The oldest is always the most important tho because they are representative of when it was just the two of them. The youngest gets all the hands me downs and is supposed to know what was already taught to the oldest and middle because they think, I already taught this once why do it again.
I think the youngest children get misunderstood the most. My older sister is apparently SO much mature than me even though our age gap isn't that big. My parents always support my sister when shes stressed with school work and my parents think that i am over reacting and should stop. The parents think that the oldest is the most important becuase they are older and have more leadership. And don't even get me started when you suddenly turn 10 and your parents think your all of a sudden a teenager and you have to learn how to deal with things yourself
Do you need to do constant chores, provide for your younger siblings, be responsible, get used to being the blame put on you for your younger siblings actions, and being expected to give to your younger siblings more than you receive? @@vallerie9647 That is how it is for almost every middle child, and oldest children need to take the responsibility and be the ones creating the new generation, that is a huge deal. Maybe in your family you get treated as a middle child, but I'm talking generally. Generally, what you experience is what I and many other people experience as a middle child, so I don't see why you're acting like a special snowflake and saying "I get ignored" when most middle children get the same treatment. And as I said before, eldest children usually need to take the most responsibility over the rest of the siblings and sometimes the parents, so I don't see why worse complaining, you're not special if that's what you're trying to say, I've experienced everything you've said and I still need to treat my younger siblings and take responsibility over most of the house since my older siblings are already working, so yeah, everything you've said, I've experienced and more.
@emilytae6081 I know right? I'm so sick or the world seeing us as spoiled entitled disrespectful dependent weak dumb narcissistic pieces of shit. At least if I was one of the other orders of birth I wouldn't feel intense guilt and shame for experiencing anything positive and I would actually have self esteem like most people. Being viewed in this way effects you far worse than having to wash the dishes could ever.
I do think it depends on the personality and the parents. The Eldest Child is when parents tend to try to be "perfect" at parenting. They stress out about raising the kid, what they eat or do so the eldest tends to grow up more strict. By the time the middle comes around, the responsibility of being an older sibling gets placed on the Eldest child hence the middle child being the messiest or most eccentric. The Middle child gets more freedom while the Elder child gets more responsibility, chores and ex. just for being older. There is a misconception of the youngest child being the "baby" of the family which is true but it's not nearly as bad as portrayed. Most of the time, the babying isn't from the actual youngest child themselves but the parents who place the responsibly on the older kids and refuse to let the youngest kid do as much simply cause they're younger. Parents tend to let younger kids go longer without that responsibility cause it's their last kid and they get sentimental about it. So while the youngest gets babied, the middle is free to do what they want and the eldest often gets stuck with the unfun responsibilities of chores and babysitting of their siblings. And since the eldest is put in charge, the responsibility of anything bad the middle or younger child does get stuck on them.
Idk its true but you cant deny that all things aside you are the most loved,trusted....they give you wtever you want.....and like you said lil one is babied i agree but wt about middle one they didnt get babied or loved..they dont even get attention....they feel neglected...they feel like nobody cares so thats y they are independent, still with childish behavior and bad temper cause they have many things in heart and brain to share but they they have trust issues..so they cant tollerate more ....and touching is the worst thing mid one hate......i feel like mid ones are the softie but act like they are strong cold and emosionless......and we are not selfish ........we feel left out......we feel like we are just a choice in everything....so yeah
