Just to clarify. Groovy is underweight for those wondering. He was gelded right before we got him and unfortunately got an infection. It took a bit getting him through it. But because of that he dropped a ton of weight, we are working hard to get that weight on and hope to see improvement in his condition soon. We love all three of these boys but let us know your favorite!
Just commented before seeing this saying that I had to go back and watch Missinaboots birth video and he is officially my favorite ! Just know that he’s going to show all of us how magnificent he truly is ! ❤
Wonderful video, can't wait for more on the gang!! Boots is my favourite!! I'm proud of myself for just choosing one. Love these boys, can't wait to see more. Fascinating to see what you're looking for to show too JR. I had never heard of a Missouri Foxtrotter before your channel. A quick question, at what age are horses in their teens? Also, does it differ between breeds?
All 3 are so lovely and fun to watch. For a long time I've been looking forward to seeing more videos with Champ. So he is my favorite right now. I've mostly grown up around Quarter horses. It has been very educational learning about the Missouri Fox Trotters. They are very fascinating. Thanks for your stellar horsemanship.
Agreed - these are my absolute favorites, entertaining but educational as well. JR shows and explains the difference and I love the distinction that the MFT's are bred to improve their gaits, not on looks. That's what should matter more than just looks.
What a great comparison. I love learning about to herds. These geldings have a beautiful life, and I know you’ll set them up with the perfect homes. I love your passion, JR, for the breed! I love all horses. I grew up in the East with quarter horses and now live in the southwest. Mustangs, warm bloods are a new experience. All horses no matter the breed or age have a place in this world.
I spotted it right away when Champ started moving. You did also demonstrate the head bob with Classy.Bob did a good jpb with Boots. Bobs genes are strong.
Love the boys! Champ is stunning and Boots is really good looking. It will be fun to watch all three come along to their potential. Fun video. When do we find out if Beauty is in foal?
Love this evaluation episode❣️ If Champ ends up getting gelded, there will be a long line of folks wanting him. Imo: personality/ friendliness is #1 and smooth riding is #2 as my thing is trail riding. Love the "behind the scenes" part, lol! 😂 Btw, the thumbnail you have is awesome!
I had never heard of a gaited horse until about a dozen years ago. I was on the train to Chicago and we passed a Paso Fino ranch way up here in Michigan. I had to know what they were, so I looked them up. Someday I'd like to see an exhibition of the various gaited horses to understand the differences better.
If you haven’t watched the recent Colorado videos with Classy, where they were coaching Classy’s new owner, they gave some pretty good info and footage of how a gaited horse moves vs the regular walk/trot/canter gaits
Right? They look like ponies next to JR. Or maybe it's the canera angle. And I'm thinking to myself "Please ride the Clydesdales only". But that's just me. Sure the MFT's can handle it.
Had to go back and watch Missinaboots birth video and I am officially saying that he’s my favorite !! Can’t wait to see him prove how magnificent he truly is ! ❤
I do like the black ..really like his look and movement. As well as your horse. They seem to be more relaxed on the walk. I know with a walking horse consistantly working and building muscle is important. Actually I like all 3 but I do like to show.
I don’t understand why you would geld him if he didn’t perform in the show ring, because you have said that he has an amazing temperament and behaves like a Gelding anyway so why geld him? you may as well leave him a stallion and maintain the possibility of him being able to breed and continue his bloodline, which is in your own words Wonderful and worth preserving. ❤❤❤🙌🏻
I'm glad your paying attention to smarts and disposition. Not just conformation and what is going to win in the show ring. I love❤ Golden Retrievers. There are 3 kinds here in the US, English Cream( the almost white ones) American ( the ones with all the hair and are usually in commercials) and red/ field Golden. They are all registerable with the AKC but the has different conformation and according to the AKC are too red for the breed slandered. That's just fine with me. One thing I have discovered is that breeders are so interested in winning in the show ring, they are breeding the brains right out of the American and Englih cream. So I am concentrating my program on the Reds for obedience and hunting champions yes, but also the beautiful mahogany colors and conformation. I never knew anything about the foxtrotter breed. I am learning so much from your channel. I have never ridden a foxtrotter but I have ridden Tennasee walkers, Paso Finos and Peruvian Pasos. I'm a dressage rider primarily and have always loved Thouroughbredss. But I'm an opportunists too. It's hard for me to get used to how small your foxtrotters are and how narrow their chests are. Is this part of the standard?
It will be exciting to watch them learn and grow! I was wondering if you have ever come across a horse in all your experiences that made you think, bless its heart. Not a ounce of meaness, always wanted to please, it just had problems retaining what you taught it? Years ago I did, this horse hardly ever spooked, it more or less stood there as if it was contemplating the meaning of life very deeply 😅. You could touch it all over, never phasing it. Once it learned to pick its feet up for cleaning and shoeing no problem. Work it in a round pen for an hour, give it a break and go back in, it would stand there like a teenager dumbfounded after you repeatedly told them to take the trash out. Gentle horse, we use to say she was a beauty just nothing between the ears.
Hard to see the gait differences as a layman but could still make out a bit of what you are teaching. Thank you for the tutorial! Hard not to fall in love with Missin' a boot. Groovy is looking way healthier ( good job), and glad there is still chestnut Champ when your little sorrel herd has gotten so colorful.
Lordy, Champ is built like a brick outhouse and his legs are perfect! I really have always loved Boots; he's my favorite of the colts. Like you, I am a mare person - never owned a gelding. I now ride a friend's mare - one she never got along with. The mare and I do really well together (she can be a handful). Now my friend has a Kentucky Mountain gelding who is the sweetest and she loves him.
Thank-you, for showing us the qualities differences in good movement. Since I show dogs, this is easier for me, to understand. You may need to do a few more, outside in daylight and perhaps in a straight line, although, you show in a ring. But to get a nice length of movement (for demo) you may need a long straight runway. 😊
I admit that I am learning about Foxtrotters. Guys come on. Champ is quite nice and a good solid boy with what appears to be good gait. I would not be comparing him to a Quarter Horse. He may favor an old foundation bred QH or even an old style Morgan in build but he is not at all what a modern show QH would be. I personally really like Boots. ❤
Missing a boot is the perfect size for a quarter horse. I don't like when they started breeding Quarter Horses for height, they're supposed to be 14 to 14.4 Max for optimal cutting horse size
I have to agree with JR, of the three I think I prefer Champ. He has good solid bone, board-straight legs, compact barrel, a nice level hip and I like his neck-set the best of the three. I think Boots and Groovy are attractive boys though, I'm eager to see how they mature this year. Maybe my preference for Champ stems from his resemblance to a horse I had in my teen years, LOL, he was a darned good horse even if he did buck me off a couple of times, LOL. Mom just gave me a picture she took of me on him, the year we rounded up Grandma's cows for her since she had to have an amputation that year and couldn't work her own cows.
Just to clarify. Groovy is underweight for those wondering. He was gelded right before we got him and unfortunately got an infection. It took a bit getting him through it. My favorite is Boots.
My favorite is Champ! 🏆 I have admired him ever since I saw him running with Oliver - when they first became pasture mates. 🥰🐎💝🐎
Just commented before seeing this saying that I had to go back and watch Missinaboots birth video and he is officially my favorite ! Just know that he’s going to show all of us how magnificent he truly is ! ❤
All 3 of them are so affectionate. And, they are all eager to learn.
❤🎉
Wonderful video, can't wait for more on the gang!! Boots is my favourite!! I'm proud of myself for just choosing one. Love these boys, can't wait to see more. I LOVE this type of training video! I can’t wait to see these three guys progress. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love these beautiful boys and keep the name “The Gang”!!!
Blonde, Brunette, and Redhead! lol!! The boys need their strong male leader, and JR is the man for the job. Love them all---beautiful young horses.
Or a strong female leader
They are beautiful horses. JR does an excellent job with all of the horses. I really enjoy watching your channel. Keep up the good work.❣
What a beautiful “gang” of Missouri Fox Trotters. Excited to see them mature and be trained.
Love the dapple on Groovy. Y'all are doing great work.
What a snazzy trio of fox trotter potentiality!! Love the outtakes at the end!😁😂😃
That was so interesting. I know nothing about horses but Champ did stand out.
Champ has the most beautiful eyes. Absolutely stunning.
I love the evaluations of each horse..Boots is such a cutie and all three are so well behaved.
I believe that the horse show judges are looking for the very things that JR is pointing out about his gang's potentials.
Guess I better find a book that explains all this. Somewhere. Very interested in the showing stuff, since I have shown dogs for years.
All 3 horses act calm.
Good luck and Merry Christmas to you all 🎄
You call it Head Pump. I really, really, really love how you have helped create those lovely temperaments.
They are nice looking boys.
I would take one in each color!! Love them all. 😂
I love these kind of videos, thanks you. I always wait for the next one.
Agreed - these are my absolute favorites, entertaining but educational as well. JR shows and explains the difference and I love the distinction that the MFT's are bred to improve their gaits, not on looks. That's what should matter more than just looks.
@ i dont know much about horses but what i ear from JR is good sense.
The photo shoot attempt made me giggle 🤭
I was yelling for the grain bucket, too! 😂😂😂😂

Only 2 are geldings right now and potentially looking for homes = Boots and Groovy.
I spotted it right away when Champ started moving. You did also demonstrate the head bob with Classy.Bob did a good jpb with Boots. Bobs genes are strong.
Aha!!! See JR you just said you prefer mares lol. Shows I’m listening while following your channel. Ps Champ is gorgeous & Oliver bestie.
I cannot wait to see more of Boots in training, he seems to have some hidden / undeveloped talents.
Hearing JR „behind the scenes“ trying to get the boys looking to Em made me almoust fell off the sofa 😂😂😂
Three handsome fellas. Look forward to watching them be trained. Always enjoy your videos.
Champ looks so great and I can imagine what he's going to look like as a more mature stallion.
Boots us so pretty. All of them are awesome.
Love watching you train horses.
Love the boys! Champ is stunning and Boots is really good looking. It will be fun to watch all three come along to their potential. Fun video. When do we find out if Beauty is in foal?
Hah! I loved the "behind the scenes "😂😂
Beautiful horses
Champs head is gorgeous!
They are so beautiful. They look very content
heavenly happy healthy horses
Love the thumbnail!
Boots is a beautiful horse.
Love your videos❤
You can tell how much the horses love JR they are rubbing their foreheads on his arm ❤❤

@pattym.doolittle6038 I did watch the Colorado series, spectacular scenery. I agree with you, the training sessions were very interesting👍
My favorite is Groovy. ❤ He's had some medical issues to overcome. I hope Groovy will find the perfect family to love. He will be a blessing to them.
😂 the behind the scenes 😂 so close yet so far 😂 ❤ Love all of you!
My fav is boots! He is going to be amazing
This is a really good video! Loved it! Those three boys am so nice! Can’t wait too watch them bloom! 🥰
They are so Adorable and beautiful Horses 🐎 😍 ❤️ 💜 ♥️ 💕 ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Those beautiful horses look very small beside you.
Right? They look like ponies next to JR. Or maybe it's the canera angle. And I'm thinking to myself "Please ride the Clydesdales only". But that's just me. Sure the MFT's can handle it.
I love the behind the scenes portion!!!❤❤❤😂😂😂😂
I love Bootsy! Beautiful boys! Champ is Oliver's buddy.
I’m sure you captured a great image at the end. They are a stunning gang. ❤
Love your videos your horse love is catching!
I love your struggles to get these three to pose for you! Post-production is always a mess!
If i ever can own a horse this is the type i want ! Love that gaited outfit !
All 3 were nice to watch. I look forward to more videos of them growing and training. ❤️
Had to go back and watch Missinaboots birth video and I am officially saying that he’s my favorite !! Can’t wait to see him prove how magnificent he truly is ! ❤
That was so funny at the end!😂Good luck with all of them. ❤❤❤
The horses are thinking...crazy humans...
Groovy is so handsome. So happy he is safe with you
I’d take Boots. Haven’t had a horse in 42 years.
Boots is a stunner!
Yep, Boots looked surprisingly good in that ring. Nice ❤❤
I love watching these.!
Wow, they are beautiful
You guys are so fun 😂
That boots has a sweet look about him
They are all so beautiful!!!
I LOVE the picture of the three and the western font of names on the UA-cam page! 🖤🤎💛 Somebody's talented!!
... A "thumbnail".. that's what I was trying to think of! I love the making of the thumbnail too 😂
I'm sorry but don't know what a thumbnail is unless it's on my hand 😢❤❤❤
Love your videos all of you .... And Thomas is an absolute cutie pie who doesn't like to see him in the mix. 🎉❤😊
They are all three very nice horses. I'd really have trouble to decide which one's the cutest or most beautiful one.
I do like the black ..really like his look and movement. As well as your horse. They seem to be more relaxed on the walk. I know with a walking horse consistantly working and building muscle is important. Actually I like all 3 but I do like to show.
Nice video
IMO, Chance needs to stay a stud...he needs to pass on those amazing genes..Image was a STUNNING horse. (Nothing against Bob, he's amazing too).

Like how your jacket is covered in hair…

Are you going to consider showing your Clydesdales?
This was such an educational and fun video. Thank you for teaching me about MFT. Also love the behind the scenes :-)
😊hello from Arkansas
Thanks for sharing the information it could really help someone. ❤❤❤😊😊
I like Boots the best!!!❤❤❤
we are all born with the gift of life, talent is what we do with it..horse whisperer.
#2, #3, #1 Boots looks really smooth. Love champs gait also and his build. Merry Christmas.
Champ if left a student will look more like a quarter horse. He has great conformation😊😊
Great video today!
You have beautiful horses.I don’t know whole lot about horses.I watch your Channel 😊
I thought Ozark went to Joan as her riding horse.
Yes Ozark is Joan's horse .
Sounds like she wants both because they are somewhat small-she is very petite.
Sounds like she wants both because they are somewhat small-she is very petite.
I had a cat named boots .... He reminds me of him with the white "boots" 😢❤
Missing a boot is the perfect size for a quarter horse. I don't like when they started breeding Quarter Horses for height, they're supposed to be 14 to 14.4 Max for optimal cutting horse size

She did.
She did
Beautiful boy band😄

It would be sad if Champ is gelded. He would make wonderful babies with great temperaments, and he continues a great blood line.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOURS ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
