  • The COM-B model and the Behaviour Change Wheel have become popular tools for people developing interventions to influence human behaviour. This video provides a quick and digestible introduction to these tools. There is lots of information in it, so it will be useful to bookmark it and keep coming back to it.

    Thank you for the presentation Dr. West. But something that always bothering me about this model and the 2011 paper is that how the components of model are not well-defined. How you define "intervention function", "Policy category"? what is and is not "education", "persuasion", ...? I am saying this after reading more than a decade of research using this framework. The lack of definitions has led to numerous mediocre research that use their own interpretations and are impossible to be aggregated. Thank you again for your precious study.

      They are defined in the original article, the book and the video e.g. 14 min and 43 seconds in. We are now creating formal 'ontological definitions' to link up with the Behaviour Change Intervention Ontology (see www.youtube.com/@humanbehaviourchangeproject)
