Thank you so much for Having such a positive atmosphere talking about HIV I was diagnosed in 1994 and it was the most devastating time in my life especially when people were dying and the different medication they had in the being. But I have came a long way to get to where I am at today and I have always been honest with whoever I dealt with. At 59 years old and still here today I thank the lord for His grace and mercy that I am here today to be a living Advocate for others to know you can live a Positive and blessed life. Just because your positive doesn’t mean you don’t deserve to live a good life. Thank you all for sharing your Testimonies 🥰🥰🌹🌹
I could not click fast enough! I was born negative to a positive mom and growing up I learned not to tell anyone my mom was positive because I would get teased so bad. SMH. I’m ALWAYS going to Stan for HIV activists, and it’s the reason why I went to grad school to study HIV biology.
I love this. I always thought that anybody who has a disease such as HIV or Herpes etc should never feel ashamed. When we look at cancer, diabetes, and other illnesses it’s ok for individuals to be public with it but with HIV people still act like they have to treat people different or discriminate. There are people who are still afraid to say they have it in fear of ridicule, mistreatment etc.
I needed this because I am not hiv positive but I’m from an area where it’s very prevalent. Education is very important for me because I hear ppl say harmful things that genuinely scare me- I think “how could non hiv positive ppl think so close minded about what they DON’T KNOW.” Listening to real hiv positive experiences is what I personally need to combat toxic rhetoric and the conversation about “outting” others WHEEEWW!!! Thank you for this. I love how y’all reiterated that the HIV epidemic is something that we all as a community have to work together to end, and to take on the responsibility of educating ourselves. It’s not a battle that one should fight alone; positive or not. The conversation was beautiful, you all look amazing, and again, thanks for the wisdom. ❤️
