- It has been since I have upgraded to Sync 3.4 system on 2019 Ford Mustang GT. Sync 3.4 upgrade on my Mustang GT was really easy to install and has added new features not found on sync 3.3.
While the update to sync 3.4 is a relatively easy process, many people do not want to upgrade due to potential Sync issues. Since I have had the Sync 3.4 upgrade for 1 year, I figured I would give my impressions.

I noticed for CarPlay it connects pretty much 100% of the time when I turn Bluetooth off on my phone before starting. I’m getting a wireless CarPlay adapter soon so hopefully it works flawless
I actually got a wireless car play adapter that works pretty good! I have a video on that as well.Wireless carplay is such a blessing
Have you checked to see if you have any fluff in the charging port on your phone, bit late 😊

my AppleCarPlay seems to work best if the phone is unlocked, and then close the phone once sync is connected. not connecting is random on my system too, but also wakes up if i switch from dash to armrest USB… most of the time.
Yeah my car play acts up too but idk if it's just my phone or what. I have tried other iPhones they connect perfectly fine
Cool to see some Merkur owner's out there. Owned a Scorpio from new for 11 years. Loved that car. Replaced it with a 01 Bullitt.

When I upgraded to SYNC 3.4 it looked much nicer in dark blue, however I have since lost all my Radio Station Logos. Ford won’t let me download it again because it’s already updated. Has anyone else had this problem?
No clue on that one. Are those radio icons from sync or the radio station?
Not sure, but they were definitely all there before. In Sync Radio settings there is a toggle switch for Radio Icons on or off but when I check this, it makes no difference. Oh well thank you anyway.
On night mode, does it make the colors on apple carplay dark too like for google maps/ waze? Or is that independent?
I believe that’s independent in car play setting

Any trouble with the dimming issue? Like the screen flicker when the screen start to dim.
Nope I haven’t experienced anything like that it dims fine for me. Does yours happen all the time or only occasionally?
Hello how did you manage to update the sync finding it very difficult to do so on Mac
Which part is not working?
Tried and tried using mac to update my 3.0 to a newer build and could not do it. Used my windows PC via usb stick and it updated no problem. I don't know what it is about the mac on this. Looking to do 3.4 up grade after one failed attempt. Thought I bricked the unit. I believe I removed the usb stick before it finished loading all the files. Had a blank screen that finally came back after several cycles of on/off's with the ignition.
