'The best way to earn the publics trust.'
Not a phrase I would associate with a conversation about jail.
Just curious….how does a jail make a comeback? this isn’t a once thriving Applebees
I was tryna escape the whole time
Woahhhh that interactive camera view is super dope
Ye
Yeah Right? Tell me About It.
"innocent until proven guilty"
Bookem they guilty
It should be guilty until proven innocent!!! An innocent person isn't locked up, they need to rephrase that!!!
Two and one-half years in a county jail awaiting a trial date? Excuse me?

You're excused I guess
Leave Chicago get youre life on track and you'll b ok.....how Hard is that .. God om glad I. Focused on money and nothin else

That low level 750 is ''div 4 dorm 4''. It used to be div 2 dorm 4 until they hit a lawsuit and just decided to play musical chairs with the numbering classification to somehow mitigate lawsuit damages I suppose because that building is supposed to be shutdown like a decade ago. That place is loaded with crack and dope.
I think it's cool the way they made the video move with your hand so you can see the whole jail! Maybe other jails should do the same! Other jails should also follow Cook County jail as far as releasing 2k inmates on ankle monitors with non violent criminal cases still pending. Florida last year just put the 65% of time served in affect verses the 85% prior which Cook County was 1of the first to implement that as well. Thank God for a lot of my co non violent drug offender friends here in Florida but I do believe they should release 2k inmates if not more as well on ankle monitors. As long as they're not violent offenders. The meth & fentanyl epidemic is huge here in Florida & I believe we need to build more rehabs. Jail does nothing for these inmates who are basically self victimless criminals. They are only hurting themselves which then hurts the families however only emotionally or financially not violently! I hope Florida will learn from Chicago & California! God Bless!
Makes me wish I was in jail.
New home for juicy smoyay
Worst jail on Earth
ever been to a mexican prison?
Oh shyt touch tha screen
This video is not showing the truth. I seen things in there that were seriously disturbing.
Same thing with the military lol
@@MODERN-GAMING-IS-TRASH Tell me about it!
Two years in jail and he still isn't convicted of a crime. Seems like a state crime.
i hope he sues then.
Things like that are horrible. Obviously if he gets jail time it doesnt matter, but if he is actually not guilty??? Thats so fd up.
That’s literally what happens for almost every violent crime around the country. If there’s a high suspicion of guilt you get no bond and you have to sit until trial. If they let him go before trial and then he robs or kills somebody you’d be wondering why he wasn’t in jail.
By the way this guy in this vid got found guilty for attempted murder and robbery. Most of these guys with these violent crimes aren’t angels and don’t need to bond out. If it’s a low level drug offense or something then sure let ‘em bond out. Otherwise, nah.
It’s been guys in there far longer. It’s terrible.
When I was detained as a kid and as a adult they talk about what are we going do when we get out or what will I do different instead of how can I deal with stress or these everyday situations that make me loose control
You need mental health help.
They need to start realizing mental problems are spiritual. In others words you need God to fix them people can't do this alone.
Yeah, except god isn't real.
yes, and need lots of support all around, and better atmosphere and surroundings. this place seems dehumanizing. that won't help a thing. That may be why the Bible says to visit those in prisons. write, call, send things, etc.
Show cameras in Division 9 to make a point how these jail systems are monstrous.
The system is not working at all. These imates need to be helped!!!
CherryBomb Love Indeed the entire system is broken, but works perfectly for all the greedy making money hand over fist on the backs of citizens.
The failure is the people choosing to break the law. Let’s face it: even though it’s innocent until proven guilty, the vast majority are guilty and will be convicted. I stay out of the justice system by not committing crimes and not associating with known criminals

Been there and I will tell you right here and now that those scanners don't work one bit LMAO!!!!! They really believe that they have a grip on the inmates, but more than half of the officers have ties or are involved with the inmates that they are spouse to be guarding.
oh that's smart. " what are you gonna be in a couple years after high school?" --- "prison guard". "Why" -- " cuz i miss my homies".
Awesome video. Keep them coming🙌👏👏
we're really out here applauding a JAIL as "state of the art" ??
They are bettr off than the thousand of homeless in the USA
Yup 3 hots and a cot
some anyway. others have good weather, etc.
"backed up legal system" sounds like too many arrests.
More like too many degenerates committing crimes constantly.
@@PalashaGabarra Half of the inmates in jail are in for drug possession and that is and should be treated as a medical issue not a criminal issue.
@@varunrajesh6516 There's a difference between possession and possession with intent to distribute. The latter certainly isn't a medical issue. Drug dealers deserve no sympathy. Especially the ones that deal in hard drugs on a large scale.

Juicy will do good here.
That faucet water at the end looked so gross.
Staying always from jail.🤔.
I enjoy Cook County jail its like a mini vacation and entertainment all in one.
is it true about the qtip up the junk when you arrive?
You haven't been on a vacation then 😂
@twinitedkindle5159 you need money to be on vacation. If you're poor just break some laws and you get in for free. They feed you, house you and give you enough amenities and other activities to keep you feeling comfortable. I would equate jail to a summer camp that you can't leave, and you'll end up liking it so much you'll be right back. I guarantee it.
Any prison is not marmalade, you can look at it and reform it endlessly, but it will not be sweet in your mouth ...
That is what human trafficking looks like
Don't smoke crack kids.

Ain’t This Prison in the Dead Center of A Gang’s Territory???
Latin kings and they post outside and let it be known to everyone who leaves the jail. It’s in the middle of their hood so they bang on every single person who comes out that jail. Guys been smoked right outside the doors there

Cook county is a model alright. A model of terrible terrible oversight and decision making.

What is division 11 consist of? just curious to know my ex got locked up back in March and I guess he's waiting on the charge
Let's face it, this is a good video that would have been better without 360. No one has the time to strap their phone to their head.
Jeff Sharp I'm referencing the fact that 360 videos are best experienced with a virtual reality device that allows one to turn one's head to look. A makeshift device of such capabilities could be constructed by strapping (using Velcro or tape) one's phone to one's head, separated by a small distance using a cardboard spacer.

horrible cells! i wonder how many people fall off those skinny beds at night. the top bunk! hard metal corners , and no privacy for the toilet!!!!! etc . It's enough to deprive people of liberty. no reason to subject most of them to any such things. it just makes them less healthy and more neurotic .
Im so happy they have these videos to help young chicago youth understand where they are going and what to expect when they arrive. kind of like a colleage recruitment video but for the hood !! great idea
Everybody they know has been locked up. They know how it is and still don't care. Our culture says you're a lame if you haven't been to jail.

How is it just to jail a man for 2.5 years without a jury trial or a plea deal. So unfair.
Agree friend
The people that make laws sometimes be da main ones breaking da laws, I guess it make sense smh dem people do wat ever they want, definitely UNFAIR
@@antoniofrancis4825 oh no, the jailers do not make the laws!!! but if they break them then they ought to get sued. with an attorney who proved he does it well, and gets paid after he wins (that's how they do it). Paid on contingency, it's called. you can find some online usually.
White devil's behind the desk that's why!

America (USA), instead of Investing in Education, in schools, Elementary schools, Middle schools, High schools, Colleges, community colleges, you invest heavily in Prisons, penitentiaries and jails....you invest in systems that puts people to jail for minor stuff, No wonder USA is the country with the most of it's citizens in Prisons and jails in the World. What a Big shame and an Irony to the so called "best country in the World" such a shame.
lol worry about your own shithole country
and what you talking about so much money is put into colleges here. its also reason why its super expensive.
also jails and prisons have programs but no one wants to do them.
majority are drug offenses (see other countries they give out life sentences for drugs)
majority also violent offenders.
stay in your lane. everyone wants to come here

The best way to regain public trust is to execute violent criminals on conviction..
and require non-violent criminals to watch what happens to violent/career criminals.. needless to say crime would drop across the board..
