So very grateful Lakota recovered so well from that puncture wound. You did a great job in nursing him back to soundness... Of course, Lakota, Boots and sweet Oliver are gorgeous; I love the updates on them... Thank you for this very educational video... 🦋💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🦋
Yesterday, I learned the horses Englands Household Calvery uses with their band as drum horses are 22 hands high. I believe they are either Clydesdales or Clydesdale Draft mix. Beautiful horses.
You made me yawn too! Enjoyed this. Very glad you did the responsible thing and gelded the boys. They both look pretty darn cute to me and will make fabulous geldings.
I love boots mane it looks like it was dipped! Oliver is looking so awesome! Lakota is such a cutie pie I cannot wait to see his summer coat and colors..
Wow... This was a great video. I have always wondered how this was done. I am thrilled the vet puts them completely to sleep and worries about their pain and comfort.
What a great back story on Lakota ! PTL! Glad he and Boots came thru the process fine. Oliver is such a wonderful uncle figure to the foals and he will be a great daddy! What a heart warmer! I have read that they grow till they are 5 years old, so while he had that gut wrenching set back at a year and a half, I am confident he will more than make up for the lost growth time. Not that huge-ness is the focus, his health and wellbeing is. Just commenting that he has two more years of growth to come. Interesting video. There is always more to learn about the world of horse's.👍👍💕💕
I'm glad Lakota is doing well. I know you have your reasons for castrating them, but it makes me sad. Poor little guys 😢 Oliver looks better every time I see him he's so beautiful.
40 years ago, I got to watch the procedure done on my brother's first two horses Talon and Thor. It was very interesting. He had Arabian horses back then.
I've always had mares or geldings what age should you consider the right time to do the gelding? And Oliver is looking great! I really don't know what he's going to think about returning to the vet after what hes buds went threw 😅 lol
All three of the boys are very handsome but I have to say I'm still partial to your big boy I just want to hug on him in the worst way it's been the worst week ever here on my farm
To me it's always a little sad when studs have to be cut. I understand why, and it certainly makes them better saddle horse candidates, i would just prefer to not have to be involved with it.
Great video guys. I don't understand why you cut those horses especially the small younger one. Doesn't that make them mean and fat and lazy? lol. No disrespect intended here. Just asking questions. Many thumbs up to your videos and horses.
It's obvious that you're very good with them but why breed them if they're not show quality. It's for this very reason these horses end up in the slaughter pipeline.
Shouldn’t Lakota be a little older before surgery? The breeder of my lab dog said not to neuter till at least 18 months. My holistic vet said not till 2. They both suggested that unless there is a personality problem it is better not to do it at all. The hormones are important for their development and they are discovering less arthritis. Just sharing. My boy is now 3 and still intact. He is always with me and he will never breed.
Why are you comparing a dog to a horse? They are entirely different animals and have entirely different needs. You’d be better off comparing apples to oranges.
@@goomba8170 I think animals all basically have the same needs. I asked the question in the best interest of the colt. I wasn’t looking for an argument. I appreciate this whole family and wanted to know what they had to say about it.
Oliver was awesome in calming Lakota and Boots. Oliver and Jr yawning was so cute. Emeri, you did a great job in capturing the cute moments on video. Shout out to the wonderful vet!
Oliver is such a smart boy, he is beautifully handsome. A remarkable horse ❤. Love me some Oliver🥰. JR is also a smart good man. Without JR Oliver would not be who he is.
Glad that Dr. Burger does not mind being filmed. He has many interesting things to say. Oliver's heighth may make him perfect for trail riding and pulling the size of wagon he will be pulling. Glad Lakota's recovery was complete.
I enjoy your channel. I live up in Weston, Missouri. And it’s a pleasure to see how you take care of your horses. And especially how you saved that beautiful Oliver.!! Beautiful and amazing, and I love to watch him and all the animals around the farm ❤❤❤
I smiled when Dr Burger said that Oliver's height wasn't as much as the Budwiser Clydesdales, because Oliver is still growing. Oliver had a big delay in growth and development before JR and family rescued him. He may be growing slow and steady now! Size isn't evetyrhing, anyway 😅 xx
I think both Boots and Lakota are REALLY handsome horses. I hope they both have good long lives as geldings---being riding horses or whatever. I bet Lakota had a lot more memories of stress associated with all his vet visits last Autumn. You guys are miracle workers! I totally believe in the POWER of Prayer along with the medical procedures. We all need God's help to heal.
What a beautiful horse Oliver has turned into over the last year, due to the absolute kindness of a Family, who saw LOVE, from the first time they laid eyes on him. Watching Oliver’s transformation, over the last year, has been amazing.
Two sweet boys going back to pasture ...and glad that procedure's over with. Oh my gosh! I just yawned too! 😊 St Paddy's Day parade! Have you played any loud music for Oliver? My husband plays the highland bagpipes and they are loud!
Agreed. I commented a couple of weeks ago that they really need to find out how he'll react to drums, like marching band drums. A lot of horse people who are putting their horse in a parade for the first time totally overlook how much drums freak a lot of horses out, until their horse is all over the place.
Why aren’t you guys working with those yearlings ??? They need interaction with people ! I will ! I volunteer!!! Lol. But seriously, they do need some work guys. !
I want to go for the ride!!! Oliver always gets his way! You two have such a good marriage, the love of both of you spills over into the horses, and it shows😊
Sure was interesting to now know the procedure of gelding them. Man, they did good!! Oliver was making me sleepy when he went on that yawning spell 😴😒😂😂 Thanks Dr Berger for your awesome vet work. We all feel like they're our babies too!!!😅😅
Your prayers worked!!! Lakota is a miracle! All 3 boys are so beautiful🥰❣️
Oliver’s tail is looking good.
It sure is! 😺
To hear, "punctured joint" makes my joints hurt. That just sounds so painful.
So the yawn at the end from the human and horse boys was priceless. LOL
So very grateful Lakota recovered so well from that puncture wound. You did a great job in nursing him back to soundness... Of course, Lakota, Boots and sweet Oliver are gorgeous; I love the updates on them... Thank you for this very educational video...
🦋💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🦋
Boots is gorgeous and so is Lakota and of course handsome Oliver
Awww ~~ Will Lakota and Boots continue to grow? Oliver is a wonderful support.💖
Oh yes. They aren’t near done growing.
The yawns were adorable ❤
Having an educational vet is the best!!!
Oliver is such a good boy with the younger ones!
Yesterday, I learned the horses Englands Household Calvery uses with their band as drum horses are 22 hands high. I believe they are either Clydesdales or Clydesdale Draft mix. Beautiful horses.
Shires usually...they look like Clydes but are even taller. On the Rare Breed Registry now.
Pamplant, you surely meant to write "Cavalry" and not calvery. Yes, you want a stout horse to carry a big drum.
Ouch, those poor babies, that's a dirty trick. Lol
You can sure tell they are attached to one another. Bless their hearts.
So so educational and enjoyable!! 👍 🐴 ❤

Hello 👋 from Arkansas
The boys did a wonderful job!❤❤❤😊😊😊
Prayers Do work!! Plus your care bc you do what the vet says y’all are just Great!!
I like that horse
Have y'all ever seen the Budweiser clydesdales in St Louis? Oliver's coat was so shiny out in the sun.
They are so beautiful.

Beautiful Mane on Boots
Love all the horses ❤❤ especially Olivier ❤️ 😍

Hi Jr you have some nice horses and you too
40 years ago, I got to watch the procedure done on my brother's first two horses Talon and Thor. It was very interesting. He had Arabian horses back then.
Boots sure is a beauty
I love Oliver’s faces! ❤❤❤
I keep watching and waiting for the birth videos. Did I miss them, u didn't have any.
Oliver is such a character❤
He's missing a boot and two balls.
❤❤❤❤
I've always had mares or geldings what age should you consider the right time to do the gelding? And Oliver is looking great! I really don't know what he's going to think about returning to the vet after what hes buds went threw 😅 lol

boots has such a pretty mane!
I've got to ask...why put the horses through this surgery?
👍🩵✌️
To me it's always a little sad when studs have to be cut. I understand why, and it certainly makes them better saddle horse candidates, i would just prefer to not have to be involved with it.

I like raising great trail horses as well. Paints are not show quality but the colour is desirable for an every day ride
Not everyone who buys or breeds a horse does so with the intention of showing them smh

Emery: "Jr you passed him!"
Jr: "They all look the same." 😅😅
I rewound it and made my husband watch that part 😂
😂😂😂😂
Yeah, he is a goof ball😂
What a great recovery for Lakota! Miracles of healing abound for many of your horses at the Homestead. ❤
It ‘s sweet that Oliver’s company helps Lakota feel more at ease.
Oliver is so special.
Oliver was awesome in calming Lakota and Boots. Oliver and Jr yawning was so cute. Emeri, you did a great job in capturing the cute moments on video. Shout out to the wonderful vet!
Oliver seems to be a great big brother!
It's so cute how Lakota is like no I need my Oliver
Oliver is such a smart boy, he is beautifully handsome. A remarkable horse ❤. Love me some Oliver🥰. JR is also a smart good man. Without JR Oliver would not be who he is.
Everyone needs a emotional support Clydesdale 😂😅
Could you imagine taking Oliver on a plane because he's an Emotional Support horse 🤣
Now I'm just imagining a plane, but all the passengers are horses!
@@pamspray5254 Hahaha, with their legs crossed!
too funny!
I really like this vet, really good, you are so Blessed to have him🐴🐎🐴
Your horses trust you implicitly! That's why they are so easy to handle. Well done family! ❤
Lakota has Boots' missing boot!😅
😂😂😂 I hadn’t thought of that!!
😅👍👋
Glad that Dr. Burger does not mind being filmed. He has many interesting things to say. Oliver's heighth may make him perfect for trail riding and pulling the size of wagon he will be pulling. Glad Lakota's recovery was complete.
4:17 OMG, Oliver almost doesn’t fit in the trailer!! 🤯🤯🤯
Yep😂Oliver made me yawn. So glad Lakota and Boots are doing well.

Beautiful and amazing, and I love to watch him and all the animals around the farm ❤❤❤
Boots and Lakota are going to the vet to get "tootered". Now they will both be much "smarter", lol.😊
Gary Larson’s dog skit 😆
Your horses love you’ll so much.

Maybe you should take Oliver through the drive in like you did with April.
Good idea😊
Enjoy watching Jr's special bond with all his horses. You know that if you buy one of his horses you will have a gentle, well cared for horse.
Dr Berger looks like Jr’s brother❣️
Oliver makes JR look shorter!
Good to see all went well. You may want to check out Steve Young Horsemanship for tips on training and loading your horses. Best to you all.
Thank u for this video..
Lol... Always the emergency feed bucket and rope
Yall take such good care of these horses!! They are all beautiful. They are so prayed over they have no choice but to do well!!
The paint I use to have I name him apychie after a Indian tribe and my husband thought I said patties.
Why aren’t you guys working with those yearlings ??? They need interaction with people ! I will ! I volunteer!!! Lol. But seriously, they do need some work guys. !
The yawning made me yawn. Lol. Thanks for sharing. ❤❤❤❤❤
I'm happy that Lakota is ok!!! Love all of your horses.. Oliver will always be my fav though, lol ❤❤❤❤❤
Oliver is beautiful!!! How do you tell a horse is “ freaking out”?? They look so calm. But I do not own horses and am very interested.
It Was Beautiful Getting To Spend Time With Yaw'll, & Some Of The Horses In This Video... "What A Blessing"...
❤❤❤...
When my mare had a colt I gelded him at a year old and stood there and watched my vet geld him. It was pretty cool.
Adorable 🥰 ❤. That great things looking good. 👍
Oliver needs a nap😊
Lakota is a tough little dude!
Poor Lakota! Hope Boots and Lakota are ok. Watching from Virginia.
I really like Boots. A pretty little guy.
Gonna be some beautiful slick horses when shedding starts... Especially Oliver with his first year of healthy muscle.
Awesome video, guys. Dr is a absolute gem!
Would this vet (if asked) think that any Adequan would be helpful to Lakota, per his injured fetlock joint?
Bless Boots and Lakota, such brave boys having there bits chopped. Oliver and Jr Yawning was funny 🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂, your horses are so awesome. Thank you xxxxx
Dr. Burgher has a wonderful calming voice.
I love Boot’s color!
Sure glad Lakota is ok. I'm glad all of them are OK.❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Homestead Peeps! Glad Lakota is doing well. Best Regards to the whole family and all the wonderful critters. JV
I want to go for the ride!!! Oliver always gets his way! You two have such a good marriage, the love of both of you spills over into the horses, and it shows😊
