Haha, I don't know why I always torture myself trying to follow written patterns for fancier stitches like this, videos are always so much easier to follow xD Fabulous video, thanks for posting!
After trying, unsuccessfully for a very long time to make loops, I can do them now thanks to your tutorial. it's easy to follow and copy. thank you for a simple, clear tutorial, much appreciated x
Thank you for your simple explanation of this stitch. It was very easy to follow your instructions. I am using it to make the spikes of a hedgehog. Thank you again
Thank you your directions are so much clearer than others I have watched. I’ve been crocheting since I was 10 (self taught from a book) but have never had to use this stitch before so didn’t know how to do it. I can now finish off the mane on the donkey I’ve made for my granddaughter.
Thank you, June! This tutorial was so helpful! I recently purchased a pattern for a Cabbage Patch Kid crocheted girls' hat. The bangs are comprised of the loop stitch. The designer listed instructions for the loop stitch, but I needed a good visual to get the hang of it. Your tutorial did the trick and made it so easy!! I'll be able to finish the hat now! Looking forward to watching more of your tutorials!
Thank you for this tutorial. I've been searching for a while how to make such a stitch, so I can cut the loops as well if I want to. Many other methods show a stitch where you can't cut the loop, because it would destroy your whole work. Please keep making these clear and useful tutorials!
Thank you. I have read how to and watch a video on this and yet instead of the loops all I got was a loose lacey looking piece. Thank you for illustrating it much more better. I am doing a Lady and needed the loopy look. Very well illustrated.
Thank you o much for sharing this method! I made a hat using the standard method, but the loops started pulling through to the wrong side because they weren't locked in. Your method resolves that problem.
ty so much! I took notes and sketched some pictures which helped me to learn this stitch. ty for your video and your clear instruction. Kudos to a job well done!
Thank you so much! I have watched a few videos on this stitch and having a hard time until I found yours. We hold our yarn the same way so it was easy for me to follow you. Thanks again!
Thank you for this great visual :) I had done loop stitch ages ago and forgot quite how, and missing a little step made loops that could pull through if the project was stretched. This fixes it!
Hi! I love your tutorial, I have a question… can stitches be skipped in between each loop so they won’t be too full? Thanks in advance for your answer ❤
Yes! You can work any number of sc stitches in between each loop stitch. If you do this, try to stagger the loop stitches on the next row so they line up with the gaps in the previous row. 🙂
Thank you, I have been looking for a video to learn this. My mom started making slippers like this and dusters and rugs back in the 60's, we all had slippers. But she past in 2016 without teaching me, and now I have slippers started and a rug 1/3 of the way done nd don't know how to finish.
Something so simple and many make it look so hard to achieve! Thank you for the video upload! This is going to help me expand on my crocheting method!!! 💞💞
To do this in Arigarumi you would need to stuff your work inside out and not as you normally would with the correct side out. Am I right with this or am I seeing it wrong? Great Turtorial. I am left handed also and constantly have to convert every thing from right left.
Hi June, great video! I saw a picture of a sheep done this way but can't figure out how to do amigurumi in the round since the loops would be on the inside, right? Seems like I would need to flip it inside out. Do you have a video showing how to do these loops in a magic ring/circular? Any help appreciated, cheers!
Fantastic, thanks. However, I needed to make at least an inch of single crochet, just so I had something to hang on to when I first started. It was very difficult to make loops on the first or second row of single crochets.
If you're working in rows (as I showed in my sample) you can work a loop stitch into *every* stitch instead of just the right-side stitches, and then you'll have loops on both sides of the fabric 🙂
Thank you for the video. I'm making a KLEENEX box cover. My own pattern (I've never done this before). When the cover is complete, can I cut the loops so that it'll look more like grass?
thank you for the video. i have a questin though...im making an amigurumi giraffe for my 1 year old daughter and was thinking of using a loop stitch to make the mane. now if she pulls on these loops will it affect the project..or come loose?? thank you.
Thank goodness I decided to look for a video, I was seriously planning on tying on each loop individually for my cabbage patch hat. #newbiecrocheterproblems
realise this is old not (nearly 8 years ago) but on the 'return' row for flat crochet, what do is slip stitch back to the beginning - you still get a gap row in your work but much narrower.
It's just a stitch - you can use it however you want, depending on the shape you're trying to make. If you aren't following a pattern, you can start with a foundation chain to work in rows, or a magic ring (or chain loop) if you want to work in rounds - it's up to you!
Hi! I have a question about this stitch. I'm making a hedgehog amigurimi and the inscrutctions say that I have to cut the loops, my question is: if I cut the loops, will they get undone?
Thank you June. This is by far the best , quickest and least complicated version of the crochet loop stitch on YT

i know right?!
Me too

Thanks June, You directions are very clear and I now can do the Loop Stitch. I am so excited!

Excellent tutorial! Turning the hook on the back loop was just the trick I needed!
Wow! Thanks so much. You explain this so simply and it has helped me with a pattern that I am crocheting.
This was perfect, the instructions I got from a book were confusing. Also, you have a lovely voice.
Thank you o much for sharing this method! I made a hat using the standard method, but the loops started pulling through to the wrong side because they weren't locked in. Your method resolves that problem.
Thank you so much for this video!!! I've just made my first crochet doll and couldn't get the loops to work. Your video makes it so easy!
ty so much! I took notes and sketched some pictures which helped me to learn this stitch. ty for your video and your clear instruction. Kudos to a job well done!
Your tutorials are so easy to follow and so accurate....I would love to share them on my patterns if that is ok.

Thank you for this great visual :) I had done loop stitch ages ago and forgot quite how, and missing a little step made loops that could pull through if the project was stretched. This fixes it!

Katie Stevens please demo cluster stitch
Want to make a couple of projects with this stitch. Thanks for the directions.

Thank you so much. I was really not getting it until your tutorial.
very helpful video, thank you. Can you decrease using this stitch? If so, how? Thanks.
Fantastic, thanks. However, I needed to make at least an inch of single crochet, just so I had something to hang on to when I first started. It was very difficult to make loops on the first or second row of single crochets.
Clear and concise... THANK YOU! 🙌
Woohoo! I can even do the loop with a double crochet. Thank you!
I would love to know how to get a loop on the other side as well.

Will it unravel over time if I cut the loops?
There really needs to be a video like this for left handers.
thank you for the video. i have a questin though...im making an amigurumi giraffe for my 1 year old daughter and was thinking of using a loop stitch to make the mane. now if she pulls on these loops will it affect the project..or come loose?? thank you.

Knit one pearl 2. :)
So useful!

May i ask how do you start it off? do you start by doing a foundation chain?
thankyou

Thanks! Very good tutorial!
Best tutorial ever
What is an alternate loop stitch? It says it in my book but I can’t find any videos on it so I have no clue what it is.
Hi! I have a question about this stitch. I'm making a hedgehog amigurimi and the inscrutctions say that I have to cut the loops, my question is: if I cut the loops, will they get undone?
