Can you project streaming video on the upper screen? For now, I feel like the passenger section of the upper screen is pretty much useless besides showing some basic stats. Hope Lincoln will improve this soon.
I wish! Unfortunately it's only video in the lower screen for now. Hopefully Lincoln opens that up.. or someone finds a way to tweak the system to allow it ;)
Thanks, but you covered the bottoms on the main home screen with your fingers or moving too fast...trying to slow down my screen feed to catch more of your instructions but I did get a lot of them...maybe try sectioning the more intricate instructions as this is a lot to absorb...
Steve, you give instruction like I do. Because you know what you’re doing you go too fast. When you say push this button your to fast for me to see what you push. Can I now say forgive me to all that I have done that to in the past.
And here I was thinking I was speaking slowly. It's honestly painful for me to speak this slow but I'll take note of that and try to slow er down a bit when I eventually re-shoot this video!
Thanks Patrick! It is pretty wild where the screens are now. Android OS is pretty neat and I love all the new flexibility. It would be great to see a car fully utilize Apple OS though ;)
@@CarsWithSteve I have to admit my bias. I've been a Samsung fan for decades when it comes to phones and tables so I appreciate it when Android systems get shown a little love. 🙂
is it possible to disable the live location access through lincoln way app on the car it self? Like is there a setting on the car that doesnt sent live location to the app, if so what is it?
There are some settings that can be disabled on the screen through Settings --> Privacy and Data Sharing. But the idea behind the Lincoln Way app is to be able to see your vehicle's location so that can't be turned off
I have tried with my phone plugged in. I am wondering if I have some setting set wrong. It shows up on the lower screen but still does not show up on the upper. Nothing shows up.
If you're going through CarPlay and you're actively connected to CarPlay like I show in this screen, when you set up directions through your phone or this screen it should mirror automatically. I'll have to do some more digging the next time I'm in a Nautilus and see if I can re-create the issue and find a fix
This is a really nice, full featured system. Seems so much better than the new system from Lexus.
Haven't had a chance to dive into the Lexus system myself but this new Lincoln one is great. Have to love Android Automotive OS
ProTip: Don't let smelly people in the car.
HAHA, best way to guarantee you won't need to use the digital scents

I'll take that into account the next time I shoot a video on this system

But let me say thanks these instructions are very helpful.

Can you use CarPlay with a cable for stable connections and better audio quality?
Yes you can!
Great overview, Steve! We've come a long way from the 5-button AM/FM radio featured in cars as recently as the 90s.

I don't think I show Android enough love in my videos, as I use a 6 year old Samsung in my videos
@@CarsWithSteve I have a 5 year old Samsung S10+. Its probably time to upgrade, but this is the best smartphone I've ever had.
Haha in my mind.. if it's not broke I don't need to fix or replace it
Awesome video.
Thanks Luis!
@@CarsWithSteve My pleasure
Can you get us a list of the apps that will NOT work while the vehicle is driving please?
It's really just video playback and gaming apps that won't work while the vehicle is in motion. Audio and map apps will work no problem!

Is your phone just plugged in or are you running through Android Auto or Apple CarPlay?

Steve, how do you get waze navigation to show on the upper screen?
A map with an active route going on your phone should automatically shoot up to the upper screen. Does it work ok with Google Map and Apple Maps?
I can get Google maps and Apple Maps but not Waze to shoot up to my screen.
@@CarynSchultz-y1pHave you got Waze navigation shown on the upper screen finally? Thanks
Yes, same question and problem here!
