I love Bleu and almost all the Chanel. There is a common note in all of them that I feel is amazing. My wife owns Chance. I get a smile on my face evrerytime I wear bleu. It is awesome.

Now you describe this fragrance as very versatile that can be use pretty much all year round, even wearing blue jeans. Excellent take.

I've upped my liquor and got a fancy cocktail shaker and even upgraded my refrigerator last week...not because of the crushed ice...but I think they brought the one I had over on the Nina, now If I can find time to use all these new items I'll be a happy man!....also I like this fragrance, I don't own it and prob won't but it is a good pleasing scent that I'm sure 99% of people would enjoy
not so long ago now i was out in the gaslamp quarter in san digeo one night with a very special someone. i remember the air being thick with three very distinctive fragrances. they were acqua di gio, 1 million, and of course, bleu de chanel, which kinda says it all really. also, it's strange to think that a fragrance that i'm not really fan of, can take me back to such a happy time in my life, despite the fact that i don't/wasn't even wearing it..
As you know LucidScents...that is the wonderful magic of fragrance... You can travel back through time and memories at the mere whiff of perfume. (Or any fume for that matter.)
Can never understand the bad reviews on this perfume..for me I take it for what it is and thats an easy wearing t shirt & jeans chanel fragrance..and because its a chanel you know its quality even though its not a complex perfume but that to me is its strong point..Nice warm summer day dressed casually "even a nice pair of chino style jeans" and the smell of a nice well blended chanel perfume wafting off your skin..
excellent for office wear.. and agree when you have fragrances like Bleu , because it is not an overly perfumed scent, reapplication works well . anxious to try the parfum version..

Like your review and closing comment "Wear what you love and not what they say you should like". When reading reviews of Blue de Chanel on various websites such as Bassnotes and Fragrantica people call this a safe fragrance, nothing that stands out in the crowd. It's funny, if we followed their advice we'd all be wearing the fragrances that, for a brief moment, stood out in the crowd and then over time they would became more widespread and popular...hence safe. I agree with you, wear what you like.
I don't know that I appreciated Bleu for some time. I bought it in a quick decision at my local airport Duty Free, probably the WORST time and place to decide on a new perfume! I liked it, but it never did manage to replace ALLURE in my heart, though Antaeus has now done just that. Lovely bottle. (I can be very superficial!) I am enjoying your reviews.

I am not familiar with many of the men's Chanel, but I did sniff this one out after you recommended it. To your nose, is this diff than most of the Chanels sold in the men's department? I think the best perfumes are the ones that can be worn by both men and women. Great review!

Lanier Smith I have to report to you...I finally had my hub try this one on skin, please keep in mind that he is NOT in anyway a perfume consumer LOL! I didn't tell him the notes or anything about it...and his verdict??? He did not like it...he says it's "sporty and aquatic vibe" didn't appeal to him. BUT he LOVED Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille when I had him try it. He really surprises me with his insights at times, I try NOT to influence to tell him too much about perfumes cos I like a fresh take from someone who's not into perfumes heehee.
I think you did the perfect test! And your husband has excellent taste! Too much information before you smell a fragrance is not a good idea... puts ideas in the head that get in the way.

Hey Brandon welcome to the party. I have tried the pure Parfum and it is very good. I need to review it as well as a compare and contrast. You know... it is just a luck of the draw when it comes to pairing the cocktails to the scents. I usually pick the fragrance first and then ... look for a dink that simply looks delicious! Cheers.

Hi lanier, im 21 years old and i began to have interest and collect parfums fiew month ago. First of all i would like to say that your my favorite reviewer. I like the way that you bring an history with all parfums and to describe the fragrance itself. I also had a question. My favorite fragrance house is chanel because i like the freshness in their fragrance and i think they are "cloud pleasing" and easy to wear. I also noticed that olivier polge has a really different style of his father jacques. I beleive Jacques does more fresh/citrus woodsy/summer smells and olivier does more spicy/powdery/sensual/winter and more daring kind of smell (wish i also like). I was wondering if you think by changing of parfumer, the chanel fragrance signature is going to change alot?
Hello Guillaume Thank you for your wonderful comment and question. No I do not think the signature of Chanel's scents will change because of Olivier Polge taking over for his father. I think he will enhance the house and keep it young and vibrant with his new additions. Any changes that may occur as far as I see it would come from restrictions placed on notes that might be banned. Let's hope that is minimal. Thanks again for your wonderful comment.

Hello Carlos down in beautiful Panama! Well, to answer your lovely question I prefer Bleu de Chanel over Allure Homme Sport. Sport perfumes are usually rather light and watery to my nose. I prefer a bolder fragrances. But in your tropical climate that lighter touch of the Sport might be just the right thing. I would test them both if you can. Are you near a store where you can get samples to test? If you are not near a store you might try a sample service like Surrender to Chance online. Cheers!
Hello Lanier , excellent Im starting my own collection and yes here in panama we have really nice perfume boutiques there is actually one very similar to shepora and pretty much we they have all colognes except for the tierry muglers line they only sell Angel men but I think is too strong I like it but im afraid to scare people lol ...I tried Blue de channel and is awsome im going to get a big bottle of it ...and yes since is tropical wheather here sports cologne work fantastic, what you think about dolce and gabbana the one ...I do like it and I have heard many reviews about it good ones the only downfall they say is that it doesnt last too long but I have tried it on my skin and it last and projects at least 8 hours may be because of the weather ?? cheers

No I can't!! I have avoided them. I love the original as it is. for the most part I am not a flanker person...there are exceptions Chanel Allure Edition Blanche for example.

The have just released Bleu De Chanel eau de parfum its a lot sweeter and thicker than Bleu, although It doesn't project as much or last as long

The citris of Between the Sheets goes right with the initial top notes of the Bleu de Chanel. Cheers to you too brother, great channel!

Hello Lanier , excellent Im starting my own collection and yes here in panama we have really nice perfume boutiques there is actually one very similar to shepora and pretty much we they have all colognes except for the tierry muglers line they only sell Angel men but I think is too strong I like it but im afraid to scare people lol ...I tried Blue de channel and is awsome im going to get a big bottle of it ...and yes since is tropical wheather here sports cologne work fantastic, what you think about dolce and gabbana the one ...I do like it and I have heard many reviews about it good ones the only downfall they say is that it doesnt last too long but I have tried it on my skin and it last and projects at least 8 hours may be because of the weather ?? cheers

sometimes I wished I live in San Francisco, so much more places to go shopping for Chanel. I forgot to tell you last month I was in Paris, France, the chanel store at 31 Rue Cambon was so beautiful, the 2 I bought was N 22 and 31 Rue Cambon both from the exclusives ! Cheers Lanier

No I can't!! I have avoided them. I love the original as it is. for the most part I am not a flanker person...there are exceptions Chanel Allure Edition Blanche for example.

+Lanier Smith thanks for the speedy reply! I was thinking that spraying directly from the bottle into another travel-sized bottle might compromise the fragrance (kind of like rubbing your wrists together after applying the fragrance does), but if you don't find this to be the case, then I'm A-OK!
I don't disparage Bleu de Chanel because it's generic, I shun it because it's an obnoxious synthetic chemical flame thrower that seems to be worn in heavy doses by every guy on the make. We'll have to agree to disagree on this one. Otherwise I appreciate your thoughtful presentations.

Excellent review my dear friend Mr Smith, between the sheets is a very kind a a sensual name for a cocktail, I love the way you describe this woody aromatic scen, I've been trying to decide wich one will be my second bottle fron the house of chanel, I already own Allure Homme. Now you describe this fragrance as very versatile that can be use pretty much all year round, even wearing blue jeans. Excellent take.
