💯 at the end of the day, styles are just a container for principles which can be universally applied based on application and context. Keep up the good work.
Yes! I was gonna ask for wing chun for wrestlers. Honestly I haven’t been notified of your updates as of late, but now imma make sure I’m updated of your good stuff.
I really don't understand why people feel like they need to stick to a format of style when everyone knows that pretty much all martial arts even before what is called MMA was mixed into what works. Great work
The skills of Wing Chun are much better suited for grappling (while standing) than they are for striking exchanges. People should learn Boxing skills if they want to effectively deal with incoming punches.
Great WC Subject! I like to go against grapplers/wrestlers/bjj with my wc and you are showing how to do it. Due to growth of MMA/BJJ more and more people will rely on grappling. If you do WC, or are going to teach WC, you better learn how to deal with grapplers. Right on!
I've never done any wrestling, but I recently took up Judo (a good club opened ten minutes walk from where I live). Yes things are different, but it's bizarre how helpful having done Wing Chun in the past has been.
Awesome Stuff! Honestly when I saw the title of this video, I knew it was gonna be some dope stuff! If Sifu Francis Fong can make Wingchun work in grappling, I'm pretty sure Izzo can too! I'm definitely finna use this 👌
Thanks for doing this, I'm learning Wing Tsun and trying to tell my 13yr old who's been wrestling for 3 yrs. That you can use Wing Tsun in wrestling. Please keep doing more of these videos
My Wing Chun teacher talks about how the Seung Gaan and the Dai Bong are used to prevent a shoot from connecting to your core on the low line, and that it's important to keep a wrestler away from connecting to your core. For me, I've been trying to run takedowns during chi sau so that people see what is possible, and what they have to defend against.
interresting, I am studing using wrestling on my boxe (grap to strike), never think about use Wing chung to wrestle (strike to grappling) even if here in my university every wrestler strike during the fight
Wing Chun has the 5 elements of Martial Arts. Wrestling has only the Earth element. I studied for 4 years Gary lam lineage. And it is like science of body mechanics.
I've been coaching wrestling for 40 years and did not realize i have been using Wing Chun techniques all this time.. when i push , cross face, head snap etc i always refer to Bruce Lee one inch punch and how we can use this in wrestling.
People also forget how useful Chi-Gerk is for grappling counters, I shut down whizzer Kicks/UchiMatas with good leg entanglement from Wing Chun and other Kung fu styles
Awesome! I've been using wing chun in wrestling and Jiu-jitsu for many years now. It gives me an edge even though I'm not the best at those styles. Looking forward to more videos on this subject.
It doesn't surprise me that Wing Chun training has application to grappling. But nothing I'm seeing here is unique to Wing Chun. See Erik Paulson. Some of the details, especially visually, are different, but they look more like minor variations instead of something fundamental missing from many experienced grapplers training or knowledge. YMMV, it will depend on the style and context. US College wrestling vs. Olympic Greco-Roman vs. Freestyle, BJJ, ADCC etc. I am happy to see you and Kevin Lee exploring and demonstrating how Win Chun can be trained and implemented into live fighting.

Now I remember reading where the art of Praying Mantis Kung-fu has wrestling and grappling moves in it's art . Along with joint locks , wrist locks , throwing techniques as is found in Judo or Hapkido . And of course lethal blows to the neck or throat . What is your opinion of mixing Wing Chun with Praying Mantis techniques ? Your response would be greatly appreciated . Thank You .
Why wouldn't wing chun have wrestling? Fighting is punching, kicking, wrestling. Wing chun is probably the 1st MMA, as most of its techniques were borrowed from other styles!......"you must unlearn what you have learned" lol.......great video!
@@IzzoWingChun The WC people get very upset when I do it, they have to kill the messenger and they start calling Leung Ting names and claim we invented it all, as if that is a bad thing? I have hundreds of videos on it already.... I like your video, but I see it as "How Wing Chun can be used to wrestle." There is a ton of wealth in chi sau training for wrestling and grappling. Great stuff. WT also promotes the concept that Chi Sau is the enemy of grappling, and can be ahead of it, prevent it, and allow the Chunner to remain in their skill set while avoiding the wrestlers advantages. It is the same fallacy arguement as, "There is no such thing as anti-grappling, it is just the same as grappling." This is incorrect, as WT does not teach grappling, it is a Chinese boxing art....it is something totally different, just as Biu Tze is totally different than Bil Jee. If people get that about the third form, they do WT already. If they do not believe it is possible that Leung Ting was smarter than others and created a better Yip Man Ving Tsun for the public, nothing I do will change their bias. But I do have a dozen videos waiting to be uploaded,....one of them is an inch punch reponce to one of your vids even. I will put some up today.
This is actually the main problem I have when people say that windshield has anti grappling techniques Because a lot of it just involves clinch fighting. Those are just grappling techniques, I feel like its selling They are short and acting like it doesn't have its own grappling techniques because it does. And they work really well.
It's kind of weird because I've been using wing chun techniques in grappling for a long time, And I don't see the things I do as anti grappling, I just see them as wing chun techniques that are useful for grappling, Just like how wrestlers have clinch fighting techniques that are good for Thai boxing, No one calls that anti Thai boxing techniques, It's just clinch fighting
Even wild sloppy striking will knock people out cold. Even though it’s bad for control the physics of mass and momentum ensure maximum power transfer so this whole centerline and the weight distribution associated with it makes no physics sense to me. I think practical applications will easily weed out theory from reality. BTW not once did they grapple in this video.
I think you guys are delusional. Hand fighting and holding position are the true foundation of wrestling. Making pressure and reacting to pressure is the prerequisite to all moves taught in wrestling. Your analysis of wrestling tells me you don't understand it.
Basic human movements and the concept of a center line = wing chun. Got it. Dude, your art can't be everything all the time. You kick and punch people. That's cool. But it ain't wrestling. Dallas Cowboy linemen were taught FMA movements by Inosanto to cheat (not using that word negatively) off the line in the 70s, but FMA isn't football. You are making some large leaps in logic here. Love your channel though!!!

Wing Chun is actually easier to apply with wrestling then striking.
Wing Chun with a wrestling background is a hell of an interesting concept.
The skills of Wing Chun are much better suited for grappling (while standing) than they are for striking exchanges. People should learn Boxing skills if they want to effectively deal with incoming punches.
The "youtube we're back" hit me with a nostalgia punch HARD
Thank You Dom!!! You are loved!!!

I love judo. So wing chun has helped you with judo? That actually makes sense as wing chun is all about using your opponents energy against them
Glad you're back.
This is awesome and i enjoy seeing this and thanks for making this video.

Please keep the wrestling videos coming
Great content. I like your open minded effective Wing Chun concepts. Always following from Namibia, Africa.
When I was training with Larry Hartsell, the Wing Chun was a component of 'anti-grappling". Good topic!
Good luck with that...
Cool stuff!
Please continue with this series
This will be interesting to see. Ive seen people do a little grappling with wing chun but applying it to wrestling is an awesome idea.
Thanks for doing this, I'm learning Wing Tsun and trying to tell my 13yr old who's been wrestling for 3 yrs. That you can use Wing Tsun in wrestling. Please keep doing more of these videos
From what ive heard, wing chun is for grappling... its litteraly made to be in grappling distance.

About freaking time you upload
Great video. This stuff has complimented my stand up Jujitsu immensely. I'm actually annoying higher belts because they can't begin their ground game.
Yesssssssss very excited
My Wing Chun works very well.
nice
Wingchun is everything. As above so below
Excellent applications
Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great stuff!!! :)
Thank God in Jesus Christ name
okay, this is interesting. i hope you explain like this, and show more in actual sparing.

Have you ever talked about the Wong Shun Leung lineage?
Do you know of a good wing chun school in the Richmond, VA area?

Can someone explain snake crane wing chun to me please
Just use chain punches.
You mean a close range style, focused on trapping and balance is easy to tranfer in wrestling? No way...
How about in real time now? Unfortunately that’s where everything falls flat on its face.
Because 90% of you miss the point and just want to see "sparring". Go take what we teach and try to apply it. It makes no difference what I can do.

Saying WC guys only kick and punch is like saying a wrestler only suplex people.
