Golden definition right there: enlightenment means disentangling identity first from thought and then disentangling identity from form and perception - Angelo Dillulo
The last thing than Angelo mentioned, focus on awakening and the rest of life will fall in place, was super useful for me. I’d been torn over where to focus, create the things I want in life or awakening. Now that’s answered
What a beautiful, honest, and heartfelt interview! Love it! Plus, I laughed so hard at Violet's attempts to say Nisargadatta, Nisagardarattga, Nisargargattara... can be turned into a mantra for meditation! 🤣🤣🤣 Please don't take me wrong! Love you guys! 😍 🙏❤️❤️❤️
57:26 🥹 Thank you Violet for this interview-there’s so many moments! Angelo this is the best interview I’ve ever seen. 😊🥰 so very very helpful, freeing 🙏🏻♥️
This answered so many questions I’ve wanted to ask Angelo. I love how you picked his brain and dug into things with follow up questions and how you were in tune with those of us who are early in our realization journeys. Please do a Part 2 with him soon!
Yesterday I said to my partner that Angelo doesn’t talk much about his personal life…and today here it is😊 I like to see the personal side for me this is helpful …it blends with the rest…got a few good pointers also😊 Thank you
I like the way that Angelo was kind of shocked that there are other people wanting to talk about this stuff. Thank you both and all the commentors and the internet for being there to share your stories and thoughts.
What a lovely conversation. Just finished. Perhaps the thing that piques the most interest for me is Angelo’s comment that for him the only real point of spirituality was total annihilation. Love that. Thank you both for this, and for everything you do… 🙏💜🔥🫥⭕️😂
I was lucky enough to get a job as a student nurse in the PACU. I spent a lot of my time in the OR observing the surgery but also observing the anesthesiologist. Learned so much from them. As a student I was in awe.
This was such an enjoyable interview to watch for so many different reasons. The Jeopardy theme was so much fun and will definitely have to check out the music and movies suggested too. I think the reason Angelo's book stuck out to me at the start when I first read it was because it quotes so much from one of my favourite movies, the Matrix. 😊
Angelo's awakening is actually a neuroscience based event, where input from all senses creates a simulation of the world and a separate sense of self. When one awakens, the two separate simulations merge. Please encourage Angelo to have a Diffusion Tennsor MRI so we all can see the neuro correlates of awakening . BEST WISHE
Great interview Violet! Thank you! Could you ask Angelo to clarify Gangaji's question to him - I think he said she asked: " on any given day, if the emptiness is out of alignment with the awareness is out of alignment with the person, is that a problem?". It was a bit of a confusing sentence, would love if he could clarify this. Thanks so much to you both.
I came back to this to finish listening. I learned so much! Such great questions. I have a better understanding of the experience of awakening. Thank you💕
Angelo, you're right. I have been in probably 100 codes in the past 2 decades and my heart beat speeds up during (adrenaline) but my body is in auto piolet, so strange. But it's sooo nice to have that one person come in and calm the environment and lead the code. Its usally the Doc, if theres one around. But tbh, before awakening i viewed jt as detachment i think? After awakening i view it as detachment, but in a good healthy way, idk if that makes sense 😅
Love this…Violet you are a keen interviewer! Want to add about the necessity of suffering for awakening: legend of the Buddha is that he lived a privileged, easy life. One day he left the royal compound and witnessed sickness, old age and death. He was horrified and left the compound and imposed extreme suffering on himself to try to wake up. It was only when he found the middle path that he awakened. 💫Good lesson, eh? Thanks to you both!
Gorgeous couple! You co-create some great advice. I can’t actually remember it, but I let it wash over me as I was driving home today, rather than attempting to hold an intellectual knowing….
A very profound point about examining your likes and dislikes, of course easier said than done, without having some kind of shift it seems like I can only try to convince myself that the dislike is not there -- maybe that will help, I don't know.
Damnit, I should have asked for his Top 15 Tool songs 🤣 I wanted "Reflection" and "The Grudge" on his list lol Great interview, thanks a lot for doing this :-)
My question: Angelo, how do your professional peers view your newfound "guru" status? Medicine tends to be pretty conservative I think. Are you considered odd?
I hope you noticed that I put the word guru in quotes. But anyone who teaches how to awaken or realize enlightenment will be seen this way by many, and will often be considered a crackpot. This is not how I feel at all though. .
Hei Angelo!😊 Any ideea when your book about post awekaning will be out? Working with fetter method now for 4&5 and it seems that more advice is needed here.
Thanks for the great interview. I also love the soft music playing in the background. Could listen to that all day as a background soundtrack to my life, lol. Is it something that's available somewhere?
Cypher betrayed the rest of the crew in the Matrix for the chance to be plugged back in. The struggle with being awake was too hard, he wanted blissful ignorance.
@@SamStone1964 that’s why the best interviewers are people like Lex Fridman. He is stone silent after he asks a question and just listens silently and completely until they’re done answering.
@@ziggypip2938 Yes I really enjoy Lex Fridman interviews. I've watched other interviews with Angelo and they are laid back and calm. This woman has a frenetic need to jump in and talk over Angelo. The only time he gets to speak is when she's busy reading her notepad and not listening to him. And then when he stops speaking she looks up and pretends she was listening by saying something irrelevant such as "that was beautiful". So disingenuous. So rude. So disconnected.
@@Being_Violet :-) I had the same question about the amount of ads. It is a little too much 😄 ♡ I am listening for 30 minutes and have heard about 8 advertisements. But now I understand why :-)

Hard to tell isn't it?
She says right at the beginning that they’ve been “companions” for five years, so yes.
Is it safe to assume y'all are a couple?
I believe they are indeed a couple .
I only clicked on this because I thought Violet was cute.
Cypher, name of the guy who wanted to go back in the Matrix
Yeah I thought it was funny, for someone who teaches people how to wake up, his day job is putting people to sleep.
Hilarious! I hadn't thought of that!!
But then he wakes them up. No wonder he’s so good at helping people wake up! 😄
