H. + T. seems to be weak from beggining but when you get used to it, it's a wonderful thing. The first heavy attack is perfect against specials (and completing the challenge). Push block + second heavy goes well against hordes of anything. I think the 2H hammer is stronger, but this is more fun. :-D And 1H hammer is better than dual hammers. :-P
The best "buff" to the dual hammers in this patch I noticed is I get way more headshots on these than bardin because I don't have to reach as high :D Honestly like all of his weapons to some degree, even the reskins, just the sound design and visuals make him feel like such a meaty tank class.
1 more awesome thing about Flail & Shield - it has mobility of 1h weapon. 3 dodges of 115% distance, same as dual hammers. The only shielded weapon that is this mobile. And the Holy Greathammer also has +10% crit chance for heavy attacks and third light.
Blocking of a shield, mobility or a 1 hander, and the blocking heavies mechanic of the French Sword. Not to mention it has good stagger. It's the safest weapon in the game! And somehow on top of this they decided to make its charged attacks just as powerful as the shieldless normal flail, giving this thing great offense as well. It can do anything! Why did they make it so good?!?
So, for anyone who's wondering what the hammer and tome's special does (like me), it makes the next heavy attack do something special. If the first heavy attack is performed, Saltzpyre dashes forward with the strike. If the second heavy attack is used, then there's an explosion that damages all nearby enemies.

14:19 as a greathammer enthusiast, can offer an alternative version of this one. After the initial Heavy-Heavy-Light combo you might occasionally switch it up for a Light-Heavy-Light if you’re fighting mixed hordes in there. Replacing the final light with a special works fine, too, but the initial overhead light attack does also offer a lot of damage potential that you really shouldn’t sleep on. If you have the horde staggered from the initial combo, you can get that overhead in for an elite pick so that you can get through it faster. You can also spam heavies for the same effect if anything, but that’s not recommended, the final heavy attack takes a while to execute and you usually get hit before you get to lower your hammer. Also for the light-light-heavy, be careful with it, it’s really slow execution time is a liability when fighting multiple enemies, it’s most effective on lone elites (and never berserkers or monks) or on bosses when not taking aggro. The massive damage is really good, but the timing and dodges need to be on point. For the primary horde killing combo this might occasionally be an issue as well, watch out for your positioning as getting cornered will get you killed, your attacks are simply too slow to cover that much area. Another interesting quirk is that running opportunist and prayer of might for extra stagger can get you some really interesting stagger breakpoints, like your first two heavies or even the first light occasionally staggering berserkers (but do be careful with that, their animations make the timing for that really annoying to deal with). Running prayer of might is basically a must with the greathammer most of the time anyway, as you really need the extra stagger to compensate for painfully slow attack speed. Not even swift slaying or attack speed bonuses will get you there.

I just started playing, and I got the warrior priest. I am trying the combos for the flail and shield but I can't find in the Keybinds what button Push attacks or what cancels.
push attack is performed by holding your block and then proceeding to holding attack without letting go of block. Essentially holding in first right mouse and then both mouse buttons. Block canceling is simply performed by quickly clicking block (right mouse button) to reset a sequence. Hope that helps! :)
I only discovered that the flail/shield blocks while charging for heavy while a gunner was unloading on me and nothing was getting through...if they haven't fixed this by now I don't think it was unintended lol.

Flail and Shieldis definitely my FAVORITE weapon for this career, I love great hammer too but it feels tad too slow and not very safe when it comes to dealing with hordes, even with the strong cleave. Flail and Shield is just a defensive powerhouse, just keep that charge attack up and running, watch out for some cheeky swings here and there and ur set, no hordes can break you unless there are several CWs in the mix which can get tough but still managable with how strong the block is, an overhead attack from CW does like 0.5-1 shield to your block haha. Great hammer is definitely the best on Zealot, IMO I feel like it's even better than Billhook haha but I cant really say
Years late, but the Paired Skull-Splitters are not an exact clone of Bardin's hammers. I tried them and thought something was off because they just felt worse than Bardin's. Turns out, they are a bit different. The heavies are pretty much exactly the same, but Saltz' L3 has a steeper angle that cleaves less to the left, and the L4 in Bardin's Armoury listing is real. If you do LLLL you'll notice Bardin does the normal L1-L3 sequence (with the last light being more horizontal than Saltz') but puts in a fourth, very horizontal swing. Saltz doesn't do that, it's a very repetitive one-two-three pattern while Bardin light spam seems more irregular. So they are worse, at least a bit.

@@ThePartyKnife I think youre overvaluing the AoE. Ive tried testing it with damage numbers on modded and the aoe doesnt scale with absolutely anything (not with power vs, not with any talents) and does 12 damage on average depending on distance, if theyre even a tiny bit further away its like 5. If the damage doesnt change against armored then armored skaven are your best target due to low health on armored enemies. Even against chaos trash youre not gonna do much with it. The highest ive seen the aoe do was 24 and im not sure if that was a crit or if i actually managed to get minions to stack on top of each other perfectly or if i just made a mistake. You cant chainstagger with heavy2 because of how slow the windup is either and the stagger isnt even super mega strong in the first place without talents/traits. The pushattack is the best button. Add in the fact impact damage on neither the lights nor the heavies are all that good and youre left with a fun gimmick imho. And that gimmick is only useable by a pretty mediocre double melee class. Meh >_> Idk - missed opportunity imo.

2h Hammer from Kruber or Bardin is the same with the cleave/power vs a Stormvermin group. The new hammer is more complicated. Thats it. I really like the Tome. Yiu can stagger a group of Knights on Cata with no problem. You can perma stun them. The time to charge up and hit them is enough before they can attack you. And the travel speed is a plus as well.

Meh >_>
Idk - missed opportunity imo.
How do you get that helmet?
How do you get the white armor in thumbnail?
How do you get red weapons so fast ? Red items dont drop for me and i dont even have enaugh dust to make one for myself..
Sorry for a kind of silly question but how did you get that hat on WP? Mod I assume?
How to get full helm?
th 2h hama seems shorter then the krub one
Haha 😂 not as short as Bardin though!
Idk if you noticed but you didnt create a tab for the tome and hammer. Its under the holy great weapon section.
How do you "read the ultimate"?
Wooooooooyeeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhh baby that’s what I’ve been waitin for that’s what it’s all about ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Aww thanks!
might be a stupid question but how are you wearing shade's executioner helm? is it dropable for warrior priest or is that a mod?
how do you get that golden armor?
block with shield always feels better then block with sword, krub holding an ox guard against a cw overhead should really be ded krub. unles they added an autocounter to proc with block connect or special button add, but i dont know how to code so i'm happy with what we have. EDIT!!!! Use special button to prime that book charge.
Haha yeah that is true! :P I think the new flail and shield is super stronk!
What is Hammer and Tome like Vs Chaos Warriors? We know Fire Flail is amazing with it's Heavy 1 stagger on them even over heads, is this H&T similar?
Honestly flail and shield is elite.
I still don’t know which weapon for monster damage. I mean he is not great at Monster damage at all. But right now from just farming chests on leg I feel at least the Great hammer light light heavy did. the most. Somebody any other experiences?
what are those cosmetics?? :o
awesome video 👍
How do you find games with Salzy boi now? 😭
Where is my build guide, M'Lord!?
2h Hammer from Kruber or Bardin is the same with the cleave/power vs a Stormvermin group. The new hammer is more complicated. Thats it.
I really like the Tome. Yiu can stagger a group of Knights on Cata with no problem. You can perma stun them. The time to charge up and hit them is enough before they can attack you. And the travel speed is a plus as well.
Charging the tomb with the weapon special doesn't slow your movement like charging the tomb with a heavy attack,
No blessed tome!?
He set up the time stamps incorrectly. The tome is at 18:00
Kinda looking forward to a flying hammer of sigmar, :cough: Thor.. A boomerang mechanic..😅
Hahaha that would indeed be glorious! :P
Me: Hey Victor! PartyKnife has a review about you on this computer! Its really great!
Victor: WHAT IS THIS HERETICAL DEVICE?!
Me: It conforms to the laws of nature and is an invention. It's not magic.
Victor: Mmmm. I see. So what does he say? Do I really look like that? What's that? *Turns away to listen* Oh, Sienna's wants his phone number.
If the pope is the image of a warrior priest, I am a best of khorne
16:40
This weapon speical is also a key part of the Orki's challege.
"Sweet Science."
A Chaos warrior has punched you! Punch him back!
Of course, dwarf hammers look better. :-P
:DDDDDD
book + hammer looks too overcomplicated
So after years if Zealots totally misunderstanding how bardin works and loudly voicing that speed and utter chaos and total lack of crowd control and total lack of positioning are essential...ya finally rewarded him by giving him bardins weapons sets... *golf clap*
Thing is though, the fact that his weapons are basically op versions of the dwarves weapons it makes playing slayer kinda pointless now. Unless you really don't want to use blunt weapons for some reason having this dlc has rendered my slayer unsatisfying. Also the little gold flashes you get when you aggro build up and your drowning in rats looks absolutely nuts. Like jeez if your prone to seizures the battle priest is nit the class for you xD nah honestly it's amazing I love haha
Nah, Slayer still have a lot better elites and monster dps lol
Tbh, they both serve very different role, a good slayer will wreck havoc to all hordes and elites alike, while good WP will making sure the team staying alive and safe
@@kaje3435 ^ Yeah pretty much this. Warrior Priest may have some of Slayer's weapons, but they still preform better on Slayer. Zealot with dual hammers comes pretty close though.
Yea, WP doesn't have as much boss damage as Slayer or Zealot. Learned that the hard way against a bile troll lmao
@@kaje3435 slayer is a lil gimpy boi always taking a dirt nap xD
Slayer makes Zealot pointless.
Den der danske accent altså
All I see is breakdowns and weapon showcases nobody is exposing or showing how tf to upgrade the warrior priest weapons I’ve literally done everything I’ve found. Taking the weapon off my class to upgrade but it’s not there I’ve crafted new hammers but it won’t let me change the rarity this game is actually dog shit when it comes to explaining things
This character has completly no dmg. Its just so sad after the kirillian sister of thorn. Shes complelty broken, and then this. I hope sienna is gonna be good
Still feel that the tome is more of a meme weapon. Awesomely-looking and fun, but way too niche. Flail and shield however.. they may be more boring, but also way more practical.
If you charge the tome with special attack while not fighting you'll find it to be a much better weapon as a fast combo opener with the AOE stagger and good speed with the attack dash. WP spamming attack dash with tome is almost the fastest Salty career only 2nd to zealot with billhook.
Also it's uncharged heavy attacks come out pretty fast so its decent against chaos warriors. Just switch to your other melee if you don't have time to charge the tome.
