Ahhh I did indeed find your EDMUNDS ROSES Unboxing video ......Sorry to say, but I have not had the same positive experiences you have had with Edmund's.....I ordered my roses in December 2022. According to their shipping schedule for my Zone 7, I should have received my order by 3/31/23. As of this date (4/8/23) I still don't have my order. I'm not happy with their Customer Service either. I need to find another - small vendor perhaps - for purchasing roses in the future. Thanks for this unboxing.

I hope they sent your roses eventually & that none of them were dead, like one that I got.

I recently had a most unsatisfactory experience with Edmunds. I ordered 3 roses, 2 were tiny--about 4 inches tall w/only 1 live cane, but they grew fine for such tiny roses. The other had 4 large canes which were green but looked old & weathered. I followed their instructions exactly except that I potted it b/c June isn't a great time to plant bareroot. It never had so much as a bit of growth, neither the canes nor the roots. When I contacted Edmunds, I was told it was my fault for a whole list of things (none of them true), they were very condescending about how their horticluturist could give me advice on how to grow bareroot roses (something I've never had a problem with before) & refused to refund my money. I won't be ordering from them again.

You sure didn't stand behind your product for me. Never ordering from you again.

I’m shocked. I’ve ordered from Edmund’s four times in the last year and they came packed in the damp sphagnum and the roots were not dry at all. All my roses are doing great with the exception of ebb tide, which I gifted to my neighbor who isn’t exactly green fingered. If anyone wants an absolutely enormous bloom, give Bride’s Dream a shot. I’ve gotten 6” blooms.

Hi! Thanks for this video. I’m thinking of ordering from them and I was hesitating since they have mixed reviews online. Would you be able to give me an update on how the easy does it roses did or for that matter all the roses from Edmunds. Did they recover from the dry roots? Are they thriving in the garden? Also, I’m seeing that this rose is good for zone 5-9 or 6-9 depending on the website I’m looking at. Would you be able to clarify that as I’m in zone 6a Michigan so 6 makes me a bit nervous!Thank you so much for putting out all this information out there. I truly appreciate it.

The Easy Does it did recover and has been a great rose for us! Looking at the Week's website, there isn't a zone listed but says "perfect for every climate". This rose is a powerhouse. I wouldn't hesitate to try.

This is wildly informative. You should make a public google sheet or something where you show your roses so we can follow along with their progress!

Edmunds has been my favorite bare root rose provider since the 1980s. I've never had an issue with their product. The roses arrive in great condition and thrive beautifully here in central MS Zone 8b

I ordered 6 roses from Edmund roses this spring 2024. I had read reviews of extremely rude and unhelpful customer service. Experienced it myself with two representatives that wouldn’t listen to what I was saying, talking over me and wouldn’t give their name when asked! I am shocked. The customer service has been the RUDEST I’ve ever come across.
BUYER BEWARE! I will NEVER buy from them again.
I ordered from them because they were the only company that had those particular roses. 2 out of 6 plants did not thrive. Took care of all of them exactly the same and planted in the exact same location.
I have ordered a lot of roses from different companies with great healthy plants and customer service.
    These guys are a joke!

Thank you for sharing your experience so that others can decide if they want to give Edmunds a try. I hope your other 4 do well this season.

I’m not sure what happened but all 4 of my bare root roses were substandard. One of them only had 2 small canes. I called the company multiple times and was put on hold for over 20 minutes and finally gave up. They finally gave me a refund on 2 of them.
I ordered plants from 4 other companies and Edmonds was the worst by far in terms of quality and customer service.

That 'Scentuous' has a very high graft. Be sure to let growers know that high grafts waste the best soil space. Short grafts utilize the best soil space.

Is there a difference from buying bareroot roses that are own root vs grafted? I don't think I've ever bought an own root bareroot rose.

    • @TheRoseGeek
      @TheRoseGeek  11 місяців тому +1

For bare roots : the own root may be smaller than grafted for the same variety at the same age.
Both (own and grafted) are grown for two years before being sent to you.
They should both be graded on the same scale (grade 1= three canes the size of a pencil). Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. One vendor likes to say they aren't graded on the same scale.....they are!
Some roses were not meant to be own root and they may not perform as well. How will will know which perform well on their own roots? Trial and error.
The roses that I am growing on my waterfront garden this year are one year old and they look fully mature at 4'+. They are Parfuma Bliss, Top Cream, Bolero, Sweet Mademoiselle, Liv Tyler, Raspberry Cupcake, Dee-Lish, and Princess Charlene De Monaco.
Let me know if you have any other questions. All the best Rose bud.
