny

Denny was largely under appreciated, he was a great musician, singer and songwriter...Paul's wife Linda to stick by him and stay in the band the full run, He wrote song , with and without Paul. Wonder if Paul would have been able to form Wings without him, at least in the form of band it became. It is my impression that Denny was amiable and could work with Paul with ease compared anyone else in the band that came and went. RIP Denny you done good!

The band on the run album from 1973 more than likely wouldn't of happened if it wasn't for denny laines guitar ability.
If not the album, then most certainly the songs underlined guitar parts!
I was extremely lucky my parents, both gone now, brought me up, influenced me on the greatest music that spanned the 1960's, 70's & 80's. Uk.
Music that was from different avenues above anything of today, the talent that makes life so much easier to live.
There will never be musicians that came out of the baby boomer generation like this ever again.

@@jopisano67 To me, denny laine was similar to steve winwood.
2 very young highly regarded self taught musicans with not so quite different backgrounds. Both could pickup any guitar and tune it to their own preference and give it their own personal sound.
Both not wizzard fast players, but on technical grounds they would astound you in minuets with with their excellent tone and abillity

@@jopisano67 Agree. Lets not forget young jimmy mcculloch who also had a lot to do with the sound before his tragic death. The songs juniors farm & helen wheels that most people forget about i think had a lot to do with jimmy. Another extreme talent who certainly gave the band some spark, as after his death one can tell some of the wings sound was gone. Ultimately denny & jimmys playing fused together very nicely as you can hear on wings over america album/live shows.👐🤓

Rip in peace Denny, merci pour les Moody blues and Wings !!!. Why why Denny never near with Paul's last tour 1989-2023 ???. Just for one song?. A real shame !!!!😢

Great bloke….good looking hero…you’ve got to be really good to work with Paul…polish his star ,and give his regards to broad street..he deserves to have a song created in his memory..he lived his life like a telecaster in the wind.and it seems to me..never knowing what to cling to when the broad street street tram comes in…I would’ve liked to know you.but
I was just a kid, your candles burned out long before your legend ever will..

He lived to be 79, had a wonderful life. I liked, Go Now. I liked his opening guitar licks on, Band on the Run. If he was a Christian, you have no need to worry about where Denny is.

There must be a lot of Bilstonians who have managed to live to a similar age as Denny that remember him and the Diplomats at the Town Hall in the early 60's. What a legacy to leave us with such great memories.
