I’m a HUGE OPI fan but I have to say this might be my least favorite holiday collection they have ever done. Oh, well. 2020 has been hard on everyone. Lovely swatches, though, Phoebe, as always!
I love Gingerbread, Snowfalling, and To All a Good Night!😍🙌🏻 Honestly I will never understand the hate behind OPI collections, people get upset when boring colors/textures are repeated and then when OPI branches out into unique colors/textures, people still seem to be unhappy with it. I think the problem is that OPI tries new things, but the end product is almost always an absolute flop, the last two in the video for example. Hopefully we can see more improvement in the future. 😊
I've always loved OPI and I love this collection! I especially love let's take an elfie, tinsel tinsel little star, all a'twitter in glitter, and to all a good night. 💅😍
The light salmon reminds me of satin ballet shoes in a good way, but I'm not totally sold on the frost finish. I love all the polishes with the silver flecks.
There’s a few polishes I thought we’re nice but, not nice enough to make me immediately order them. I was really excited for this collection but I guess it’s in keeping with the general theme for 2020. Great swatches as always. Thank you.
Thank you for this review, it was super helpful (I think I will skip the last 2 as you recommended). Also, you sound so happy and joyful in this video - I love it :) even though I miss seeing your lovely smile in your recent uploads
The winey one and the purple one are nice, though not particularly wintery. The rest are not my thing. The fall collection was much better! Many thanks for the lovely swatches and the even lovelier comments!
I really like this collection. It is soft, easy to wear, and like pearl and shimmer. Naughty or Ice? and Tinsel, Tinsel are my two faves. Yes, they knocked it out of the park with Fall Milan Muse collection, but I think this is a nice holiday collection.
Honestly, I do not like this collection. The thought is there, but the last few polishes look like bad indie polish knock offs. And it hurts that these follow up a gorgeous Fall collection. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the swatches!
Hi Phoebe! Sorry if I missed it, but always love to hear your personal recommendations in your collection swatch videos. Thank you for the swatches preview😊
A tip for puttin on the glitz!! I was really excited about this polish, and then I ran into the trouble other people and reviews that others have mentioned. Then I tried something unconventional! Here is my tip trick! Apply a coat of dark nail polish. Then float on 2 to 3 coats of puttin on the glitz... then! Take a clean up brush, dip it in acetone and gently swipe it over some of the confetti glitters, so that they show better! Then add a top coat or two!!. Viola!
This is the first OPI collection that I haven't really likes in a long time. I do really love the color let's take an elfie though. I may pick that one up
This is what makes me mad about OPI. They're clearly watching social media trends & copying what indie makers have been doing for years now but they do it CHEAPLY (ineffectively) & they profit so much MORE because mass produced & they have the corporate reach that indie brands don't have. My advice is if you want good flakies or shimmers buy indies. You'll be a lot more satisfied with your purchase.
Cecile Estelle and indies are usually cruelty-free and vegan and have less bad ingredients, too. I stopped buying opi for not being cruelty-free. I agree indies have it all!
Thanks for the advice! I am a bit of a newbie and the last shade did appeal to me, but it seems a hassle to apply. Luckily there are good indie brands available where I live, will check some flakey polishes out!
True, but unfortunately indies are not widely available. For example, I would have to pay $40 shipping for them and a lot of them actually don't ship to my country (I live in Europe). So my only option is purchasing from mainstream brands and hoping they improve their game in these more special polishes...
I am sorely disappointed in this collection. I only like the dark purple shimmer and I already have The raven cried give me moore. Thank you for the swatch comparisons on the nail! Don’t know who asked, but it’s more helpful ☺️
Very relaxing to see I do not need anything from this collection. I do like To all a good night, but I have No more mister Night Sky, which is similar. 🖤
I'm not sure if I'm going to get any from this collection. The colours look nice but not really new to the market imo, especially seeing your dupes. Also OPI is hella expensive here in the Netherlands so I think I'll skip ^^"
Merry in Cranberry, Let’s Take an Elfie and To All a Good Night are my faves. I wasn’t really feeling their Fall this year, the shades just didn’t appeal with the exception of the Galleria Vittorio Violet. Seasonally, my favorite collections are Washington DC for Fall, Hawaii and New Orleans for Spring/Summer, Nutcracker for Holiday + Whatever the Collection that Coalmates and Feel the Chemis-tree came from. Winter I do various shades.
Thanks for the review and comparison!! This collection isn’t doing much for me, but based off promo pictures I was expecting that to be the case. The frosty shimmers have always been a no for me, especially in pinks, light reds, and metallic colors. And those last two...... that’s just wayyyy too much effort to put into a manicure. But again, thank you so much for the review!! You always make my decisions easier, especially now that I’m not going in to stores to take a peek of what the polishes look like in person!
Thank you for swatching these opi polishes. We are on fixed income and i budget for nail oolish stuff. I really try not to spend over 10 dollars a bottle of polish. Its hard but i have found indie and opi on sale.
Oh dear, why does OPI keep including so many frosty polishes in their collections? After a major flow of their Hidden Prism collection (our official distributor didn’t even have it available lol) and really uninspiring Neo Pearl they could’ve learned their lesson. But no :( I wanted to buy Heart and Cole from this one but darn, I can only imagine trying to get rid of all this glitter. I’d rather go for indies like Cadillacquer, Picture Polish or ILNP for my holiday mani. At least we got Mexico and Milan this year. They were amazing
Wow, Putting on the Glitz Doesn't Look Like something you would see from a Mainstream. Like you said, they def don't look great, but I'm impressed with their attempt at branching out! :)
I am not really a pink nail polish person but i do like the pink and red shades in this--they have a retro feel to them like Cutex and Tangee I grew up with my mother using! But I hate the last two--especially the last one: Puttin On The Glitz--it looked like broken glass in motor oil.....
I'll keep an eye on 'All A’Twitter in Glitter' in case it comes out here. I think I'd like to use it with pastel shades in the Spring. O.P.I. is quite expensive here, the typical retail price is €16.90 a bottle, so I usually wait until they go on half-off sale, so it might take until next Summer. I'm fine with that as it is cute but not necessary.
@@Viki-106 can you please explain why they're not good? Judging by Phoebe's video I feel like they can still be worked around with some patience and good top coat to look great
What do you think of the infinite shine line as a whole? I need to overhaul my collection and I’ve noticed that the infinite shine dry way faster and that’s a big deal for me. Do you notice that big of a difference between the two lines and which do you prefer?
Hi Phoebe I am a new subscriber to your channel. I really enjoy how you do swatches. I have to say I am very underwhelmed by this collection, although how you do the swatches is lovely, it's definitely the colors themselves that are at fault here. I like let's take an elfie I honestly think that's the only stand out one and the last two are horrible.... Cirque, ilnp, holo taco all do waaaaaay better versions of those. Hopefully opi has a better spring collection next year. Thank you again!
I really like the look of Bling It On! (the purpley-blue-grey cellophane look), but I’m guessing there’s an indie brand out there that’s done this better. If you know of a similar shade, can you please let me know?
I was hoping the last two would be a good alternative to Cirque’s Candy Coat collection which I can’t get in my country, but they’re pretty disappointing and I won’t be buying them. I will get Let’s take an Elfie and All a-twitter with Glitter. I loved the fall collection but this one is odd... and I don’t like pearl shimmer.
I have to say, I like some of the polishes in this collection, they are just my ‘thing’ but doubt I’ll get the whole collection. The last two especially reminded me of Pineapples Have Peelings Too. No!!! 🤪
I thought I might want to get this collection just upon seeing the title of the video, but after seeing the swatches there were maybe two that I kind of, sort of, liked. What I'm trying to say is, I'm giving this collection a huge pass
I always wait for your review before purchasing. I used to be a die hard OPI collector, but this past year in particular was horrible! So much frost and shimmer polishes. This collection sadly is full of pearly shades yet again. Thank you for including the comparisons! It helps me see where the new color lands compared to others I might think are similar. I loved your comment that the polish flakes should be used in some other art project! 🤣🤣🤣
Aw man, I’m sad that the flakie polishes suck. I have my hoard of indie polishes so it’s whatever for me but for people starting out, or who aren’t in the indie scene, it’s sad that this is what they get from OPI. Especially considering that OPI isn’t cheap, and they have the money to figure out how to do it right. That said, beautiful swatches as always Phoebe, thanks for the review!
Mariah Carey’s collection was prolly the best. Why do they not bring back my favorite ornament or all sparkly and gold. THOSE are the shades they need to do remakes of not the weird shimmers with chunky glitters.
This whole collection is a hard pass for me. Very underwhelming selection. I prefer creams but I do like an occasional shimmer/sparkle. Loved the fall collection and grabbed a few of those.
I really should have waited till these came out in the store cuz I went to polish pick & saw this collection available & immediately ordered it cuz the picture for this collection made them look good but now seeing the swatches....there’s only like 6 polishes i would get from this collection 😓 their fall collection was way better than this. Thank you for the swatches!!! Imma wear each one anyway to get my moneys worth lol.
Phoebe Moon I just got the collection in the mail & never mind lol. I actually like them. Except for the red. I don’t wear red lol. But I love them! I don’t mind trying the frosty polishes lol.
OPI could've at least do a throwback collection of the Designer Series's holographic polishes, thermal polishes, or magnetic polishes that do the cat's eye effect. But nooooo! Their holiday collection consists of shitty repeat colors. LAME!
No one seems to like this collection, but there's six in this collection that I love! Especially the first polish!

I enjoyed the wine, the two light shades with the micro flakies and the dark/nearly black teal with the micro flakies

I didn't before cuz I didn't want to narrow down to just three shades to compare and the nail wheel let me fit more in :)
So lovely
They are mostly a bit meh but thank you for swatching them and I found it really satisfying to watch you put the toppers on!

Brand new to home nails so I may need that holiday red because it looked so smooth 😃

Aww thank you so much Shannon!
I liked them all apart from the last 2 and I've just realised 7 of the colours have been bought for my xmas from my dogs😄
I would use the last 2 polishes with a sponge applied method
Could you swatch the Essie Winter 2020 collection next please?
Was going to do the Blue Moon and then Winter
I guess
