To prefer Caruso is No Crime......-:)! Cheers.
That said and given his popularity then and now: THAT'S A CRIME!
He incorporates technical qualities of Caruso Gigli and Bjiorling way before Bjiorling. I would not be surprised if Bjiorling learned to Sing listening and learning from him. The vibratto is good, the tremmelo I hear is from the record. As far as overall singing abilities he's a Delmonico, Tamanio type sound with Gigli, Volpi and Bjiorling technique and Caruso style of interpretation and phrasing. Phenomenal Talent! Too bad he is forgotten....
Bjiorling definitely has elements similar Technically to Francesco Merili.

Terrific voice, I just am not a fan of the use of as much Vibrato as he used. prefer Caruso.
