One of the greatest musical moments in human history was Denny Laine singing "Go Now". Let's not forget the great backing harmonies on that record from his band mates. I am so lucky to have been alive during this period of history. RIP
had the pleasure of seeing Denny perform the entire 'Band on the Run' album in 2015 here in Cleveland. What a show! He really loved performing and spoke very highly of his time with Linda and 'Mr.McCartney'!

I remember seeing Denny with my late friend Peter Hunt at the Carlton Club in Erdington Birmingham in the 60s with the Diplmats and the Moody Blues. R I P.
Mr. Denny Laine, such a straight up and classy gentleman. Had the privilege of meeting him and speaking music with him at several Beatlefests. I had taken a couple of album covers for him to autograph, at the time he was charging about 20 bucks for his signing, but when I was about to pay he waved it off and said that he couldn't charge me because he considered me a true fan of his music. I had mentioned to him about possibly talking to his first group the Moody Blues in playing at the San Diego State University outdoor theater in the upcoming summer. He didn't know the venue existed and told him I had seen several groups like Santana play there. The next summer the Moodies played a concert there. Seeing him the next time around at another Beatlefest I mentioned that I had seen the Moodies in concert at SDSU. He said he remembered me telling him that and thanked me for the referral. What A great guy! R.I.P Denny

God Bless Denny Laine’s Wife…. I took care of my lovely wife, Lynn for six years. Lynn was bed bound and like Mrs Laine said it was an honor and a labor of love. I miss you Lynn. I hope to see you soon in Heaven by Grace through Faith. I miss talking to you and touching and seeing you and your wonderful laugh and smile. You were the best wife ever. I will always love you.
I saw Denny in the early sixties at my local youth club in Wednesbury. His group "Denny Laine and the Diplomats" wore black leather and after the show I went into the dressing for autographs, I remember steam coming off the whole group. God bless and RIP to Denny and his family>
Very sad news. Saw Wings in 1975 - it remains one of the most amazing highlights of my life. Denny on the twin neck guitar was masterful. That damned instrument must've been so heavy every night. Thank you Denny for putting up with Paul for so many years.
@@seattlewa8500 Yes - that was pretty much the same show I saw in Sydney in 75. I think Australia was the warm up for that tour. Great night. I have never forgotten any detail from it. Paul has kept elements of that show in his tours ever since.
Denny was largely under appreciated, he was a great musician, singer and songwriter...Paul's wife Linda to stick by him and stay in the band the full run, He wrote song , with and without Paul. Wonder if Paul would have been able to form Wings without him, at least in the form of band it became. It is my impression that Denny was amiable and could work with Paul with ease compared anyone else in the band that came and went. RIP Denny you done good!
The band on the run album from 1973 more than likely wouldn't of happened if it wasn't for denny laines guitar ability. If not the album, then most certainly the songs underlined guitar parts! I was extremely lucky my parents, both gone now, brought me up, influenced me on the greatest music that spanned the 1960's, 70's & 80's. Uk. Music that was from different avenues above anything of today, the talent that makes life so much easier to live. There will never be musicians that came out of the baby boomer generation like this ever again.

@@jopisano67 To me, denny laine was similar to steve winwood. 2 very young highly regarded self taught musicans with not so quite different backgrounds. Both could pickup any guitar and tune it to their own preference and give it their own personal sound. Both not wizzard fast players, but on technical grounds they would astound you in minuets with with their excellent tone and abillity

The songs juniors farm & helen wheels that most people forget about i think had a lot to do with jimmy. Another extreme talent who certainly gave the band some spark, as after his death one can tell some of the wings sound was gone. Ultimately denny & jimmys playing fused together very nicely as you can hear on wings over america album/live shows.👐🤓

Not THE lead singer of the Moody Blues, but the first lead singer, he was with them for the GoNow single and while they opened for the Beatles on 1965 tour, The first classic Moodies album would follow about 18-20 months later. I would say opening for the Beatles was really the apex of his career before he formed Wings with Paul. Was always cool that McCartney would let Denny take center stage for Go Now.
So sad to hear of Dennys passing, such a great musician I had tremendous respect for. He helped me learn guitar with his book Denny Laines guitar book in early 1980s. Always a massive fan of both Wings and Moodies and was cool he was the link
I loved watching him with Wings.The whole group had a chilled and happy vibe with each other and I bet Denny contributed to this with his humour.. His harmony's with Paul were perfect along with his guitar playing. He seemed very happy when he was with Wings and he will be missed dearly. R.I.P

There must be a lot of Bilstonians who have managed to live to a similar age as Denny that remember him and the Diplomats at the Town Hall in the early 60's. What a legacy to leave us with such great memories.

I saw Wings in 1976 at the Seattle Kingdome in the Wings Over America Tour. 65,000 were in attendance. They put on a great show.
