I adore scenes like this because it perfectly demonstrates that, sometimes, performance matters so much more than continuity. Did anyone watching this notice- or care- that Elekta’s arms wildly changed positions between shots? Nope. Not at all. Sometimes, performance comes first.

What I believe here is the case is that Elektra is a confident, trans black woman who has struggled many years with her true identity, her feelings etc. But the fact that she had to fight for those feelings and come to terms with who she really is, is at the heart of self discovery. The white woman however, who has been pampered by everyone in her life (at least it looks like that), has never faced proper strife, and couldn't grow from it and discover herself. Basically what I'm trying to say is, is that people who develop positively from hardships are more confident in one's self, since they know who they really are and can't get manipulated by other people. The opposite is true for people who didn't face struggle or decided to ignore it, as they are the ones who usually project their insecurities onto others to manipulate and shame them (like the white woman did to Elektra). Trans people face the most struggle out of everyone in this world imo, for various reasons. What I believe here is the case is that Elektra is a confident, trans black woman who has struggled many years with her true identity, her feelings etc. But the fact that she had to fight for those feelings and come to terms with who she really is, is at the heart of self discovery.
The white woman however, who has been pampered by everyone in her life (at least it looks like that), has never faced proper strife, and couldn't grow from it and discover herself.
Basically what I'm trying to say is, is that people who develop positively from hardships are more confident in one's self, since they know who they really are and can't get manipulated by other people.
The opposite is true for people who didn't face struggle or decided to ignore it, as they are the ones who usually project their insecurities onto others to manipulate and shame them (like the white woman did to Elektra).
Trans people face the most struggle out of everyone in this world imo, for various reasons. Because of that, Elektra is more sure of herself than that other woman, someone who never had to do something by herself (allegedly).

No words can properly describe the amount of courage, self-respect, and dignity that Elektra embodies in this scene. I can honestly say that I envy her.
