    I normally only click the thumb up button/icon, never leave a comment when finding something is positively good. But this time is exception as your mobile drill press is practically portable, taken a small space for tucking away, most importantly cost effective and easy to make. Simplicity is always the best. THANK YOU.

    It is obvious that dimensions are not strict. You can use anything you want. The concept is the most important and brilliant idea. Whoever need dimension for this project he is not into crafting at all.:)

    Thanks for a great " why didn't I think of this " video. Great for all those jobs where the material to be drilled is permanently fixed or too large to fit into the conventional drill press. This will solve my problem of installing my homemade woodworking vice into one of my existing fixed workbenches.

    Thanks for a great upload. I have made a couple of these now but after the first one I moved the plate that mounts the chuck from the bottom to the centre of the sliding carriage to give my fingers more room around the cordless drill chuck and I added some gussets to support the tower to the base. They are really light weight and easy to carry around so thanks again.

  • @jellyg.8961
    @jellyg.8961 6 років тому +1

    Thanks for the video and your creativity. One thing I would change to make it more simple and to save the time and money of getting an additional chuck or chuck extension is to change the L-shape wood bracket where the be bearings and the chuck are.
    There are metal brackets that are super strong, made of steel and available in many lengths, also they are mostly thin, probably 2-3 cm (less than 1/8"). If you use one wide enough to accomodate the bearings plus that a hole can be made to pass the drill chuck completely then you don't need the extra chuck used here. The hole has to be precise so only the chuck passes but not the base of the drill. Also a stop needs to be put so you don't accidentally keep drilling beyond the hole of the base.

    • @JUANQUISPE
      @JUANQUISPE 6 років тому +1

      It's true, isn't necessary an extra chuck (even if it can be obtained from a disused drill),but as it is, just add a piece of wood in front of the slider, to work like stop.
