Thanks for the Tech Talk:) I have this freezing being dropped off on Saturday and I'm looking forward to having a large freezer out in the garage. Half a beef coming first part of January and I see a lot of grilling in my future🙂

Just had this freezer delivered today, we originally got the 17.3 , this was was not working well from the start then stopped a tech replaced it and it lasted for about 10 hours, it was tough trying to keep the 17.3 freezer some what cold, so that is going back and we have this big boy, and with the two next to each other wow this one is really big

I hope you have better luck with this one! I have really good luck with it (knock on wood) so far! I know others have had issues. Let us know about your experience once you've had it for a while! Best Regards - Bruce & Keith

what temp do you set yours at? Mine is currently at zero (says the door)

I keep mine at -5 F. Not sure I need to, but I like to minimize the chances the ice cream does any melting and I like to get it to temperature as quickly as possible after getting it from the store. I haven't noticed excessive freezer burn, so I have stayed on that temp since we purchased it.

    Does it come in black?

Unfortunately, it does not. I checked and it appears none of their upright units do.
Thanks for watching and the question!

Had a Kenmore and had nothing but issues with it getting stuck on defrost. I believe that's what was happening because I would have to unplug it and re plug it for it to work again. Ruined $1,000 of food.. now I'm looking and this is what I want, but people talking about issues is keeping me from buying it.. I wish these freezers would just be bullet proof like they used too..

Ahh yes, the good old days! The freezer this one replaced was over 30 years old. This one is unlikely to get anywhere close to that kind of life.
But, so far (knock on wood) it has been problem free for us. The only issue, and it is relatively minor, is the door handle likes to come loose (primarily on the bottom set screw). I believe it is a function of the incredible suction force holding the door closed. It takes some real effort to open it. As a result, it also slightly damaged the upper screw mount to the door handle - this is plastic, not metal. I did some in the field fixing of it and hopefully that does it.
I do recommend an extended warranty with today's appliances because of their expense and relative fragility. If you get one of these units, let us know how it goes for you!

Buyer beware, I had this freezer for 3 years, too many problems, failed at least once a year

That's too bad! Not sure if you got a bad one or if I got a good. We have had ours since January 2021. The only issue I have had is the door handle tends to work itself loose over time and I have to re-tighten the hex screw that is recessed and holds it on.
I hope at least you have an extended warranty to cushion the blow a bit. We purchased a 5-year warranty for ours, although so far we haven't needed it.
Hope maybe it gets fixed for good! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. We obviously only have our own experience to go by, so other people letting us know about theirs is helpful!
