    If you're looking for a fast ebike that also gets long range the Wallke H6 could satisfy - it's got a 1600w peak power motor and a reasonably large 2000-ish watt-hour battery mounted in a position that benefits handling. At nearly 100 lbs it's not a light electric bike, but there really aren't any big battery long range ebikes that don't require a huge effort from your legs. Ebikes all have there trade off's, this one has a nice balance of power and range, and it's somewhat portable because it is a folding electric bike, but the large battery hinders that portability - fortunately it is a removable battery since it weighs 20 lbs.

    I love how competitive the e-bike market has gotten. Performance/range seems to keep going up while prices are improving as well. This is good for our future.

    • @RAZORWlND

      True! Did see a video of someone suggesting more of a universal upgradability for all e bikes. I do agree that so many bikes have batteries, controllers, lcd screens, dropout size, racks, lights, and so on that are proprietary. More parts should be interchangeable. 6 different motor cable pinouts, and controller connectors never seem to be the same design, but all do the same functions in the end. So much e waste could be avoided. The second-hand market would be full of interchangeable parts, making DIY and upgradeabilty affordable. Any time I upgrade my bike, it always has to be new parts, and I'm left with not so easy to sell "almost new" stock parts someone could use if they had a broken part and just wanted a cheap used part to get back riding. Sounds great! If parts weren't so bike to bike specific...

      Yep Just like with everything else Competition brings the prices down eventually. There’s just so many e-bikes on the market nowadays, it makes it tough to compare that’s where prices start to come in 😄

    The bike I’d have bought if they sold it in the UK. In the end I built a 50ah Engwe Engine X … managed to do 50 miles on level 5 and I was down to 2 bars, next day switched it on and was showing 3 bars.
    I think 40ah is the sweet spot, it’s enough range, the fact that this bike comes with 4 pot brakes and 203’s shows they care about safety over cost.
    Thing is, what’s the freewheel? It would be great if ebike manufacturers woke up to the fact that 204 bikes need an 11/34 out of the box, pretty much negates the use of a throttle on inclines which would help out us living under draconian ebike laws in Europe.
    Another great review … it’s always sunny in LA.

    They need to offer a version of this bike with just the small battery as standard, with big one as extra. This is a good format for those who plan long trips next summer, as opposed to wanting extra weight every day riding. The smaller battery needs more info/reviews too.

    I LOVED MY H6MAX I got it November 30th 2023 & I hit 1000 miles in less than 2 months. On February 3rd 2024 it was stolen while I was inside a store for less than 10 minutes, I had it locked up with a U Lock but was never able to get it back sadly because the "Apple Find My" built in software didn't work AT ALL. I paid an extra few hundred for this model rather than the other options because of this GPS software specifically & it failed me.. Wallke Customer Support offered 0 help, I was a "Representative" on their website also & the only thing they offered me was "$100 off" so disappointing...

    Have you noticed all the new bikes with big batteries are using Chinese made batteries. I know they are doing this to keep costs down. But in the past everyone was looking for name brand batteries from companies like Samsung, LG, Panasonic for bikes. But now the question is how long will these new batteries last. 30 amp - 60 amp batteries are very expensive to replace.

    So.... is this ebike (I called it a 'scooter' earlier, my bad) legal to ride on public roads in California? I really hope so, it looks very promising for my commute. It's only about nine miles, but there are three significant hills included.

      Why is there so much concern about the top speed of the bike? Matt shows you how to access the settings menu, you can just dial the speed limit of the bike to a class 2/3 speed, if the cops scare you that much. For some people it's preferable anyway, ebikes have an inverse relationship with speed and range where breaking the speed limit will give you diminishing returns.

    • @cynic256
      @cynic256 6 місяців тому

      @@patbaitman3357 because bike trails are also walking trails and going 30mph on a walking trail is dangerous. People are not responsible. Just look at sur ron videos.. People doing wheelies in traffic and running stop lights etc.

    • @patbaitman3357
      @patbaitman3357 6 місяців тому

      @@cynic256 That comment I made was regarding the rider's preference, not for everyone around them. The problem with cops solving the issue by enforcing permits for trails is that, first, they're already pretty incompetent about ebike laws in the first place, as Matt can just scoot by on the trail by lowering the speed and acting normal. Secondly, if they do enforce it for all bikes on the market, someone can make a stealth bomber bike from custom parts and skip registration using a non-serialized bike and choose any speed the battery and motor allows. Third, if the ebike battery is removed, it can become a normal bike and wouldn't be able to go that fast until the battery was inserted and plugged in.
      If you're concerned about your own safety and just need to walk, consider a workout bike at home or a gym membership until this blows over.

It's a feature you can live with because controller will adjust PAS levels down to save battery as you go harder. Can just increase your PAS level. Display/controller should support 9 levels. The bigger problem with display is no watt/amp indicator.

      @@willr3823 It should be fine. I'm 5'5" and I have an aerial rider X-class. The ground to seat on that is 34 inches vs the H9 that is 35.4 inches. I went to the bike store and measured from ground to top of sest (35.4") and rode their display model. It was fine for me. My inseam is 30 inches. If your inseam is lower than that, I wouldn't get it. Added I tested it with thin sandals lol.
      Once I put on my thick Nikes, it will be fine. I ordered mine the other day. Super excited. Good luck!

    Q1. Why couldn't Wallke just have the bike set up for a second battery instead of having to install it yourself? It seems Wallke is charging You for the installation.😢
    Q2. Can You start using Google Maps speedometer (it appears on car mode) We all can relate that way. According to my speed test with Google maps; Wallke's top speed is Exaggerated by 3mi/hr. Google Maps results 30mi/hr Wallke 33/hr.

      Just guessing but I think they assume most people will be more than happy with the range and not shell out the 620$ for the second battery. If that's the case installing the extra parts is a useless expense.

    $1499 for a 40ah 35mph bike. Why all the Wired Freedom fanboys for a bike that goes 3mph faster, half the range and is $2300?

    • @jfly2249
      @jfly2249 6 місяців тому +2

      😂😂This bike looks like a clown car with inferior 20x4 tires and a crap rear suspension. 35mph vs 40mph and the Wired has much better acceleration and hill climb. This one is great for Uber eats, not so much for off road. Just wait until they add a second battery option for the Wired bikes, then it will dominate the long range category as well.😀
