Same! I get so overwhelmed. But when I'm calm the words just roll off. I know I have a knack for verbiage but sometimes, people come for you with such intentional malice, it paralyzes. It's different when a person is genuinely bothered by something about me. I can counter that easy. But lately, i get confronted with intent. I might sneeze and somebody just starts roasting me to then close with: oh I did not mean it. You are so sensitive." And that is scary to me. When you realise that the only reason you are being attacked is because they only want to make you feel bad. Get you off balance. I've had people intentionally gaslighting me and smiling at me when it had the desired effect. Been over 10 years and I don't recognize myself anymore

There's the aggressive Karens who will start yelling and cause a scene, the victim-acting Karens who will start saying you're being so mean to them, the faux-nice Karens who will try to have a conversation with you about why you're wrong and make a point of telling you how reasonable she's being if only you would just listen. Then there's the Karen who will flip flop between any of those techniques when one isn't working for her. The way she says “cannot disguise the fact that you don’t know who you are” is a gorgeous line. She knows a lost person when she sees one and this woman is as lost as Electra is found. That’s what makes this comeback powerful… not the fact that she’s telling her off in the middle of a restaurant… but the fact that she is more secure in her identity than the privileged woman trying to tell her that she shouldn’t be.

As you said they could put the child up for adoption, that is a possibility yes, but some people generally deal with that heart break of having to lose their child like that. I dont know how to explain it cause I dont plan on getting pregnant or ever having kids as im trans but from stories ive heard about giving there babys away its a very hard to do and can actually cause the person giving birth to go into a depression, infact it can be the same with abortion. tbh it just depends on who you are. I adore scenes like this because it perfectly demonstrates that, sometimes, performance matters so much more than continuity. Did anyone watching this notice- or care- that Elekta’s arms wildly changed positions between shots? Nope. Not at all. Sometimes, performance comes first.

Tbh she couldve just been a v masculine woman but we knew her b4 she started transition. This drunk ass woman was following her into the fucking restroom trying to peep on her so the bartenders closed her group's tab and took her out. Definitely not as slick as this scene, she was shouting nasty things as her table just looked quietly down pretending it wasnt happenibh

@@vipse6586 - I'm so glad the bartender kicked her out. What the hell is wrong with people? We had a situation with my partner several years ago. She's not trans, but she's a masculine lesbian and wears men's clothing and from the back some people mistake her for a guy. However, her face is very soft and feminine. We were in a restaurant and she got up to go to the ladies room. Some fool saw her from behind and started screaming at her that she couldn't go in there, threatening to call the cops, etc. My girlfriend turned around and the idiot realized that she had been screaming at a woman. She didn't apologize or anything, just went back to her table. She wasn't even drunk, just ignorant and hateful. Management didn't make her leave, they didn't say a word to her. My girlfriend and I left before our meals arrived. No way were we going to pay for service at a place who didn't care about us being mistreated.

@@Rainbow_Neos1 I'm not trans, but still part of the LGBTQ+, so take it with a grain of salt.
What I believe here is the case is that Elektra is a confident, trans black woman who has struggled many years with her true identity, her feelings etc. But the fact that she had to fight for those feelings and come to terms with who she really is, is at the heart of self discovery.
The white woman however, who has been pampered by everyone in her life (at least it looks like that), has never faced proper strife, and couldn't grow from it and discover herself.
Basically what I'm trying to say is, is that people who develop positively from hardships are more confident in one's self, since they know who they really are and can't get manipulated by other people.
The opposite is true for people who didn't face struggle or decided to ignore it, as they are the ones who usually project their insecurities onto others to manipulate and shame them (like the white woman did to Elektra).
Trans people face the most struggle out of everyone in this world imo, for various reasons. Because of that, Elektra is more sure of herself than that other woman, someone who never had to do something by herself (allegedly).

No words can properly describe the amount of courage, self-respect, and dignity that Elektra embodies in this scene. I can honestly say that I envy her. I don't know if I would have the courage to speak my mind or the self control to keep from slapping that woman if she ever insulted me for whatever reason.
