That's awesome man, I didn't know about the air volume stuff or that you could open up a shock like that! Gonna have to check mine, I definitely don't dial in my settings enough and I've seen my o-ring all the way at the top/bottom before and it's always concerning lol.
Yeah, it’s intimidating until you do it and then you realize it’s nothing😁. It took me 10 minutes to swap my volume reducer and get it back up to speed. My “trail” bike is smoking’! 😁
I'm 220 pounds in USA 🇺🇸 speak. I've been trying to tweak my shock with great results. I had to add 1 volume spacer to my Rockshox Select shock. I reset my sag, set my rebound and hit the trails armed with a notepad. I changed the rebound settings backwards and forward until I found the sweetspot. The difference is Chalk and Cheese. I heard somebody say, "Too many people would just change their shock without exploring the settings on their old one and probably wouldn't explore the settings on the new one either". I know a few guys that haven't touched their shock from new. They don't even own a shock pump.
I like that concept of bunny hopping for compression, never seen anyone else do that. The closest trail with extreme of every kind of terrain is 6 hours away for me. My shock is dialed but still trying to get perfect with my grip 2 damper on fork.
Great info. I'm curious if you have access to the Shockwiz? Curious to see you think the results and recommendations are in line with your settings. I hear some bike shops will rent them.
I WAS the set and forgetter. But after getting a new full-supension and seeing your videos, I am the set and forgetter but with a very fitting set-up😄 Thanks for your videos man, I'm gonna recommend you to my friends that are set and forgetters with no concept but air pressure😝

@@TrailBreaker yeah I know that feeling I used to work on cars a lot. I'm guessing the process would be the same on my Rockshox Monarch?
@@DirtTrampMTB Exactly! All shocks operate the same...just slightly different numbers

I agree! It's not hard at all and you can make any shock ride better

Thanks! It at least gets you in the ball park. That Grip 2 looks sweet but I imagine it might be a bear to get dialed😀
Great vid. 🚴
Thanks 👊👍

I haven’t checked yet but I think it’d be really helpful for a higher end shock like a DPX2 or Super Delux. It does look cool though 👊
Have you EVER opened up your shock? Are you a fiddler or a "set and forgetter"?

Had to go back to work 🙁
