My mom worked for China Airlines, and since she worked there for 12 years, she gets 12 years of free airline tickets on China Airlines, about 3-4 tickets each year.
AnoukhHellstream United is professional and the only reason why united pulled that doctor off the plane is voluntary purposes. It states on the back of your ticket that you may have a chance to be picked as a volunteer and besides that doctor was doing illegal things with his practice
Actually it depends on the airline. But for the most part, none of the flight attendants with airlines in the US have to deal with these. At least the most ridiculous ones.
I always see flight attendants drinking soda and eating on planes when I got to use the bathroom, they're sitting in the back talking with each other and eating and they even use the bathrooms idk what you're talking about
The airlines have people incognito that will 'write up' the FA if caught in the wrong shoes, wearing the uniform wrong, wearing the wrong jewelry, etc....
None of these are true. If you want to travel the world, this is probably the best option. The only things on this list that are close are dress code and being away from home alot, which make sense because they want crew to be easily recognizable and also they are traveling the world, so obviosly they wont be home all the time.
Actually, I have been a flight att for 13 years for a legacy carrier. I have had training for 3 different major carriers due to mergers and acquisitions. I will say Every Single Thing on here I have experienced personally. It does Depend on the carrier and its requirements and their aircraft fleet coupled with the carriers destinations. We have had survival training and have been required to don a life vest and swim 25meters to a life raft. We r quizzed on land and water survival. We r also trained in CPR, firefighting and triage. We have to re-qualify every year and altho there isn't an actual "weight/size" restriction, they have to test to ensure u can fit thru the aisle, jump seat and window exit without having to turn sideways or modify movement. Also, a person must be able to reach all safety/emergency equipment which r often times secured n the overhead bins. The larger the aircraft, the bigger and higher the bin, therefore, if someone isn't tall enough to reach said equipment, they cannot fly for that particular carrier. The beauty/appearance restrictions all exist and r strictly enforced but once someone is out of training and past their 1 year probation period, people become more lax. I have never had a major holiday off to see my family in all 13 years as well. This particular channel can't just pull these ridiculous rules everyone is claiming to be fake out of thin air. It's all 100% accurate, however, it is circumstantial. Some of the requirements they r reference is more initial training protocol as opposed to everyday operations. But I have personally been subject to check rides and appearance inspections several times throughout my career. It's a combination of FAA regulations and company policy compliance.
Most of these are not true both my parents were flight attendants my dad for 34 years and mum was for 8 years and the love thing is not true because they married on the plane and when my mum was pregnant she got leave and neither of them ever got fired
Puppylover Puppies yeah that's quite possible also, airlines from asia and the middle east tend to be more strict in their flight attendant requirements especially asia
I'm a flight attendant and some of these things are true. Like the height, makeup, and keeping your weight good for your height. The good personality is true as well.
sav w you were just exposed If your a pilot get some grammar and stop watching videos like this mr pilot. If you're a pilot u probably don't have times
My mom and Aunt are flight attendant for Alaska Airlines and I've never heard of most of these "requirements." You have to be tall enough to reach the overhead bins and strong enough to lift luggage into it for passengers and to assist passengers in case of an emergency. There are plenty of chubby flight attendants, you just have to be able to fit down the aisle. You have to be friendly, have good customer service, and be able to assist in emergencies. When you're new and have no seniority you get plugged in and sent wherever is needed and you're on call, it's brutal. After nearly 20 years, my mom has high seniority, gets any trip she wants (they bid for certain trips and schedules) and gets paid a a lot of money when she chooses to work. I don't know if the video's requirements of "you have to be a super model, can't have any tattoos even if they're hidden, etc..." are the standards of a different country or if they're just making them up.
I met a lovely flight attendant, she started talking to me, then she called me darling and sweetie, and wished me an happy flight and even saying she wanted to see me on her next flight. BEST FLIGHT ATTENDANT EVER! ✈️
Itsxhollsx I know you were joking, but fun fact, it's taught in classes that if you can see the swirl on the engine, then you can safely approach it, if you can't then it means it's running, obviously, and to stay away from it
I've been a flight attendant for almost 3 years and with two different airlines. I feel like a lot of these are probably outdated or just don't apply to US carriers at all. Asian and European carriers are more strict.
To be brutally honest I am a frequent business class flyer, I couldn't care less about how the cabin crew look. All I care about is they have my back in case of an emergency, after all that's the most important thing, isn't it?
I absolutely hate channels that spend more than a second BEFORE actually doing the video about liking and subscribing i will do what i want thank you very much
Unfortunately, you want a simple Cordial but they sell fruit shoots for your Kidney and some Booze for your soul, and the fruit shoot still does not quench that thirst
they say that and I bet you some air that the next time you fly, you will see flight attendants having a nice conversation. basically doing what people do.
They make it seem as if you get no down time😂 my sister is a flight attendant and gets PLENTY. She’ll go to work and be like “we can hang out when I get back from Orlando later” and we’re near New York. It’s a lot of commitment but you can still have a social life outside of it.
This is a very important professional list that many other Companies should do when hiring people. Personal Presentation it's very important. F.A. should look their best and be really nice. They are key for safe travel.
9:23 I have seen flight attendents eating and going to the bathroom. Actually they use the same bathrooms as passengers do and if you look into the galley you sometimes see them eating. They only schedule this activities so that they do it when most passengers are on their seats (but not during landing or take-off) because These are the times when they don't ahe a lot ofwork to do.
I know this is late, but none of these are true. My aunt is a flight attendant and has never heard of any of these requirements except for the safety guidelines.
I'm studying in a international college taking a double degree of HRM and Tourism course and this is one of the few practices we are already doing. except for the dummy training, instead we jump more than 20 feet and into the pool in case the cruise or plane crashes
Well,it's just too difficult for even a slender person to squeeze through those narrow aisles that most planes have now & Flight Attendants have to do that for a living. Also,if you're overweight, you might not be as fit to deal w/long flights However, fitting exact measurements is unnecessary & more for aesthetic reasons.(Imo,anyway!)
Horseless Headless Horseman Not discrimination - you know the requirements when you sign up, you're given time to get ready, the airlines want money and some girls fat ass isn't exactly a money magnet, and finally, you need to be able to navigate the isles and bays with a passenger or fellow flight attendant
The rules vary from airline to airline. Courses are not irrelevant, especially in Brazil, you're required to go to through an ANAC accredited course and pass the ANAC tests before you can even send your resume to any airline. Depending on the country and airline you don't get "only" paid when you fly, in Brazil for Tam Airlines, for example you get paid a monthly base salary + miles that the plane flies. Of course the miles that you earn is more than twice your monthly base salary. The rest of the video is pretty accurate.
My friend is a flight attendant for American Airlines. Some of these are common sense items required for any job, like cleaning up your social media accounts. However, the ones that apply to just flight attendants are simply untrue. She's been an attendant for 20 years, and she's heavy, always has been. Short, always has been. And she's a heavy smoker. When it comes to smoking, the only rule is that you can't smoke unless you're on your own time, and if you do smoke while on the job, you have to stop up to 2 hours before boarding, and you have to spray yourself with perfume or cologne just to be safe.
Rules of a patriarch society...sexist, shallow and mostly ridiculous. I understand the height and weight just because the over head cabins are high and the aisles narrow, but the make up, the hair its all a bit much. I am in the military and even I think this is a bit too much.
For those who are saying these are fake, maybe it just matters on the Airlines. This can help those people who wants to be a flight attendant be ready even if its fake. Like they say, better safe than sorry.
I will happily continue studying networking and cyber security. (Though it seems that most of these are single strange rules for various obscure airlines that I haven't heard of in America. Moreover, I doubt any flight hostess would be required to meet more than MAYBE one of these requirements.)
My mum is an air hostess and these are true also they didn't mention it but you would have to get up at ridiculous hours in the morning and when you fly to somewhere you have to come straight back you don't normally get to stay there for long.
I loved being a flight attendant and was fot 11yrs. This job was one of the easiest hardest job I ever did. Starting in the industry sucks no money, life, so this job became your life. When your off your only friends were coworkers because they are only people you know in your new city. I worked for a commuter airline express. So my original base was DC they closed so I was transferred then closed so an other then an other. So I moved for times for my company. Most of the time they would reopen the based they closed but was usually up to main line. So if you can hang in where you do start moving up seniority list life gets better money gets better and you' The chili eventually hold a line. Which that's when you'll be able enjoy being a FA. It is not for everyone but everyone that did make past 1st few years love their jobs. Good luck.
Lower payment in case of delay and no payment in case of cancellation... I really wonder if that's not a serious violation of labor codes in different countries.
I am not in the flight industry, but I don t have a lot confidence watching this, all that superficial stuff is great, but if the plane has a problem, I would rather have good staff that can deal with the issue. More importantly than look perfect.
I've been a flight attendant for about almost 5 years now, and I can't imagine doing any other job. While I only work for a smaller company that does just domestic flights with a flights going to Canada and the Bahamas, I still am trying to get to on with the bigger companies because my dream is to do international flights specifically to Japan lol.
$30000 sounds actually pretty bad considering the stress of that job... I get about $45000, work 38h/week, have 52 vacation days per year and it's mostly staring to monitors
If there was a dude flight attendant who followed all these rules and the dress code, and a nice flight attendant who was overweight with tights, an oversized sweater, a messy bun and no makeup, I'd choose the second. Airlines should consider having less rules and politer/happier/more REAL flight attendants. A lot are nice but I've had ruuude flight attendants. And I feel like I'm on a flight with a bunch of barbies and kens. I'd rather just have a nice, and REAL flight attendant.
Mom worked for 10 years as flight attending. Her boss made a deal that if she worked for 20years then she can have free tickets. Who with the right mind will work that long?
for people debating whether these are true or not, it depends on the airline. hundreds of students signed up to be interviewed for PAL but only two made it- twin brothers (I know this because one was my ex) who fit the height, weight, asthetic requirements and relationship requirements
My mom worked for China Airlines, and since she worked there for 12 years, she gets 12 years of free airline tickets on China Airlines, about 3-4 tickets each year.

This may have been true in 1969, certainly not since 1985
I've gone in Emirates and the flight attendants are always very cheerful and kind 😀
And I'm pretty sure fitting yourself in the over head air cabin is not one of them...
Nico Cat I laughed so hard at this comment.

Very strange requirements. A bit of them feel outdated. Thanks for sharing!
I am a captain of a virgin plane and yeah these are all fake
sav w Not necessarily, it all depends on the airline, the Easyjet one wasn't fake so?
sav w it's true for some airlines, lots of these are rules apply to emirates

They may be beautiful, but I still ain't paying an arm and a fucking leg for a 50g of peanuts
Seriously, they need to reduce some prices
WinstontheScuntist And they are usually salted too, so you will spend the rest of your limbs for a drink.
Unfortunately, you want a simple Cordial but they sell fruit shoots for your Kidney and some Booze for your soul, and the fruit shoot still does not quench that thirst
WinstontheScuntist unfortunately I don't think it's up to the attendants to lower the prices, I think that's up to the big bosses😂
You are paying for transportation, not to be fed.
they give us free pretzels in american airlines. . .(no, i'm not riding 1st class.)
I always admired, and liked looking at different flight attendants when I worked at Dulles.
"some of the loneliest persons in the world" wtf lmfao
they say that and I bet you some air that the next time you fly, you will see flight attendants having a nice conversation. basically doing what people do.
i quoted it because they said "persons" instead of people lol
LOL I love that clip of Phil that they put in!!...(Phil Dunphy from Modern Family)

Viola Rose teachers have even more restrictions and they are required to have a minimum of 4-5 years of college with updates through out their careers
I went on a flight in the front seat and heard the flight attendants trash talking to each other when there were two toddlers listening

I'm a plane right know and I'm watching your vids lol nice vids talko and I sub lots of years ago lol

Back in the day, the stews used to ask "Coffee, tea or me".
There’s lots of ads! Stop milking ad revenue.
$30000 sounds actually pretty bad considering the stress of that job...
I get about $45000, work 38h/week, have 52 vacation days per year and it's mostly staring to monitors
Bro when I go to the bathroom at the back of the plane I see the flight attendants eating and taking naps😂
My aunt is a flight attendant and my uncle is a pilot but I didn’t know all of these requirements
Do flight attendants have to have a passaport
Harry at 7:59 has me S H O O K !!!!!!!
In some country a lot of that is actually illegal /discriminatory to be a requirement. That's 15 mins of my life I will never get back.
for people debating whether these are true or not, it depends on the airline. hundreds of students signed up to be interviewed for PAL but only two made it- twin brothers (I know this because one was my ex) who fit the height, weight, asthetic requirements and relationship requirements
