ShartimusPrime Biography:
Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor for adult collectors, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

Small note, as a Marauder Vertigo would be fighting the Morlocks, not hanging with them 😉 Aside from that, I hear you on this and MOST of these box sets. Lure us in with one or two figures we want and then load us down with re-use we don’t. This is Hasbro Legends…this is the way. 🤷♂️

You can’t gauge any character’s size off of Liefeld art. He paid as much attention to scale as he did to anatomy.
I think that was Joe Quesada’s art that was shown in the video and not Liefelds.
Pretty boy is the star of the show in my book, too bad they put him in a crappy box set.
They did it on purpose knowing some of theese would sell poorly alone. I guess they calculate that the overall loss of people unwilling to pay for the 5-pack is less than the overall gain. But every time they do this they loose goodwill too.
Wild to think the Reavers are almost a complete set now, though.
I really wasn't in a good mood yesterday because this girl that I had a crush on called me a big turd, But......This video did got me thinking of what X-MEN figures to get because I will get the 80s Outback Rogue, retro carded lab coat blue Beast, retro carded Dark Phoenix, and Longshot, Great review overall Shartimusprime

Zero literally looks like a better Spot figure than the Spot figure that’s coming out for the Across the Spider Verse wave.

I agree, it's so weird to see Random so well proportioned.
The first Random figure (ToyBiz 90s Pre Legends), is equally tiny for its line but his proportions are beefer and it's perfect if you collect Marvel Universe

I liked the size of Random. I think it is pretty accurate. Those images where it looks like he's so much bigger are more due to artist interpretation. Of course it's been many years but i dont think he was ever meant to big that big. There are a lot of images where he's standing with other characters where he's clearly larger, around 6'5" or so but nowhere near Strong Guy size.
It’s a fair rating, but I love this set. A lot of characters that I needed to round out teams. These are D list characters, so the reuse and box set treatment is the trade off I accept. I hope we get more to be honest
Yup, I am not even mad with the reuse on the D-list characters to be honest. I understand though that some people don't see the value for their money in this boxset because of the reuse and bizarre design choices but I'm just happy to add these characters to my collection.
Random is actually at the perfect height in comparison to Strong Guy, but his upper body should be closer to the width of Strong Guy. Which I guess should also make Random’s legs a bit wider but not much wider.

I thought the Vertigo head looked like a reused head of Marvel Studios Scarlet Witch. And Pretty Boys head does look like Superman (lol). Do agree about Random needing to be bigger (should of been a build a figure). Stryfe looks cool.

LOL Zero is like the cheapest figure ever, well right next to the white wolf figure. Just a white plastic fig with no paint except a couple of circles. Sue Storm reuse screams cheap as well. You're right, Random should be a lot bigger. Random's true form is a skinny/small kid, but he shapeshifted himself really big for ego. Not as big as strong guy but as big as Colossus. The only fig I'm really interested in is Strife, but there's no way in hell I'm paying $125 just for Strife.

Since he's a shapeshifter I'm good with Random this way, but he was more popularly drawn with cartoonish features like large chest and arms and relatively small head kind of like the old toy biz 5poa fig. I thought Masterpiece on Figurealm customized him best.

Vertigo(and a lot of the ML woman figs) reminds me of those 60s fashion mannequins and pretty boy looks like an uncanny valley superman.
Edit: got through the last half of the video and I see you had the same idea. That superman looks great!!
Nice review. I really don’t get the hate for the Random figure. He was drawn that size plenty of times and is a shape changer in any case. I for one love the fig!
Vertigo is mostly a Sue Storm reuse, but if you look closely those are definitely not the wobbly Kate Bishop thighs. Not sure where they came from but they are of a much sturdier construction. It's a small change but I wish it was one they used more often and certainly should have been done a long time ago. It would have been really great if the could have done that for the new Sersi figure but no, she is on the KB mold, wobbly knees and all.

I made a custom tmnt shredder out of a Stryfe figure back in the day. It actually looks pretty good and I don't know anything about making customs. I literally just used the 2003 series shredder head and parts with the stryfe body, paint matches pretty well as is, so no need to paint imo. Looks pretty good and is big enough to match with nearly any tmnt figures

I'm in. I like everybody but zero. Of course I wish they were all updated in the ways you were talking about. What the hell is this vertigo with invisible woman's head?! Also, it's conceivable there have been so many clones of her, perhaps this one is trying to make amends with the morlocks? Do I get a no-prize? And I'll throw my hat in the ring for random being about the right size. For what they're working with. Certainly not as big as Guido. I do appreciate you putting this together, my dude! 🤘🤘

Great Review. To me Random and Pretty Boy's weapons with the green effects are the best.
So I bought the Diamond Marvel Select Vision, Beta Ray Bill, and Rulk for less then $100. With these three I received more plastic, more deco, more paint, and more accessories then this 5-pack.
Speak with your wallets folk, Pretty Boy and Stryfe will be released as singles on a retro card.

Random could be bigger however I don't think as big as Strong Guy. Actually I think Strong Guy is too small. Would like Diamond Select to take a crack at him.
Random is more-or-less a shapeshifter, so it could be justified to use a smaller bod. (Y'know, keeping price points down)
However, I hate how they designed his biogun arm: it shouldn't taper off at the elbow like that.
Easy pass for me, though I do wish I had that Stryfe strictly for the new headsculpt. While the other is great it looks more like a silver painted Wolverine head lol
i got the random figure i think the size is okay cus the proportions in the comics are wonky anyway and probably couldnt be replicated but height wise yeah i can agree a bit
I want Stryfe! Only reason I'm buying the set. The old one I used to have is expensive so this set will pay for itself ill keep Zero and Stryfe then gonna sell the other 3

Random doesn't need to be as big as Strong Guy, But I hope Hasbro puts out another Random that is bulkier, comes with swappable arms/cannons and little missiles the way toy biz did.

Actually you're wrong and right at the same time about Pretty Boy. He does have Bruce Campbell's face, but he also has Kevin Bacon's eyes. In my view, it's a good way to get away with trademark likeness usage without having to pay royalties.

Random is indeed too small. He is no where near as wide in the shoulders as he should be. I know Joe Quesada drew him and the team a bit stylized, but he doesn’t look right. I LOVED the 90s X-Men figure, with his pockmark “stubble” (I actually just looked at him again, and he is goofy looking, but I LOVED the figure!!!)
Stryfe looks amazing. He’s the only one I would want from the set.
If I was collecting Marvel Legends as much as I used to, I’d get this set. But, I MAY try and find just Stryfe on eBay.
Wouldn’t mind picking up Vertigo for my Iron man villains, for some odd reason she was part of Mandarins army in the 1995 animated series so that would be the only one I would want.

Did I miss something or I'm I wrong here. I don't remember vertigo being in the morlocks. I know she was part of Mr. Sinister's group in the animated series. I thought she was in Magento's savage land group in the comics

If you review the Spider-Man 5 pack, could you try a head swap of the Silvermane head on the Warlock BAF? The Ultimate Beetle body makes him look like an old man in an armored battle suit more than a human head on a robotic body.
Pretty Boy is going to be the breakout star of the pack, he is incredible! Stryfe is the runner up along with Random. Zero and Vertigo are meh. I give it a SUD rating of, I'll wait for the Black Friday sale , but it's not so bad. To all fellow DC fans out there like myself, that Pretty Boy body could make for an excellent Metallo figure.
We have to heat up all the action figures before we move them around due to lower quality plastic.

Whole set looks great! I’m particularly excited about Pretty Boy, Stryfe, and Random. They all look awesome. I like the character design for Zero a lot. Vulcan base body would have been better.

Vertigo buck looks like the buck they used for psylocke originally and then for the female alpha flight which had better range than the comic Kate bishop in my opinion

Random is not that huge lol, check the comic run when he first appeared in Xfactor or the Sword run that just ended. He's the right size
