You all should come to Trinidad. We've got them like crazy and its so common that we don't even acknowledge it. We just refer to them as "wild pine". You can see them on electricity poles/wires, fences, mango trees...the list goes on. The variety is crazy
Air plants are the only thing I can keep alive! I love them. I love how light they are, just got a very minimalist brass ring holder for them. Very rental friendly :)
Sorry, I just laugh when you say it's the only species survive with your care. 😂 I've never heard it before but today, I just saw it in Wikihow and I became interested with it too.
I have a hard time keeping them alive, its a pain to water since i only have one so i just mist it. Its hard for me to tell when to mist though, often i overwater or i forget about the plant and underwater.
I thought she was laughing because of how small the plant is, yeah you can fit it anywhere. She also laughed that the plant can go a while without water. She's adorable
This is my first year with my airplants and I’m hoping I get them through the winter okay, I put mine in the fish tank once a week. I get mixed messages some dip in water and shake them some leave them in water for an hour. But can’t find anything on overwintering them. Wish I had a greenhouse
How are there enough nutrients in the air? Houseplants need to be repotted about once a year in fresh (nutrient rich) soil and/or fed plant food nutrients regularly. So confused about this!
Air plants, like any plants, need NPK to grow, so yes, you can use a (very small) dose of fertilizer on them. They're really easy to over-fertilize though. Also, they need epiphyte-specific fertilizer - Something like Miracle Gro has its nitrogen in a form that relies on bacteria in the soil to make it accessible to the plant, but obviously air plants don't have soil bacteria fixing the nitrogen for them.
Great information! But I think you have confused evolution with adaptation. One definition of Evolution is describing the aging process of something. But you are talking about how a species adapts to its surroundings over time. So please stick to the proper definition! The reason I say this is because most people don’t understand that there is more than one definition of “Evolution”! They may confuse the aging definition with the “origin of all things”! Of course, those of us who study logic don’t believe the scientific impossibility that nothing created everything!
It also may have to do with the fact that if i wanted Traditional media outlets, ID BUY A FECKIN MAGAZINE. Rechewed crap like this this is not why I come to youtube. Miss my Original Content Creators, but theyve driven a lot of them off platform to Patreon.
I know the UA-cam comments section isn’t the typical place to ask for plant advice, but I’m asking nonetheless. I bought a wispy tillandsia caerulea recently and I need some watering advice. All the places that I’ve looked up so far says dunking or misting works. Which one is more effective though?
Very artistic display devices, but disappointing that, despite the title that made me watch, it only tells how they get water, not nutrients. So: do they rely on fly and bird sh*t? I guess they must!
Momma bear, why so offended? If you know she's not talking about you what difference does it make? Why do you feel the need to advertise to the world that you're not a stereotypical millennial? Which ironically makes you a stereotypical millennial 🤣

Wow. Is Trinidad beautiful to you? I think I'd like to visit one day.
Oh wow! I want them! :)
I'm now tempted to travel to Trinidad to harvest a bunch of them 😅
@@RookHuntDoer oh yes ! We have our own timeless beauty. We are considered to be a third world country but we have our attractions nonetheless
@@jscraftynook4277 Thanks! It sounds really nice.

I was very curious how they survive without soil so nutrients from air makes a lot of sense. This deserves more views!
The old lady is always seem has a happy spirit, the guy is cute. And I want them air plants! 😍
I just started to care some. But very much excited to have more of them. They're so beautiful
I brought three, I did some research first to learn more about their care. I love them.
thanks a lot for this video i am researching air plants and this helped a lot.
Thank you for finally giving me some peace of mind 😄 you use to have so many questions but I feel complete.
Love these!!! The only plant I can have as I can't be around mold/mulch.
thank you ❤️ 🌵🍁☘️
1:21 Spanish moss is also a Tillandsia. Its called Tillandsia usneoides
Thank you for mentioning this. I was about to, lol
Nice air plant. Very informative videos. Thanks for your sharing.
No wonder millennials dislike Boomers, laughing at their small/tiny closet houses...
nah, its just karen.

Just keep em inside
I love my tillandsias.
This video is awesome, thanks for sharing.

I also felt like eating a rich person. 💙
If they can create a tillandsia that has a Fruit Yield, they could be Revolutionary.
There may be hope for me! I'm going to try with my new house. Beautiful and exotic!
Great video, thanks. 👍
Hello..im julia sarawak malaysia..love to see tilandsia..🥰🥰🥰
Very very interesting video. Now, I need to order some.
THANK YOU 🎉🎉😮😮
I love this
How can I find the app. Couldn't find it
most interesting keep me update we have nursery in south africa
I had this suspicion that air plants spread laughing pheromones in a small dose, based on this video
Hehehe
Sweet.
These are so neat.
Woo amazing 👍👍
Trichomes is a familiar word from a very different world...
Same world. Ironically, it's our own species that created this odd separation with which we view one of those plants through.
this plant is a producer water !!!!! terrific !!! 💦 🌿☘ 💧🌊🌥 for 🌎

If we can make these edible would be a game changer
Can they survive in full day bright indirect sunlight in a balcony with regular misting?
Does anyone know the name of the cultivar at @3:59 ?
Donde puedo tomar un curso para saber mas de su reproducción
The Air plant they grows on the electric wire we see lots on trees 🌳
I love my tillandsia.

How do air plants reproduce?
late reply but they grow buds and flowers and the wind helps them spread
Why is there barely any views?(they have around 300k subs and they only have 51 views)

Dawn Mcilmoyle you don’t think this is a valuable piece? I wouldn’t call this “rechewed”-the NYer does some really interesting video stuff, imo.
Should you spray them with liquid fertilizer?

I personally like dunking. All they really need is about a 10min soak once a week; or at least that’s what I found.
I think both dunking and misting...i saw them today and was so mesmerised 🌸
My brothers element is air and he found out about this plant😂
3:35
what kind of plant is that ???
I have one didn’t know what it was
COVID brought me here.
How to to get seeds?
I have 6 very small ones, i keep in the bath room. Is that ok?😳
If the bathroom has a window with some natural light, then yes. Otherwise they won't do well in the long run if it's just artificial lights
Same question 🙋♀️
0:39 *laughs in boomer*

They only need water.
This isn’t the only form of information you have. Do some googling.
They are related to pineapples!
Anyone know more about where this woman's nursery is? I want to go visit!
She is very famous in the Tillandsia business, check out "Bird rock tropical".
@@plantagoviola969 Nice thank you! Another reason to go visit San Diego :-)
Talking about parasites and presenting a Vanda seedling at 4:47 ...... You failed... Miserably...
What's great about them? They don't need a pot or dirt. It's just the cost of the plant!
wow they are way to expensive to buy
could they paste to an old crab
I got one in school it cost 7 dollars because it was a ilttle big
What do you mean that you made.
Did that woman just say the new world? Where has she been the past 500 years?
Shes so cute, what a baddie in the 80s lol

Momma bear, why so offended? If you know she's not talking about you what difference does it make? Why do you feel the need to advertise to the world that you're not a stereotypical millennial? Which ironically makes you a stereotypical millennial 🤣
Because our elders prefer to project their issues onto us instead of dealing with them like adults. Participation trophies, entitlement, etc.
Whatever tf paige "so offended" turnner is, etc.
Hello it's three years later and they're even worse now. 💙🩵💙
Namamatay nman ung mga airplant ko
