YESTERDAY DIES TOMORROW (teaser trailer)
Just fooling round I created a teaser trailer form some art pieces of mine and some AI pieces I dreamed up. Then I animated those stills and voila! Coming next summer to an imaginary cinema near you! (Like James Bond I will return with more fragrance reviews!)

I did this video six years ago as part of a collaboration with Sebastian Jarra. I came across it today and thought it would be fun to share. Don't worry I am working on more reviews. Like the Steven Sondheim song says, "Good times and bum times, I've seen them all, and, my dear, I'm still here. Plush velvet sometimes, sometimes just pretzels and beer, but I'm here. I've stuffed the dailies in m...

Grey flannel is awesome! Thank you for the review. When I wear it I feel I'm walking on 5th Avenue on cold cloudy day! I love it. Great review!
@@georgecastaneda-of2md thank you George. Cheers!
Hello, between Houbigant-Fougere Royale and Nicolai-New York Intense which one is the better fragrance if you could buy only one?
@@JJHills-ho3br hi! I would go with Fougere Royale. Cheers
@@laniersmith1798 Thanks for the fast response,i appreciate it.
I like the look of the suave, dapper villain....looks suspiciously like a young Lanier who looks like he could easily steal Liz Taylor from Daniel Craig...
Well-done, yet again Monsieur Lanier!
Well-done, as usual Monsieur Lanier!
Beautiful done Mister Smith , 🙏👍
Brilliant. Love the B&W cameos of yourself. Have you had a chance to try the 007 Floris EdP?
No I haven't tried it yet. going to get it today! Cheers
Love it.
And what they are smelling like lanier? i don't know why i was thinking about Dame Elizabeth Taylor watching your trailer. Have you seen the new documentary " Elizabeth Taylor: The lost tapes" ? it's wonderful, just a bunch of tapes from 1964 found and here she is full of life, wit and grit
There is a reason you thought of her during this trailer... I based one of the women on her. In fact, I also based the other women in the video on Lana Turner, Ava Gardner and Elizabeth. Yes, I have seen that wonderful documentary. I have the 1964 autobiography that was created from the tapes.
A new Lanier video! 😲🎉
Good Morning 🌞 Wonderful reviews of Yardley, first of all you remind me of the actor Frank Langella . I tried Yardley Classic in a local store and it reminded me of Versace the dreamer but later on in the day it left a horrible smell on my skin , almost like a stale sweat , pissy smell 😮 So I will avoid buying it .
Oranges and peppercorns in a old wooden dresser
Wonderful review.
I'm not a fan of their products. Or I should say the one's I've tried. For instance Taylor of Old Bond St. Luxury Sandlewood Cologne. While certainly not bad. However I would prefer to use Mandate which was released in 1976. I found it to be a better substitute & a softer fragrance. I actually saw the very same item you were reviewing today. I'm glad I gave it a miss.
Hoping you're having an great Summer. Can't wait to see what special treats you have in store for us. Cheers!
I love the format you ate serving: the longer format with the background music is great. ❤
Is it redundant to have both of them edt and EDP pour Monsieur
Mr Smith, you pronounced it as ‘La-Ren’, which is what I actually prefer, but unfortunately it’s meant to be pronounced ‘Law-ren’! To me, like yourself, ‘La-Ren’ sounds better…more French and sophisticated!
Wonderful review!☺️
Chanel platinum egoiste is so hard to find... Any similar fragrances you would recommend...??
Many years later......I have bottles of the original 2001 version of Michael for Men by Michael Kors. It's one of my favorites. Its pretty smoky and can be a bit rough if your nose is more accustomed to modern scents with no speed bumps. But its when the plum and dried fruit notes in the base manifest the most when it works its magic. Longevity is outstanding.
Beautiful ❤I think about CC number 1 for men and X for women
When Elon Musk announced he was moving twitter “X” from San Francisco to Texas, I immediately thought of you because it was through one of your videos years ago that you walked around and you showed us where that building was and I thank you for all your educational videos that you’ve ever put out!!!!
I would describe Bowling Green as related to Drakkar Noir (albeit with a lighter and less dense character) as well as Gillette Cool Wave aftershave and the green La Toja aftershave splash. It is more sophisticated than any of those, but somewhat comparable.
How absolutely fascinating, tank you . Cheers!
Hi Lanier, Seth here from Olympia. (I changed my UA-cam name a little while ago.) Some fragrances that I think are consistent with this theme are Guerlain Vetiver, Dana (nowadays) Monsieur Musk, and Proraso Red (sandalwood) aftershave.
You are in Olympia? I’m in Lacey! Hello neighbor. Cheers.
@@laniersmith1798 Wow! Just yesterday, my wife and I took a walk in Wonderwood Park. We're in Lacey quite a bit.
5:47 thought you were going to mention See No Evil, Hear No Evil (1989) for a second. Lol
Monsieur is the best for gentlemen. I also love Paco Rabanne. I like 1959, its my birth year.
Just ordered my first bottle. Been a fraghead for years but somehow always forgot this. Thank you Lanier for reminding me and as always a great video!
Thank you Harry! Cheers 👍
Those photos of yours are very impressive. Such a beautiful, noble face... I love your voice and the way you speak. You are very elegant, very classy.
Thank you so very much. Cheers.you are so kind.
What a lovely coincidence! When I decided to buy my first designers fragrance with my first salary back in 1993, I went to Chanel’s counter and asked for Egoiste. The sales lady told me that I should buy something more trendy and youthful like Cool Water but I said I didn’t want to smell like the rest. Then I went for something more appropriate for daytime and she offered me Eternity. I chose Chanel pour Monsieur instead and I was delighted with my choice. One day, many years afterwards,I learned from someone who deserves all my respect the following thing: Wear what you love and not what they tell you!❤
Your story is unbelievable. When I went to Chanel's counter, ladies there never offered me something not from Chanel. In fact, never ever any lady in the fragrance department offered me not what I was interested in. I wear only what I love because I buy fragrances for myself. However, there are people who need an advice on fragrances because they want to impress others.
I wore it a lot back in the day. Initially, it was a gift from my maternal auntie Ena because she fell in love with the scent while shopping on base (McChord Air Force Base) back in the day. I had been wearing Grey Flannel for years, but this scent was lovely for spring and summer. I loved it and was saddened that it was discontinued. And bring back Kenzo Tokyo too!
Wonderful to hear your take on these classic gems from Ralph Lauren. I loved Safari for Men when it was first released, and it became a daily driver for me at the time. I think it's worth noting that the 1985 film, "Out of Africa" (with Meryl Streep and Robert Redford) based on the novel by Isak Dinesen/Karen Blixen - surely must have had stylistic and romantic influences on RL's Safari campaign.
I stand corrected - RL's Safari campaign launched in spring of 1984, and pre-dated Sydney Pollack's "Out of Africa" by a year. However, in a 1986 NY Times piece on Milena Canonero, costume designer for the 1985 film, Ralph Lauren is cited as being influenced by "her work".
Dear sir, can you find the Batchcode number under the bottle? cause down there is nothing. it's just under the box. I'm worried that my perfume not authentic...
You are best perfume presenter on you tube..bravo lanier xo
Thank you, Julie! Cheers.
@@laniersmith1798 You were soooo handsome 🤩
Hi dear. Very good review, as always . Could I know where have you found that book ? Thank you 😊
Can you please review Millesime 1849 by Creed, that was re-releazed in 2023. I am confident you will love it. It smells in between Chanel 5 and the Chypre Fulminare.
❤ Awesome review!🎉
Love your reviews! Have you done one for guerlain Jicky yet? That’s my favorite fragrance!
Thanks Mac, I think I have a few years back. Cheers.
Just because some old lady was wearing it doesn’t mean it’s how it smells lol
Love the cocktail……bois des îles is devine…just trying it for the first time……❤ going to Paris in September….31 rue Cambon is where i gonna be ❤
Finally, a men’s fragrance channel that seems classy and not an “influencer” channel
Would love a video on the work of Bernard Chant. Like the Elizabeth Taylor video you did. Hes probably my favorite perfumer
Wonderful review sir, classy as always. This is a perfume I've been wearing non stop the last few weeks.
Great review! Nice to see you again, love from Brazil!
Another fun reference to Shalimar in a movie is from See No Evil, Hear No Evil (1989) starring Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder. The fabulous villainess is portrayed by Joan Severance (80s supermodel-turned-actress), and Richard Pryor's character, who is blind, identifies her by the Shalimar she wears. I adore Joan, so I blind bought a bottle of Shalimar so I could smell like her. And now every time my film group watches a Joan Severance film, I spritz a little Shalimar for the occasion.
Subbed! Great video
thank you!
❤ Awesome!🎉
